However, what is true friendship As the popular saying goes, “A friend in need is a friend indeed.” True friends are those who never desert you when you are in trouble. The circulatory system (循环系统) is an important part of our body. The word “circulatory” means something that is going around in a circle or loop (环). This is exactly what is happening in our bodies all of the time.
________
The simple answer is that your blood is circulated all around your body. The blood is doing an important job. It is taking oxygen all around the body to all the places it needs to go. Oxygen comes into our bodies when we breathe in. It goes into our lungs (肺). Then, this oxygen goes into our blood. Here it starts its journey around the body. You could think of the blood cells like delivery drivers. They drop off the oxygen where it needs to go. Oxygen is dropped off all around the body to thinner blood vessels (血管). These transfer the oxygen to the cells in the body.
The Heart
The heart is at the heart of it all! Without the heart, no blood would get anywhere around your body. The heart is a big pump (泵). It continuously pumps the blood around the circulatory system. This has to happen all the time to keep you alive. There are two loops in the circulatory system; the first goes to and from the heart. It visits the lungs to collect oxygen and throw away carbon dioxide (二氧化碳). The other loop is much larger. It goes to and from the heart but travels all around the body in between.
The Other Half of the System
We’ve talked about the blood in your system collecting oxygen and delivering it all around the body. It also does another important job. It takes carbon dioxide from your body back to the lungs to be let out when you breathe out. If we think of our red blood cells as delivery drivers again, they also collect the waste and take it away again. So, they are delivery drivers and waste disposers all in one!

Exhibition Ages of Splendor: A History of Spain in the Museo del Prado, running in Shanghai’s Museum of Art Pudong from Apr 23 to Sept 1, marks the largest presentation of the Prado Museum’s collection in China. One of the most famous paintings of all time, Leonardo da Vinci’s Mona Lisa has a fine copy in the collection of Prado Museum in Madrid, Spain.
HOST: It’s ALL THINGS CONSIDERED from Shanghai News with big news from the art world that’s changing our understanding of the “Mona Lisa.” There are many replicas (复制品) of Leonardo da Vinci’s painting. But researchers in Madrid have examined one of them and discovered something new. This was created at the same time Leonardo was painting his Florentine lady with her famous smile. Martin, how did the researchers do this
MARTIN: They used modern technology, something called infrared reflectography (红外反射成像). One’s able to look under the surface of the paint. It’s not exactly like an X-ray, but it’s similar process. So they used this process, and found there were lines that were hidden under the surface of the two paintings but visible in the reflectography. So they reached the conclusion that the copyist of the painting had been working alongside Leonardo, seeing how he was creating his painting.
HOST: You know, I’m looking at the two works, Leonardo’s from the Louvre and the other, the copy. The copy is much brighter, and she looks much the same but also quite a bit different. How do you think it changes what we understand about the original (原作)
MARTIN: Well, it is surprising because, first of all, you see a much brighter and much more colorful image. The original “Mona Lisa” in the Louvre is difficult to see. And what is wonderful about the copy, the Prado “Mona Lisa”, is how vivid it is, and you see Lisa in a quite different light. We won’t say yes to the things we do not like, because we are afraid that we will not remove them forever.

When we say yes to the world, we begin to believe that whatever our situation is, we can work with it. We express belief in ourselves, and the world, and we also express a willingness to learn from whatever happens to us, rather than running and hiding when we don’t like what we see. Therefore, in one word, saying yes is really good for our life.
The question we might ask ourselves is what it will take to get to the point of saying yes. For some of us, it takes dealing with something we can’t run away from or refuse, and so we have no choice but to say yes. For others, they might make a decision to say yes to life no matter what happens to them. Saying yes to life might be difficult at first, and even painful at times, but if we continue to say yes to life, it will be far less difficult in the end. And we will find the joy of being in a positive (积极的) talk to the world with a very powerful word “yes”. We should accept everything life puts in front of us.
