对于“参赛”和“征文”的英语作文，常以记叙文为主。分为写人和叙事两种。写作步骤如下:
一、认真审题，提炼主题

高考英语活动报道满分技巧
一、写好首段导语部分，言简意赅，主题明确
报道的开头部分开门见山，扼要概括报道的核心内容，无须自我介绍!无须寒暄！主要讲清what (事件), when (时间), where (地点)和 who (人物), 而在下文则要补充事件的过程和细节, 往往包括why(目的或原因) 和 how(具体过程)等---5W1H。
二、遵循活动报道句式和时态要求，条理清晰
注意新闻类题材的一些常用语,如 It is reported that..., As is reported..., According to the report...; It is estimated that...等。报道一般使用第三人称，不出现个人信息，不出现带有主观性观点的词或句子，如 I think，I believe，in my opinion，I hope等。活动报道通常是报道过去所发生的事件，多用一般过去时，口吻客观。
三、运用“彩虹屁”总结活动的收获以及反响
结尾段注意套用一些涉及评价或积极反响的句式，提升文章表达力。同时，注意借助于倒装句、强调句型或无灵主语是文章的语言更上一层楼。
