1. But what could Yu Gong do instead of moving the mountains
instead of 代替(作为...的替代);而不是
instead 与 instead of 其区别如下:
两者均可意为“代替;反而”,
instead副词,位于句首或句末, 作状语修饰整个句子。
instead of 介词短语,后必须接一个成分(名词、代词或 v.-ing)。位于句首或句中。
He didn’t reply. Instead, he left the room.
If you can’t go, he’ll go instead.

2. It doesn’t seem very possible to move a mountain.
