(2025·赤坎模拟)These days, teenagers are heavily influenced by the media (媒体). Many of them use the Internet for thousands of hours. That's more time than they spend with teachers at school, and even more than the hours they spend watching TV and reading newspapers.
However, some studies show a serious issue in the society: today's teenagers are short of media literacy (素养). That's to say, they have difficulty telling the right from wrong about the information. One study was done on middleschool students. It showed that more than 80% of them couldn't tell the difference between real news and advertisements (广告) that looked like news.
Professor Kevin John tried to help his students learn media literacy. He gave an example to show the importance of media literacy. In the example, two news stations report an awful snowstorm. One pays attention to the terrible road conditions. The other pays attention to kids playing in the snow. "News stations tell you their feelings. These depend on the opinions of the news reporter," said John. "A person who has media literacy will know that each story is just about one part of the event at that time. There is more going on."
Some people think schools are the best place to teach media literacy. Others believe everyone, from parents to reporters, should help teenagers learn it.
As for the best time to start learning media literacy, many people suggest the age of twelve. But some ideas can be taught even earlier. "It's never too early to start learning media literacy," John said.

(2024·珠海模拟)Trees are useful to men in three important ways: They provide them with wood and other products , they give them shade , and they help to prevent drought and floods.
Unfortunately, in many parts of the world, men have not realized that trees are the most important. In their eagerness (渴望) to make money from trees, some people have cut trees down in large numbers, only to find that without them they have lost the best friends they had. And besides, they are usually too careless to plant and look after new trees, so the forests slowly disappear.
This doesn't only mean that men will have fewer trees. The results are even more serious: where there are trees, their roots break up soil—allowing the rain to sink in and also bind (绑定) the soil, thus preventing it from being washed away easily, but where there are no trees, the rain falls and carries away the rich top-soil. When all the top-soil is gone, nothing remains but worthless desert.

(2024·深圳模拟)A tornado (龙卷风) is a kind of strong storm with air which moves in a circle quickly. They can move over 200 miles per hour and cause a lot of damage. As they move across the land, they can easily pick up cars, trucks, and even houses, and then throw them very far. It is important to find a safe place if a tornado gets close.
A safe place could be a basement or the lowest floor. If you are in a home without a basement, try to find a first-floor bathroom or a small room without windows in the middle of your house. You should curl up (蜷缩) into a ball and cover your head and neck with your hands.
But there are some people who actually want to get close to tornadoes. They are scientists who want to learn more about tornadoes. One of the best ways to do this is to get as close as possible to the tornado. They use special tools to measure (测量) what is happening in and around a tornado.
One special tool is called a tornado probe (探测仪). Inside the tornado probe, there are sensors (传感器) to measure wind speed, temperature, pressure, and direction. Some probes even have cameras, so the scientists can see and understand what it's like to be in a tornado.
To be able to get these measurements, the scientists have to get a tornado probe near or into a tornado. Scientists will try to guess where a tornado will go next. Then they drive to that location and put down the probe. If they do not guess correctly, they pick up their probe and try another place. If they are right, the tornado will go near or even right over the probe. Then they take all of the measurements from the probe and use them to predict where future tornadoes may form and travel. And they can give people some warning to keep away from a dangerous tornado.

(2024·潮阳模拟)Wuxi City in eastern China's Jiangsu Province is known as the "Home of the erhu" because it is the birthplace of many erhu masters. Looking around Wuxi, you can often hear the beautiful sound of the erhu. The erhu was called the huqin at first, a musical instrument of ethnic (种族的) groups in northern China, and it dates more than a thousand years back to the Tang Dynasty. In modern times, with the development of operas, the huqin was renamed the erhu and it slowly spread throughout China.
The erhu plays a leading role in many Chinese folk orchestras (管弦乐队) just as the violin does in Western orchestras. They are both made up of a body, a bridge, strings (弦) and a bow (弓).
The performer usually holds the erhu straightly on the leg, ▲ and pressing the strings with his fingers, while drawing the bow with his right hand. As the bow runs against the strings and touches and shakes them, beautiful music comes.
Not limited (限制) by just two strings, a good player can give the erhu amazing emotional expressions. It can present both soft, lovely songs and sad music. Sometimes it gives a human crying voice, and sometimes a great horse-running sound.
Today, as a folk instrument, the erhu has been used more widely by communicating with Western musical instruments. In many international concerts, the erhu can be seen playing with different Western instruments, such as the piano, violin and guitar. (2024·深圳模拟)Have you ever burped (打嗝) after a meal Recently, scientists from Harvard University found a black hole that "burped out" the star it had "eaten".
Back in 2018, a small star was seen to be "eaten" by a black hole that is 665 million light years away from Earth. Three years later, the same black hole became active again. This time, it began ejecting (喷出) materials of the star at half the speed of light. This event is called AT2018hyz.
"This caught us completely by surprise —no one has ever seen anything like this before," said Yvette Cendes, a researcher on this.
A black hole's eating of a star is called a tidal disruption event (TDE). Although TDEs happened a few times before, but the ejecting has only taken place at the same time as the eating, not three years later. What's more, the speed of the materials ejected from the black hole is also unusual, as most TDE outflows travel at 10% the speed of light rather than half of it.
The team thought about the possible reasons behind the event. They first turned to the density theory (密度理论). If the density is very high around the black hole, the materials might be drawn out, causing a "burp". Another explanation was that the other TDEs happened in directions that could not be seen from Earth. So other black holes' gravity drew the materials out.
However, scientists have not yet found the true reason. But they say they will work hard on it.
34.What does the author compare a black hole to
A.A star. B.A meal. C.A person. D.A university.
35.What is TRUE about the black hole in Paragraph 2

A.A Black Hole "Burped" B.How a TDE Happens
C.A Black Hole "Ate" a Star D.How the Density Theory Works
(2024·深圳模拟)Are you troubled by housework, such as cleaning tables or tidying your room Do you need a helping hand Recently, the robot Mobile Aloha made by scientists at Stanford University in the US became popular online. In the videos posted, we can see the robot preparing dishes on its own. It's also good at watering plants, petting cats, cleaning the floor and washing clothes.
Sounds good Well, another video posted by researchers may disappoint some people. Mobile Aloha isn't good at doing housework on its own. Instead, it learns from human actions before doing each kind of housework. When the situation changes, it can't work well without a human "teaching" it. So it may break dishes, bump into (撞上) things and even burn a pot.
The robot can successfully move chairs 80 percent of the time, said the team after they did more research on it. For cooking dishes, it's only 40 percent. In short, it's far from perfect.
In fact, AI robots are good at tasks such as math and playing chess, but they face challenges when it comes to simpler actions like cleaning. And it's the same for Mobile Aloha. For example, if its body doesn't move correctly—even just with a small deviation, its arm may move too far to pick up a glass.
"Robots are not ready to take over the world," the team posted online.

AI technology has been used in many fields, and it is now playing an increasingly important role in matters of public interest.
A group of students at Huazhong University of Science and Technology(HUST) has developed an AI system that restores (修复)old photos of missing children. Until now, they have been providing
technological support for many parents with over 1, 000 restored photos and helped reunite (使重聚)11 missing children with their families.
The team was set up by Sheng Jianzhong three years ago, when he was a student at HUST. He first thought to restore photographs of missing children when he came across a missing child notice with a poor-quality photo in 2020. As he was studying digital image processing (数字图像处理)at school, he decided to use his skills to help the parents restore their images.
But the system cannot be completed by one person alone. Luckily, many like-minded students soon volunteered to join Sheng's project.
After six months of hard work, they produced an image restoration AI system that solved the problem of unclear faces in photographs. A restored image can be generated in just a few minutes. Parents can then print the high-quality images of their missing children onto T-shirts or large posters.
In many cases, the team doesn't have direct contact with the families. And sometimes the families don't even know the team has helped them. "But we still feel satisfied, and we are happy for them," Sheng said.

(2024·深圳模拟)Each year, millions of tourists from all over the world go to see the Alps. The Alps can be a really popular place for skier(滑雪者)because of the snow. ①
Antoine Guisan and Sabine Rumpf are experts that study the Alps. They recently found that plants and grass on the Alps are not only spreading but also getting thicker and greener. ② At the same time, the Alps are losing the snow.
The reason is that our planet is getting warmer. When people burn fuels(燃料), CO2 goes into the air and keeps heat on the planet. So the earth's average(平均的)temperature has been rising. It has risen about 1℃ since 1880.
That might not seem like a very big problem, but actually even small changes can make huge differences. The Alps in Switzerland have seen some of these changes. ③ About 1200 new lakes have been formed there since 1850. The water of these lakes has come from melting glaciers(正在融化的冰川).
Now, the Alps are growing greener. This brings some other problems. One is that new plants and animals show up. They could put the current(现在的)ones at risk. Another problem is that green can lead to faster warming. That's because green doesn't reflect sunlight as well as the white of snow does. ④ This can cause snow, ice, and glaciers on the mountains to melt much faster.
"This is a very important discovery," Guisan said. After all, the more we know, the easier it will be for us to help.
59.According to experts, which is a problem the Alps are facing

Get a group of friends together and go exploring, You'll need a good map, a compass (指南针), a raincoat, a cellphone to call for help to avoid getting lost, and some cash (现金) for emergencies. Tell someone where you're going before you set out and let them know what time you expect to be back so that they can help you when something bad happens. The test is not in getting lost, not in seeing how fast you can go, so always stay together, waiting for slower friends to catch up with.
See if your school or a club organizes orienteering (定向越野赛) activities, in which you need a map and a compass to find your way. This can be done as a sport, with teams trying to find the way from A to B (and B to C, etc.) in the fastest time, or simply as a spare-time activity. Either way, it's not only good fun, but a great way to keep fit.

There are many ways to help improve your health like eating healthy food. Taking exercise and getting medical help. But the easiest and cheapest way to improve your health is just to sleep eight hours or more every night. The general sleeping rule is that the younger you are, the longer sleep you need. But
regardless of (不管) age, some people need to sleep more while for some a few hours is enough.
The problem with sleep is that more and more people in the world are not sleeping enough. According to the World Health Organization over half the people in the world may be sleep-deprived. Having less sleep not only makes people feel tired but also causes accidents. In the United States alone, sleepy drivers cause at least 100,000 traffic accidents a year. Also sleep problems can cause medical problems such as high blood pressure.
Why are so many people sleep-deprived Part of the reasons may be cultural. In the American culture, people put a higher value on work than on sleep. In fact, people who sleep a lot are usually seen as "lazy". Also, you can sometimes hear some people say proudly that they don't have much time to sleep. They only sleep four or five hours a night. It seems that the less you sleep, the more work you'll do.
How do we teach these people to learn the value of sleep Perhaps they may listen to the advice of Dr. James Maas, an expert in sleep. He says , "Sleep is like a credit card. When you sleep less. you are only borrowing time. You always have to pay it back. The more hours you don't sleep, the more hours you should sleep to ‘pay back' the hours on your ‘sleep credit card'."
For those who value work more than sleep, they should listen to what a famous person once said. "Don't think you will be doing less work because you sleep during the night. That is a foolish idea which is held by people who have no imagination. You will be able to do more."

Birds usually build their nests with sticks, leaves or grass. But do you know that birds are also building their nests with rubbish these years The rubbish includes cigarette butts (烟头) and plastic bags.
A group of European scientists looked into about 35, 000 studies on bird nests. They found that birds have used man-made things in nests almost everywhere on Earth except Antarctica (南极洲). Some rubbish seems to be helpful. This is why birds "like" putting it in their nests. For example, cigarette butts have special smell, so they can keep insects away and protect the baby birds. Plastic bags are useful in keeping the animals warm, and other hard things, such as paper cards, can make nests stronger.
However, in the end, human rubbish may only cause more damage to birds. The toxic (有毒的) chemicals in cigarettes hurt the baby birds. They may get sick or have shorter lives, according to a study.
To make matters worse, if the cigarette still burns when the bird brings it back to its home, it may set fire to the nest. Pieces of fishing net may also trap birds, and it's impossible for them to get out by themselves. If the baby birds eat other kinds of rubbish by accident, they will also get hurt.
Our bird friends in the air are feeling the bad effects of humans polluting the environment. To help them, we can recycle, reduce and reuse the products we use every day. Don't let our products find their way into the natural world.

A.To use more products. B.To help our bird friends.

Why are you study habits different from those of your friends Why do you seem to learn faster in some classes while more slowly in others One reason you may not know is that people have different types. Scientists say there are three different learning types: Visual(视觉型), Auditory(听觉型), and Kinesthetic (动觉型).
Visual learners learn best by seeing. If you seem to easily remember information from pictures, graphs(图表), and videos, you are probably a visual learner. You're not good at copying down what the teacher says in class. Never mind. You can draw graphs or pictures instead, if you find that works better for you.
Auditory learners learn best by hearing. If you seem to easily remember things by hearing them, then you are probably an auditory learner. You must listen carefully while the teacher is speaking because it's the easiest way for you to learn . Sometimes you may find that taking notes tops you from listening carefully. After class, you can write down what you remember or borrow your friend's notes to copy.
Kinesthetic learners learn best by doing. If you seem to learn best by working with your hands, you are probably a kinesthetic learner. Taking notes by writing can make you pay close attention to information as you receive it. Of course, you can learn best by making full use of labs or other class activities.
Hope you learn better by knowing what your personal learning type is.

A guide rides on each raft.",可知每个筏子上都有一位导游。这是一个事实,而不是广告中的个人观点。故答案为:B。
27.推理判断题。根据原文"Everyone loves rafting!"和"Call or e-mail RRA today. Let us help you plan your next adventure.",可以推断出这篇广告是面向那些喜欢冒险、想要计划下一次冒险活动的人,因此最可能对这篇广告感兴趣的是C选项,即喜欢水上运动的人。其他选项如经验丰富的导游、冒险计划者和游泳学习者,在广告中没有明确提及或不符合广告的主要受众。故答案为:C。
28.推理判断题。根据原文"Call or e-mail RRA today. RRA will answer your questions by phone or e-mail.",可知River Raft Adventures(RRA)会通过电话或电子邮件回答您的问题,因此D选项正确。
