Add an additional rebate (退还款) from Colorado’ s largest power provider, a resident buying a new plug-in

That's no mistake.
Colorado’ s current $5,000 tax credit(免税额度) is already the most generous state-level incentive(激励)

Gov. Jared Polis is betting the strategy can help reach a goal of putting nearly a million plug-in vehicles on the road
by 2030.
Here's CPR's guide to all of Colorado’ s current and upcoming electric vehicle discounts:

Welcome to the Chinese mountain city of Dali, also sometimes known as Dalifornia, an oasis for China's
disaffected, drifting or just plain curious.
The area has long been a hub for backpackers and artists, who were attracted by its cheap rents and idyllic old
town, where ancient city gates and white-walled courtyard homes point to the history of the Bai ethnic minority,
who have lived there for thousands of years.
But recently, Dali has been filled with a different crop of wandering souls: young people from China's large
cities, fleeing the intense lifestyles that many of them once longed for. Worn out by the high cost of living, cut-
throat competition, stressful jobs, and record youth unemployment, they have turned Dali into China's destination
of the moment.
A seemingly inescapable buzzword in Dali is healing. Healing yoga, healing camping trips, even healing coffee
shops. The therapeutic atmosphere was especially thick at Veggie Ark, a complex north of the old town that house s
the vegan canteen, yoga studios, gong lessons and a dye workshop. Eventually, it would also include a “self-
sufficiency lab” that Tang Guanhua,34, was building in the courtyard: a wooden dome, constructed by hand, that
when completed would be powered by solar energy, and serve as an exhibition space for handicrafts made with
local materials. “I wanted the lab to encourage visitors to try out more sustainable lifestyles,” said Tang.
Some of the new arrivals say they want to stay forever; others acknowledge they are looking just to try out an
alternative lifestyle before returning to the city grind (苦差事) . Still, even the most cynical (愤世嫉俗的) observer
would admit that the city feels more open and relaxing than most other places in China.
“People here won't deliberately try to assign you labels. You can just be yourself and be seen,” said Joey Chen,
a 22-year-old freelance writer who had dropped out of college and moved to Dall a month earlier from Jiangxi
province. Chen was sitting in the attic reading corner of a bookstore, devouring the Simone de Beauvoir novel All
Men Are Mortal. Downstairs, the walls were decorated with photos of Franz Kafka and Che Guevara.
The question is how long Dali can remain such a harbor.
24. Which factor does NOT contribute to young people's fleeing to Dali
A. High living expenses. B. Heavy job stress.
C. Tight job markets. D. Declining salaries.
25. What does the underlined word “therapeutic” in paragraph 4 mean
A. Silent. B. Comforting. C. Dynamic. D. Mysterious.
26. What can we learn from the passage
A. Some visitors consider Dali as a shelter from heavy workload.
B. Dali is enthusiastic about pursuing sustainable development in tourism.
C. Dali is known as the most inclusive and comfortable place in China.
D. Visitors are likely to be defined unintentionally in Dali.
27. What might be discussed after the last paragraph
A. Recommended tourist spots in Dali. B. Existing problems of Dali's tourism.
C. Visitors’ impressive encounters in Dali. D. Detailed plans for Dali's future development.

A new study involving nearly 50,000 people from four continents offers new insights into identifying th e
quantity of daily walking steps that will best improve adults' health and longevity( 长寿), and whether the ideal
number of steps differs across people of different ages. The study represents an effort to develop an evidence-based
public health message about the benefits physical activity. The often-repeated 10,000-step-a-day saying grew out
of a decades-old marketing activity for a Japanese pedometer(步器), with no science to back it up.
Led by physical activity professor Amanda Paluch, an international group of scientists conducted an
experiment among adults aged 18 and older. They grouped the nearly50 ,000participants into four comparative
groups according to average steps per day. The lowest step group averaged 3,500 steps; the second, 5,800; the third,
7,800; and the fourth, 10,900steps per day. Among the three higher active groups, there was a 40-53%6 lower risk
of death compared to the lowest step group.
More specifically, for adults 60 and older, the risk of early death leveled off at aboul6,000-8 ,000 steps pe r
day, meaning that more steps than that provided no additional benefit for longevity, while for adults younger than
60, about 8 ,000-10 ,000 steps per day.
“So, what we saw was this continuing reduction in risk as the number of steps increases until it levels of.
Interestingly, the study found no definitive association with walking speed, Paluch says.
The new study supports and expands findings from another study led by Paluch before which found that
walking at least 7,000 steps a day reduced middle-aged people's risk of early death, “There's a lot of evidence
suggesting that moving even a little more is beneficial particularly for those who are doing very little activity,”
Paluch says. “More steps per day are better for your health.”
28. Why did the scientists carry out the new study
A. To know about people's health condition.
B. To explain the pedometer's working principles.
C. To determine the best physical activity for people
D. To provide a scientific guideline on daily walking.
29. What does the underlined words “leveled off” in paragraph 3 mean
A. Turned higher. B. Became stable. C. Fell sharply. D. Changed rapidly.
30. What does the experiment find
A. The old should walk as much as possible.
B. Young people usually walk more than the old.
C. The most beneficial steps differ by age groups
D. Walking pace is the key to avoiding early death.
31. What does Paluch advise people doing little activity to do
A. To walk more steps. B. To control walking speed.
C. To limit walking distance. D. To track the number of steps.

In my memory, winters always used to be really unpleasant. You had to wear more clothes just to keep warm
when you went outside. You were often cold and wet. If you didn't have a terrible slide, you'd arrive home to an
ice-cold house. And that would mean turning on the heating and waiting. It's a miracle you didn't get cold to the
bone.
Fortunately, things don't have to be so challenging any more. Technology, engineering and design have
advanced giving us new solutions to old problems. It means dealing with winter needn't be like skating on thin ice.
With a smart thermostat(恒温器), our homes can be comfortable when we need them. Many models feature
smartphone apps that allow you to regulate temperature remotely, so we can warm
upthehousebeforewearrivehome., the largest UK-based consumer technology news and
reviews website, Tado’ s model features voice control, while the Nest ‘learns’ your habits and automatically heats
the home for you.
Clothes have been given an upgrade, too. Electronic thermal jackets heat up when you turn them on. What
better way to keep comfortable in the dead of winter At the touch of a button, or through an app on our phones,
the clothing generates heat from elements placed inside. Many models offer three levels of heating which stay warm
for over 12 hours.
Finally, there is the headgear— beanies(女帽) and earmuffs(耳罩) that feature speakers included in the fabric
using Bluetooth technology so we can listen to our favourite music or in some cases, have a phone call using the in-
built microphone. At the same time we can keep the head warm and avoid cold.
For many, the thought of winter used to be enough to make their blood run cold. But using technology, life
needn't freeze up. With the right solutions, there's no reason why winter can't be really, really cool.
32. What's the writing purpose of paragraph 1
A. To lead in some amazing advances.
B. To sell electronic thermal jackets.
C. To explain the benefits of modern houses.
D. To tell readers unpleasant winters in the past.
33. What can we do using a smart thermostat and a phone
A. Make winter cool. B. Track your daily routines.
C. Browse the website easily. D. Adjust temperatures remotely.
34. How does electronic thermal clothes work
A. By giving them an upgrade.
B. By producing heat from elements put inside.
C. By generating energy to keep you comfortable.
D. By learning your habit of wearing jackets or parkas.
35. Where are the speakers in a Bluetooth beanie
A. They are put in an earphone. B. They are hidden in the phone.
C. They are included in the fabric. D. They are placed in a small case.

They say scuba diving opens up a world of possibilities, from learning new skills to exploring places beyond
your imagination. A few years ago, I was lucky enough to experience all these on a reef dive at the Gili Islands in
Indonesia.
After my first dive, I realized that it has far more in common with yoga than it does with extreme sports. On
land, switching off your brain can be a struggle. Breathing is something that just happens without thinking. When
you' re diving, it's a totally different ball game. 36You' re suddenly aware of how your movements connect wit h
each intake of breath.
It's hard to feel distracted(分神的) when diving. Nature is putting on such a show-stopping performance that
your attention is fully absorbed. You' re right there on the stage, in the moment.3 7
Something I hadn't really considered before my first scuba div e was just how human-centric our lives are on
land. Everything seems to go around the human experience. But when you dive, it's a different story entirely. 3 8
A guest in someone else's home.
39 Almost everything in front of you is alive and part of a delicate ecosystem of life. Here, clownfish weav e
among the anemones(海葵) and parrotfish feed on their favorite coral (珊瑚). 40 Nothing is ours to take o r
touch. Suddenly, your own world feels rather tiny and you realize you' re just part of the world.
A. All of a sudden, you' re the outsider.
B. Everything here has its place and purpose.
C. This is what living in the present feels like.
D. Rarely do you take the time to stop and just “be”.
E. Exploring the undersea world is a humbling experience.
F. Your breathing becomes slow, purposeful and rhythmic.
G. Your heart races, your breath quickens and logical thinking goes out.

I stared at myself in the mirror: blue tights, yellow vest, a fish tail trailing behind me, and large eyes siting at
op my head. I raised my eyebrows and sighed.
“Mom, I don't think this costume is right, "I said. “Maybe the makeup will add something,” Mom replied
hopefully.
Somehow Mom had convinced me to play the Fish Footman in Alice in Wonderland. I can't say it's been the
time of my life
“What if I forget my lines ” I hesitated.
“Oh Riley, is that what you' re afraid of I know you've been rehearsing for two months, you were the first off-
book in your scene, and I couldn't be prouder of you. " Mom said, kneeling down and hugging me.
The next day we pulled into the parking lot, and I stepped out of the car, wearing the questionable costume. I
shrank inside myself, but Mom pulled me toward the makeup room. When the makeup was done, I looked at myself
in the mirror. My jaw dropped.
“Mom! I can't go onstage like this!” I cried.
“Why not ”
“I'd be a laughing stock(笑柄)!”
“Riley, look around you! You' re not the only one in an odd costume.”
“What if we just sneak out No one will miss me.” I whispered.
Mom's lips disappeared into a thin line, and I knew I had gone too far. “Riley, I'm going to watch you go out
on that stage tonight. And that's the end of it. " Then mom disappeared into the audience. I sat there, alone and
bored, as the play began and the curtain rose on.
The two boys dressed as Two of Clubs(梅花 2) near me chatted casually about this and that. Suddenly, they
asked, “You' re awfully quiet. Is this your first show ” I tried to respond, but my voice caught in my throat and
refused to escape. I coughed and nearly yelled, “YES!” The Ace of Diamonds(方块 A) sitting nearby laughed. “The
audience will certainly hear you if you talk that loud. But you might have to clear your throat first, " she chuckled.
I gave them a weak smile.
“Don't worry about us, " the Ace said. “We' re only teasing.”
“Yeah,” the Two said. “When you've done as many shows as we have, projecting will be second nature to
you.”
Paragraph 1: When my name was called, I stepped onto the stage uneasily:
Paragraph 2: Suddenly I was determined to make a lasting impression.YLZX2025届高三二模考试卷英语答题卡
