一、阅读理解
Running is one of the most popular forms of exercise. Now, a new study shows that running could help you live longer. Researchers at Brigham Young University have found that running for just 75 minutes a week could add 12 years to a person’s life.
The study looked at how running influenced biological age—meaning how old a person’s cells(细胞) are. It is not the same as how long a person has lived. Looking at biological age is a great way to understand how healthy a person is and how long he is likely to live.
To see how people’s cells were aging, the research team looked at telomeres(端粒), which are structures at the end of chromosomes(染色体). Longer telomeres mean healthier cells, while shorter telomeres are connected to an increased risk of death and serious health problems.
As people get older, telomeres naturally get shorter, but a healthy lifestyle can slow down this process.
The research team studied over 4,400 adults and divided them into three groups: a group that ran less than 75 minutes a week, a group that ran at least 75 minutes a week, and a group that didn’t run.
The researchers found that people who ran at least 75 minutes each week had much longer telomeres than people who didn’t run. It meant “a biological age difference of almost 12 years in favor of the runners”. For those who ran less than 75 minutes a week, the researchers found no clear difference in telomere length. This could mean that running less than 75 minutes a week isn’t enough to slow biological aging. However, the researchers said further research may show other reasons for this result.
However, they said that their findings certainly support the health benefits(益处) of regularly running for at least 75 minutes a week.

Dear Tom,
I think robots will help us a lot. First, they will help us study. They will help us do homework. If we can’t go to school for certain reasons, we can ask robots to teach us as a private teacher. Second, they will do lots of housework for us. Besides cooking meals, cleaning the floor and washing clothes, robots will also do lots of other housework. Third, robots will make us happy. Playing some kinds of games with us will be one of robots’

In a word, robots will play an important part in our lives. Yours,
Linda
