excite:动词 "使兴奋;使激动”。多用物做主语。
excited: 形容词“兴奋的;激动的”。用来修饰人物
exciting:形容词 "令人兴面的”。用来修饰事物
The good news excited us. 动词excite的过去时态;那个好消息让我们很激动。
This was exciting news. 形容词exciting修饰后面的名词news;这是个令人激动的消息。
We were excited. 形容词excited;我们感到很激动。

exciting:形容词 修饰后面的名词news;

has excited: have/has+done现在完成时,表示动作从过去一直持续到现在
for+时间段:表示动作持续/长达...时间

总结: as soon as引导时间状语从句,当主句是一般过去时的时候,从句也用一般过去时;当主句是一般将来时的时候,从句用一般现在时表示将来,即主将从现。

Once a circle lost a piece of its own. The circle wanted to be whole, so it went around looking for its missing piece. But because it was incomplete, it could only roll very slowly. It admired the flowers, chatted with snails and enjoyed the sunshine along the way. It found lots of different pieces, but none of them fit. So it left them all by the side of the road and kept on looking for the missing piece.
Then one day the circle found a piece that fit perfectly. The circle put the missing piece into itself. It could be whole with nothing missing. It was so happy and began to roll. Now that it was a perfect circle, it could roll very fast, too fast to see flowers or talk to snails. It realized how different the world was when it rolled so quickly. It felt so sad that ________.
Sometimes we are more perfect when we lose something. A man who has everything is a poor man in some ways. He will never have hope, dreams or something better. He will never know someone is loving him or someone is giving him something.
Life is not a spelling game. No matter how many words you got right, you fail if you make one mistake. Life is more like a basketball season. Even the best team loses one third of its games and even the worst team has its good days. Our goal is to win more games than we lose. When we accept that imperfection is part of being humans, and when we can continue rolling through life and enjoy it, we will have reached a wholeness.
We couldn’t be perfect, but we must be brave enough to love, strong enough to forgive, kind enough to share happiness with others and clever enough to know there is enough love around us and then we can always live a wonderful life.
