Miniaturization (微型化) has been a goal of engineers and designers for a few years. The ever smaller products have included pocket-sized computers and motorbikes which are the size of a backpack. The latest thing is a handbag which can pass through the eye of a needle (针). It has been sold for $63,750 online, according to a post (帖子) made by the company MSCHF on June 14th, 2023.
“Smaller than a grain of sea salt, this handbag is so small that you’ll need a microscope (显微镜) to see it,” MSCHF wrote in the post. There are big handbags, normal handbags, and small handbags, but this is the final word in bag miniaturization. An object like a handbag is useful, but it becomes smaller and smaller. It is losing its original use until it turns into just a br and.
The tiny handbag is 657 by 222 by 700 micrometers and was shown to the public in Paris in June. It was made with high technology which uses 3D printers. MSCHF chose the technology to see how small a handbag they could make.
MSCHF’s creative officer Kevin Wiesner was interviewed by The New York Times. “I think the bag is a funny object because it comes from something very functional,” Wiesner said. “But in fact, it has become jewelry (珠宝).”

Nowadays, people use computers to do a lot of things every day, like searching for information and sending e-mails. But none of them would go well without the computer mouse.
The first computer mouse appeared in 1964, invented by Douglas Engelbart. It was mainly made up of a wooden “house”, a circuit ( 电路) board and two wheels. Engelbart called his invention the “Bug”. But the long “tail” on the back made it look like a mouse, so the name became well -known soon.
Eight years later, Bill English, an American computer engineer, developed the mouse further. He changed the wheels into a rolling (滚动的) ball at the bottom of the mouse. The “Ball Mouse” was easier to use and could be found in lots of offices. It had its problems, though. For example, the ball became dirty easily from rolling round the desktop. It had to be often cleaned out to keep the ball r unning well.
The disadvantages led to the next development around 1980. Then the optical mouse (光学鼠标) was invented. However, the optical mouse was too expensive to be wi dely used.
The computer mouse has come a long way since its invention. It has been improved many times to meet the changing needs of users. But with the rise of touchscreens and voice control, some experts think the computer mouse may disappear in the future. However, some people think it will still have a mar ket.

Animals can do many things that humans can’t do, like flying or staying underwater for a long time. 27. _______ Thanks to it, people can travel far in the air. This has helpe d to develop trade and travelling. The idea of the submarine (潜水艇) comes from a sea animal. It can travel underwater. 28. _______
Plants around us are also great sources of ideas for other wonderful inventions. The self-cleaning glass window and the cloth used to make umbrellas were both inspired by the leaves of a lotus plant, with their ability to wash away dirty things in the rain. 29. _______ Georges de Mestral was a Swiss engineer who, while walking his dog in the forest, noticed that his coat was covered in burrs (带芒刺的小果实). Through a microscope, he discovered that burrs were able to attach themselves to clothing and other surfaces. This observation sparked his inspiration, finally leading to the invention of Velcro. It has become a fastener (扣件) for shoes, jackets and even spacesuits.

五、One possible version:
Inventions are created every day because people would like to make life easier. There are famous inventions like the TV and the bicycle.
The TV provides us with different kinds of information so that we can know more about the world. We can also watch entertainment programs to relax. The bicycle is very useful, too. We go to school or work by bike. It’s not so expensive that most of us can afford it. It makes no pollution, which is good for our environment. What’s more, bicycle riding is a kind of exciting sport which is quite good for our health.
Though there have been many great inventions, I wish to invent a kind of pen which can help us write more quickly and neatly. If we meet problems when doing our homework, it will tell us how to solve them.
