Chinese cartoon films are becoming more and more popular in the world. Of them, the most famous one is Nezha. Nezha is a character in traditional Chinese stories. Besides (除……之外) Nezha, some other cartoon films such as White Snake and Monkey king, Hero Is Back are also very successful.
Why did film makers make these films First, the traditional Chinese stories are excellent. They can teach us history, family love, and many other useful things. So it’s a good idea to show people the stories through films. Second, the films help people understand (理解) Chinese culture better. For example, Hua Mulan is a famous woman in China’s history. She took her father’s place in the army. However, because of cultural differences, in the American cartoon film Mulan, she’s more like an independent (独立的) woman. So it is necessary to make our own films to help people understand the stories.
Some people worry that foreigners (外国人) can’t understand the traditional Chinese culture in the films. One Chinese film maker said the great traditional stories had something for everyone. Take Nezha for example. Although some people may not know Nezha’s tools (武器), Nezha’s spirit (精神) can still touch their hearts.

On January 20, 2025, a Chinese company named DeepSeek made a new AI called DeepSeek-R1. This AI can do math problems, write computer codes, and answer questions like the best AIs in the world. But it costs much less money to build. The team used only $5.58 million (much cheaper than other AIs) and 2,048 computer parts for two months. This shows that smart ideas are better than just spending a lot of money.
DeepSeek-R1 is free to use, and people can even change it. On its first day, more than 19,000 computer experts around the world started using it. A German scientist said, “Using R1 experiments costs only $10, but other AIs need $300.” Even a top scientist from Meta (a big U. S. company) said, “This free AI could change the world.”
U.S. companies are now worried. Meta plans to spend $65 billion more on AI research. Experts say China is becoming a leader in AI very fast. A report in Nature (a famous science magazine) called R1 a “big success”, showing that good ideas are more important than expensive tools.
A DeepSeek engineer said, “We want AI to help everyone, not just rich people.” With R1, China shows that great things come from new ideas and hard work, not just money.
16.When was the new AI DeepSeek-R1 developed
17.What can DeepSeek-R1 do
18.How much did the team spend on building DeepSeek-R1 and how long did it take

January 20, 2025, a Chinese tech company named DeepSeek made a new AI called DeepSeek-R1. This smart program can work out math problems, write code, and answer questions like top models such as Open AI’s GPT 4.0, but it costs much less to build. The team spent only $5.58 million (1/70 of Open AI’s cost) and used 2,048 computer chips for two months. This shows that good ideas can beat big money.
DeepSeek-R1 learns by trying many times and getting better, like how students practice maths. Other AIs need lots of prepared examples, but R1 improves by itself. For example, in a global math test, it got 79.8% right, slightly higher than Open AI’s model. A simple version of R1 can even run on low-cost computers, helping schools and small companies.
DeepSeek-R1 is free to use and change. On its first day online, more than 19, 000 programmers worldwide started projects to study it. A German scientist said experiments with R1 cost $10 instead of $300 with other AIs. Even Meta (a famous U.S. tech company) top scientist said, “This kind of free AI could change the world.”
U.S. tech companies are worried. Meta plans to spend $65 billion more on AI research. Experts say China is catching up fast. A report in Nature magazine called R1 a “big step forward”, proving that smart ideas beat expensive tools.
As a DeepSeek engineer said, “We want AI to be a friend, not something only rich people can use. With R1, China shows the world that great things come from new ideas and hard work, not just money.”

The Rise of Robot Vacuums: A Helpful Cleaning Friend
Robot vacuums are smart machines that help clean our homes. They move around by themselves, picking up dirt and dust, so we don’t have to do all the work. Let’s take a look at the amazing robot vacuum.
Why Robot Vacuums Are Great
The best thing about robot vacuums is how much time they save us. Regular vacuums can be tiring and time-consuming, but robot vacuums clean on their own. We can set a time for them to start, and while they work, we can relax or focus on other tasks.
Cleaning Without Noise
Another advantage is that they work quietly. Unlike regular vacuums, which need someone to hold and operate them, robot vacuums can clean while we’re out. By the time we return, the floors are clean, and there’s no noise to disturb us.
Smart Technology
Robot vacuums are very smart! They have special sensors (传感器) that help them move around the house, avoid furniture, and know when to stop. Some models can even connect to phones, allowing us to control them with a tap.
Things to Think About
However, robot vacuums have limitations (局限). They might not work well on thick carpets or pick up large pieces of dirt. Too much clutter (杂物) can also cause them to get stuck. Additionally, some models can be expensive, so it’s important to think carefully before buying one.
56.What is the best thing about robot vacuums
57.To avoid noise, when can robot vacuums get to work
58.What helps robot vacuums avoid furniture
59.What are the limitations of robot vacuums mentioned in the text (写出一个答案即可)
60.Robots can help people in different ways. Give another example about how robots help people. (答案要与文中例句不同)

Is it harder for machines to copy the way humans move or the way humans think Our answer might be “think”. After all, we don’t know much about how human brains work. Yet now we have AI robots which can understand, decide and continue learning just like humans do.
Building machines that work like our bodies would seem to be an easier task than thinking in a human way. Surprisingly, it hasn’t been. Many robots still have trouble doing basic tasks that humans can do. But if we get the technology right, the uses for robots will be almost endless. On farms, robots can be used to do hard and dangerous work for humans. They can work long days around factory floors.
Many people are worried that robots may take people’s jobs finally. But in fact, robots will not take our place in jobs we love, instead they’ll do work that people don’t want to do. In the process, they can make us safer, healthier, more productive and even less lonely.
Many companies around the world are taking the lead in robotics technology. Some of their robots are human-like so they can do activities in environments built for people. Others have super-human traits (特性) like flying or moving arms. Some move around on legs. Others have wheels.
Although they are different, one thing is certain: in different places of our life, robots have the power to change the way we live and work.
We usually believe that it is more difficult for machines to copy the way humans think than the way humans move. Yet now AI robots can not only understand and decide but also 61 learning like humans do. It is surprising that many robots can’t finish basic human 62 . Now small drones are a part of people’s lives. For example, people use drones to take photos or make videos. Besides, a drone delivery (投递) service has proved (证明) successful.
Online store JD can use drones to deliver small packages (包裹). It built a few drone stations so that it can load (装载) and deliver its packages.
Drones have made our shopping experience different. We can order a new coat in early morning and it will be delivered before we finish breakfast.
Bizzby Sky, a UK company, has created a delivery service for small goods. Open a smartphone app, enter your address, set a time and pay enough money for the delivery service. Then in minutes, a drone will do tasks for you.
However, any drone company needs government permission (允许) to fly its drones in many countries. We believe we will see more and more drones with goods fly in the sky very soon.

People depend on plants. We use plants for food, cloth and even the air we breathe. Plants keep our air and water clean. Green plants give us oxygen. Oxygen is part of the air we breathe.
Plants are also part of the water cycle. Most of the water that a plant takes in goes back into the air. Plants give us a lot of food on the earth. Fruits, vegetables and grains come from plants. Without plants, we would not have bread, rice, carrots, apples, oranges or bananas! Many people are growing plants to eat in their own gardens at home. Having your own garden helps the earth as well.
When you grow your own fruits and vegetables, you help cut down on pollution because big trucks don’t need to take your food to shops. You also help reduce the amount of rubbish because you don’t need to use bags for packing your food. You can just pick it out of the ground or off a plant and put it into a basket!
Plants are quite important to humans and the earth. Without plants, the earth would be a very different place.
111.What do we use plants for according to Paragraph 1
112.Where does most of water that a plant takes in go

Thanks to Earth, we have fresh air to breathe, clean water to drink and warm sunshine to enjoy. But it seems that we may have taken these things for granted (认为这些事理所当然) and not realized that our planet is getting “sick”.
Among all the environmental challenges, climate change sits at the top. Global average temperatures have risen by more than 0.5°C since 1992. A half-degree temperature rise is a big deal. It means that heat waves can last around a third longer and rainstorms will be about a third more intense (猛烈的). The increase in sea levels will be much higher, according to NASA.Countries like Singapore and Tokyo that are at low altitudes (海拔) may be covered by the ocean in the future.
But this is not the only problem people are facing. It’s getting harder to get fresh water. Ocean pollution has become serious. Since 1992, the human population has grown by 2 billion, while the populations of all other animals have dropped by nearly 30 percent. Scientists say that we are experiencing the sixth mass extinction (物种大灭绝) in history. More than two-thirds of the world’s wildlife could be gone by the end of the decade if action isn’t taken soon, according to the World Wildlife Fund. The Amur leopard (远东豹), black rhino (犀牛) and Cross River gorilla (克罗斯河大猩猩) are some of the most endangered animals. However, we have made some progress by making the hole in the ozone layer (臭氧层) smaller. That’s because we gradually stopped using chemicals that can break down ozone. This shows that when we make quick and strong decisions, we can make positive changes.
Our planet’s 115
Current situation We are facing different 116 challenges
Environmental challenges Top challenge 117 : Global average temperatures have risen over 0.5 C since 1992. Influence: 118 heat waves, more intense rainstorms, rising sea levels Possible danger: Disappearing of areas at low altitudes(e.g.Singapore, Tokyo) Other challengesDifficulty in getting fresh water. Ocean pollution. Human population growth (2 billion since 1992). Dropping in animal species(nearly 30%)
Progress The hole in the ozone layer became smaller, because we gave up using ozone-harming chemicals.
clusion We need to make 119 decisions to protect our environment.
