(1)过去的动作或状态持续到现在已经完成,对现在造成的影响。常用的时间状语有:lately;recently;so far;by now; up to/till now;in the last/past few days/years等

(2)从过去开始一直持续到现在的动作或状态,可能还会继续进行下去。常用的时间状语有:since+时间点;for+时间段。

(3)瞬间动词可以用于现在完成时,但在肯定句中不能与表示一段时间的状语连用。在否定句中,瞬间动词可以与表示一段时间的状语连用。常用的瞬间动词有:go,come,arrive,leave,begin, borrow,buy,die,fall,stop,start,kill,close,graduate,join,finish,lose 等。

(3)若瞬间动词要接表示一段时间的状语,需要做一些相应的变换,如:buy → have 买;borrow→ keep 借;finish → be over 结束;leave→ be away 离开;close → be closed 关闭;open→ be open 打开;come/ go/ become → be 来/去/变得;成为
fall asleep → be asleep 睡觉;fall ill → be ill 生病
put on → have/ wear 穿;marry→ be married 结婚
join the army → be a soldier/be in the army 参军

(3)若瞬间动词要接表示一段时间的状语,需要做一些相应的变换。
“他已经参军三年了”可以用以下方式表达:
He joined the army three years ago.
It is/has been three years since he joined the army.
He has been a soldier for three years.
He has been in the army for three years.

1. 构成:had+ 过去分词
2. 用法:
(1)在过去某一时间或过去某一事件之前已经发生并完成的 动作,即“过去的过去”。
When I hurried to the station to see the specialist off, the train had already left.
当我匆忙赶到车站为专家送行时,火车已经开走了。

(2)表示一个动作或状态从过去某一时间之前已经开始,一直持续到过去这一时刻,并也可能继续下去。常用的时间状语有:by then;by the time;by that time;before;by the end of;until then;by the time + 一般过去时的从句等。

(3)intend,mean,hope,want,plan,suppose,expect,think 等动词的过去完成时,可表示过去未曾实现的愿望或想法等。
I had intended to visit you yesterday, but I had an unexpected visitor.
我本来打算昨天去看你的,但来了一个不速之客。(实际上没去)

三、现在完成进行时
1. 构成:have/has been + 现在分词
2. 用法:
(1)现在完成进行时有时所表示的动作并不是一直在不停地进行,而是在断断续续地重复。
I have been ringing you several times in two days.
这两天内我给你打过几次电话。

(2)表示从过去某一时刻开始,一直持续到现在的动作。这一动作可能刚完成,也可能仍在进行。常用的时间状语有:all this morning;this month;recently;these few days;all night;since等。
The librarian has been working in the library every night over the last three months.
在过去的三个月里,那位图书管理员每天晚上都在图书馆工作。

1. 构成:had been + 现在分词
2. 用法:
(1)表示过去的过去反复进行的动作。
He had been mentioning your name to me.
他过去多次向我提到你的名字。

(2)动作从过去的过去开始一直延续到过去某个时间点。在过去某个时间点时,这个动作可能刚刚停止,也可能仍然在进行。
They had only been waiting for the bus a few minutes when it came.

1. Another example of natural cloning is identical twins...
identical adj. 完全相同的,非常相似的
搭配: be identical to/ with 与……完全相同
be identical in 在……方面极其相似

whether...or... 不管……还是……引导让步状语从句,强调任意选择,此时不能把whether 替换为if。

动词不定式作定语 当被修饰词前有序数词(first,second 等)、最高级或 the next,the only,the very 等修饰时,常用不定式作定语。

He is the only one to get a bachelor’s degree in his family.
他是家中唯一取得学士学位的人。
She was the first woman to be appointed to the board.

7. Researchers insist that the science of cloning should be further explored and advanced.
insist 后接 that 从句,表示“坚持,坚决要求”时,从句用虚拟语 气,即从句谓语用“should + 动词原形”,should 可以省略。

He insists that students (should) do some exercise for at least half an hour every day.
