Kangkang:
I went mountain climbing with my classmates last Sunday. The night before, I checked the weather to make sure it was a fine day. To prepare for it, first I took some yellow baseball caps for my classmates, so that we could easily see each other. Also, I brought a heavy coat because it was cold on the mountain top. I took a map too. It was useful to show me the way on the mountains.

①“make sure + （that）从句”用来确保某事会发生或某事是真实的。
e.g. Make sure (that) you arrive on time tomorrow. 确保你明天按时到达。
②“make sure of /about + 名词/代词/动名词”，意为 “确保……；弄清楚……”，强调对某一事物或行为进行确认或核实。
e.g. Please make sure of the time and place of the meeting. 请确认会议的时间和地点。

①引导目的状语从句，表示 “以便；为了”。
e.g. I get up early so that I can catch the first bus. 我早起以便能赶上第一班公交车。
②引导结果状语从句，意为 “结果是；以至于”，强调某种行为或情况所导致的结果。
e.g. He didn’t sleep well last night so that he is very tired today. 他昨晚没睡好，结果今天非常累。
as for 至于，就……而言
①置于句首，用来转换话题，引出与前文相关但又有区别的新话题，可译为 “至于；关于”。
e.g. As for the weather, it’s supposed to be sunny tomorrow. 至于天气，明天应该是晴天。
②用于表明说话者对某事物的观点、态度等。
e.g. As for his plan, I don’t think it will work. 关于他的计划，我觉得它行不通。
