一、题型分析
全国卷的完形填空主要考查考生的词汇知识和阅读能力。所选文章一般是情节明了、层次分明、内容易懂的故事性或记叙性的文体,文中生词较少。长250字左右,设20空。所设空格是名词、动词、形容词、副词或介词,没有代词、冠词、连词等虚词。四个选项的词性、形式相同,不考形式、词性、词语辨析。以意义填空为主,重点考查词语搭配、逻辑推断、前后呼应及英语国家的语言和生活习惯等。

二、解题步骤
1.首读全文,明大意
首先要跳过空白处,通读全文,遇到某个部分意思不甚明白时,仍要快速读下去,全力以赴捕捉能获得的所有信息,了解短文大意。科技小品等说明文,往往开头第一句提示全文中心,首句常不设空,对理解全文起关键作用。幽默故事类短文,往往末尾点明主旨。
2.再读全文,先容易
在第一遍了解大意的基础上,结合各选项的意义和用法,充分考虑前后词语的搭配,上下文的意义关系,先做较易的空格。
3.三读全文,扫残余
容易题做出后,变成已知信息,信息越多就越接近原文,剩余的少量难题也就水落石出。
4.通盘考量,去歧义
20个空格完成后,务必整体考虑文章的脉络是否一致、通顺。把短文从头到尾读一遍,与主旨有分歧的空格再从多方推敲:惯用法对不对;是否符合上下文的逻辑;是否符合科学道理;是否符合故事情节的发展。
三、解题技巧
1.前后呼应
短文的每一句话,都和上下文有关,不会是孤立的。一般是上文暗示下文,限制下文,甚至末尾的一空,也要根据首句提供的信息,才能做出正确的选择。前后呼应指有些句子若孤立理解,可能多个选择都能成立,但把前后文结合起来理解,就只有唯一选择。
2.词语搭配
词语搭配包括习惯用语、动词、名词、形容词、副词、介词等的相互搭配。词语搭配主要有短语搭配和句式搭配。

3.词语复现
完形填空的文章是一个意义相关联的语篇,围绕一个话题论述,行文中词语的重复、替代、复现和同现现象很普遍。空格所对应的答案很可能就是在上下文中复现或同现的相关词语:原词、指代词、同义词、近义词、上义词、下义词和概括词等。考生在作答时,不妨站在作者的主题思想的立场上,去考虑文中空白处的合适答案。
某些语义相关联的词语在语篇中再次出现的倾向性,叫词语复现或词语同现。复现词之间有反义或相对关系,如good与bad, heavy与light;有同类互补关系,如:teacher,student,study, learn,test, exam,classroom,dormitory等。

四、备考策略
1.加强词汇识记、词汇知识训练和理解。
一个词在具体的上下文中会有不同的意思,甚至一个普通的词,在一定的语言环境下可能会赋予特定意思。熟记每一单词(特别是名词、动词、形容词和副词)的基本词义和例句,多学一些构词法对提高自己的词汇知识是很有用的。当然,一定的词汇训练对理解句子的真正含义是必不可少的。

完形填空重点考查考生的阅读能力。提高阅读能力是提高完形填空得分的关键。阅读能力的提高和阅读量成正比。因此,有计划地进行一定量的阅读训练是很重要的。
进行阅读训练时,一要检测阅读理解情况,二要对阅读文中出现的重点词、词组和句式做笔记。在今后的试题中出现时就会产生较好的语感,提高解题速度,提高正确率。
3.加强完形填空题型训练。
多做题型训练可有效提高和适应本题。做完一道题,要认真核对答案,找出错因,采取相应措施,避免今后出现同样的错。不要随手扔掉,应把整篇文章再默记一遍。这样对培养做完形填空的感觉是有好处的。
