Electric cars a ( http: / / www.21cnjy.com )re dirty. In fact, not only are they dirty, they might even be dirtier than their gasoline-powered cousins.
People in Califor ( http: / / www.21cnjy.com )nia love to talk about “zero-emissions (零排放的) vehicles,” but people in California seem to be clueless about where electricity comes from. Power plants most all use fire to make it. Aside from the few folks who have their roofs covered with solar cells, we get our electricity from generators (发电机). Generators are fueled by something — usually coal, oil, but also by heat generated in nuclear power plants. There are a few wind farms and geothermal plants as well, but by far we get electricity mainly by burning something.
In other words, thos ( http: / / www.21cnjy.com )e “zero-emissions” cars are likely coal-burning cars. It’s just that the coal is burned somewhere else so it looks clean. It is not. It’s as if the California Greens (加州绿党) are covering their eyes — “If I can’t see it, it’s not happening.” Gasoline is an incredibly efficient way to power a vehicle; a gallon of gas has a lot of energy in it. But when you take that gas (or another fuel) and first use it to make electricity, you waste a nice part of that energy, mostly in the form of wasted heat — at the generator, through the transmission lines, etc.
A gallon of gas ( http: / / www.21cnjy.com )may power your car 25 miles. But the electricity you get from that gallon of gas won’t get you nearly as far — so electric cars burn more fuel than gas-powered ones. If our electricity came mostly from nukes, or geothermal, or hydro, or solar, or wind, then an electric car truly would be clean. But for political, technical, and economic reasons, we don’t use much of those energy sources.
In addition, electr ( http: / / www.21cnjy.com )ic cars’ batteries which are poisonous for a long time will eventually end up in a landfill. And finally, when cars are the polluters, the pollution is spread across all the roads. When it’s a power plant, though, all the junk is in one place. Nature is very good at cleaning up when things are not too concentrated, but it takes a lot longer when all the garbage is in one spot.
70. Which of the fo ( http: / / www.21cnjy.com )llowing words can replace “be clueless about” in paragraph 2
A. Be familiar with. B. Be curious about.
C. Show their interest in. D. Fail to understand.
71. What can ( http: / / www.21cnjy.com )we learn about the California Green from the idea “If I can’t see it, it’s not happening”
A. They do not know those clean cars are likely coal-burning cars.
B. They do ( http: / / www.21cnjy.com )believe the coal is burned somewhere else so it looks clean.
C. They tend to hold that electricity is a nice part of energy.
D. They tend to mai ( http: / / www.21cnjy.com )ntain that gasoline is a good way to run a vehicle.
72. According to t ( http: / / www.21cnjy.com )he passage, compared with cars using gas, electric cars are more _______.
A. environmentally-friendly B. expensive
C. harmful D. efficient
73. We can get the conclusion from the passage that _______.
A. being green is good and should be encouraged in communication
B. electric cars a ( http: / / www.21cnjy.com )re not clean in that we get electricity mainly by burning something
C. zero-emissio ( http: / / www.21cnjy.com )ns vehicles should be chosen to protect our environment
D. electric ( http: / / www.21cnjy.com )cars are now the dominant vehicle compared with gasoline-powered cousins

Directions: Rea ( http: / / www.21cnjy.com )d the following three passages. Each passage is followed by several questions or unfinished statements. For each of them there are four choices marked A, B, C and D. Choose the one that fits best according to the information given in the passage you have just read.
For the most p ( http: / / www.21cnjy.com )art, it seems, workers in rich countries have little to fear from globalization, and a lot to gain. But is the same thing true for workers in poor countries The answer is that they are even more likely than their rich-country counterparts (地位相当的人) to benefit, because they have less to lose and more to gain.
Traditional economi ( http: / / www.21cnjy.com )cs takes an optimistic line on integration (整合) and the developing countries. Openness to foreign trade and investment should encourage capital to flow to poor economies. In the developing world, capital is scarce, so the returns on investment there should be higher than in the industrialized countries, where the best opportunities to make money by adding capital to labour have already been used up. If poor countries lower their barriers to trade and investment, the theory goes, rich foreigners will want to send over some of their capital.
If this inflow of res ( http: / / www.21cnjy.com )ources arrives in the form of loans or portfolio investment (组合投资), it will top up domestic savings and loosen the financial restriction on additional investment by local companies. If it arrives in the form of new foreign-controlled operations, FDI, so much the better: this kind of capital brings technology and skills from abroad packaged along with it, with less financial risk as well. In either case, the addition to investment ought to push incomes up, partly by raising the demand for labour and partly by making labour more productive.
This is ( http: / / www.21cnjy.com )why workers in FDI-receiving countries should be in an even better position to profit from integration than workers in FDI-sending countries. Also, with or without inflows of foreign capital, the same gains from trade should apply in developing countries as in rich ones. This gains from trade logic often arouses suspicion, because the benefits seem to come from nowhere. Surely one side or the other must lose. Not so. The benefits that a rich country gets through trade do not come at the expense of its poor country trading partners, or vice versa. Recall that according to the theory, trade is a positive sum game. In all these trades, both sides—exporters and importers, borrowers and lenders, shareholders and workers can gain.
74. Why are workers in ( http: / / www.21cnjy.com ) poor countries more likely to benefit from the process of globalization
A. They can get more chances to gain a good job.
B. They can get more financial aid.
C. They have nothing to lose.
D. They have less to lose and more to gain.
75. What can be the final result of the inflow of the resource
A. It will top up domestic savings.
B. It will loosen the financial restriction.
C. It will push people’s incomes up.
D. It will bring technology and skills from abroad.
76. What can we know from the last paragraph
A. Poor countries get the most profit during the process of trade.
B. Rich countries get profit from trade at poor countries’ expense.
C. Poor countries get more profit from trade than rich ones.
D. All aspects involved in the trade can get benefit.
77. Which can be the most appropriate title for this passage
A. Benefited or Hurt B. Who Benefits the Most
C. Helping the Poor D. The Inflow of Resources
74. D 75. C 76. D 77. B

These are the k ( http: / / www.21cnjy.com )inds of statements used in magazine, newspaper, radio and television ads, promising good shapes and new looks to those who buy the medicine or the device. The promoters of products say they can shape the legs, slim the face, smooth wrinkles, or in some other way add to beauty or desirability.
Often such products ( http: / / www.21cnjy.com )are nothing more than money-making things for their promoters. The results they produce are questionable, and some are dangerous to health.
To understand ho ( http: / / www.21cnjy.com )w these products can be legally promoted to the public, it is necessary to understand something of the laws covering their regulation. If the product is a drug, FDA (Food Drug Administration) can require proof under the Food, Drug and Cosmetic Act that it is safe and effective before it is put on the market. But if the product is a device, FDA has no authority to require premarketing proof of safety or effectiveness. If a product already on the market is a danger to health, FDA can request the producer or distributor to remove it from the market voluntarily, or it can take legal action, including seizure (查封) of the product.
One notable c ( http: / / www.21cnjy.com )ase a few years ago involved an electrical device called the Relaxacisor, which had been sold for reducing the waistline. The Relaxacisor produced electrical shocks to the body through contact pads. FDA took legal action against the distributor to stop the sale of the device on the grounds that was dangerous to health and life.
Obviously, most of ( http: / / www.21cnjy.com ) the devices on the market have never been the subject of court proceedings (法律诉讼), and new devices appear continually, Before buying, it is up to the consumer to judge the safety or effectiveness of such items.

Humans are natura ( http: / / www.21cnjy.com )lly drawn to other life forms and the worlds outside of our own. We take delight in the existence of creatures and even whole societies beyond our everyday lives.
This sense of ( http: / / www.21cnjy.com ) wonder is universal. Look at the efforts that scientists have made to find out whether life of some kind exists on Mars, and the popularity of fantasy literature or movies like The Lord of the Rings. This sense of wonder draws us to each other, to the world around us, and to the world of make-believe. But have we gone so far in creating worlds of fantasy that we are missing the pleasure of other worlds that already exist all around us
Human beings, a ( http: / / www.21cnjy.com )s biologists have suggested, possess an inborn desire to connect with and understand other life forms, However, people, especially in big cities, often lead rather isolated lives. In a study of British schoolchildren, it was found that children by age eight were much more familiar with characters from television shows and video games than with common wildlife. Without modern technology, a small pond could be an amazing world filled with strange and beautiful plants, insects, birds, and animals. When we lack meaningful interaction with the world around us, and sometimes even with our families and friends, we seek to understand and communicate with things that exist only in our imaginations or on a computer screen.
The world of make— ( http: / / www.21cnjy.com )believe is not necessarily bad. But when the world of fantasy becomes the only outlet for our sense of wonder, then we are really missing something. We are missing a connection with the living world. Other wonderful worlds exist all around us. But even more interesting is that if we look closely enough, we can see that these worlds, in a broad sense, are really part of our own.
47.The popularity of The Lord of the Rings proves _____.
A. the close connection between man and the fantasy world
B. the wonderful achievements of fantasy literature
C. the fine taste of moviegoers around the world
D. the general existence of the sense of curiosity
48.What can we infer from the underlined sentence in Paragraph 3
A. People are far less familiar with the world of fantasy.
B. The world around us could serve as a sound of wonder.
C. The world of ( http: / / www.21cnjy.com ) fantasy can be mirrored by a small and lively pond.
D. Modern ( http: / / www.21cnjy.com ) technology prevents us from developing our sense of wonder.
49.If our se ( http: / / www.21cnjy.com )nse of wonder relies totally on the world of make—believe, we will _____.
A. fail to appreciate the joy in our lives
B. be confused by the world of make—believe
C. miss the chance to recognize the fantasy world
D. be trapped by other worlds existing all around us
50.What is the main purpose of the passage
A. To show us the hidden beauty in our world.
B. To warn us not to get lost in the fantasy world.
C. To argue against the misuse of the sense of wonder.
D. To discuss the influence of the world of make—believe.

Foxes and farmers h ( http: / / www.21cnjy.com )ave never got on well. These small dog-like animals have long been accused of killing farm animals. They are officially classified as harmful and farmers try to keep their numbers down by shooting or poisoning them.
Farmers can also cal ( http: / / www.21cnjy.com )l on the services of their local hunt to control the fox population. Hunting consists of pursuing a fox across the countryside, with a group of specially trained dogs, followed by men and women riding horses. When the dogs eventually catch the fox they kill it or a hunter shoots it.
People who take par ( http: / / www.21cnjy.com )t in hunting think of it as a sport; they wear a special uniform of red coats and white trousers, and follow strict codes of behavior. But owning a horse and hunting regularly is expensive, so most hunters are wealthy.
It is estimated that u ( http: / / www.21cnjy.com )p to 100,000 people watch or take part in fox hunting. But over the last couple of decades the number of people opposed to fox hunting, because they think it is cruel, has risen sharply. Nowadays it is rare for a hunt to pass off without some kind of conflict between hunters and hunt saboteurs (阻拦者). Sometimes these incidents lead to violence, but mostly saboteurs interfere (干涉) with the hunt by misleading riders and disturbing the trail of the fox’s smell, which the dogs follow.
Noisy conflicts ( http: / / www.21cnjy.com ) between hunters and saboteurs have become so common that they are almost as much a part of hunting as the pursuit of foxes itself. But this year supporters of fox hunting face a much bigger threat to their sport. A Labour Party Member of the Parliament, Mike Foster, is trying to get Parliament to approve a new law which will make the hunting of wild animals with dogs illegal. If the law is passed, wild animals like foxes will be protected under the ban in Britain.

As you grow ol ( http: / / www.21cnjy.com )der, you’ll be faced with some challenging decisions—like whether to cut class or try cigarettes. Making decisions on your own is hard enough, but when other people get involved and try to pressure you one way or another it can be even harder. People who are your age, like your classmates, are called peers. When they try to influence how you act, to get you to do something, it’s called peer pressure.
Peers can have a posit ( http: / / www.21cnjy.com )ive influence on each other. Maybe another student in your science class taught you an easy way to remember the planets in the solar system. Maybe you got others excited about your new favorite book, and now everyone’s reading it. These are examples of how peers positively influence each other.
Sometimes peers influ ( http: / / www.21cnjy.com )ence each other in negative ways. For example, a few kids in school might try to get you to cut class with them; your soccer friend might try to convince you to be mean to another player and never pass him the ball.
It is tough to be the ( http: / / www.21cnjy.com )only one who says “no” to peer pressure, but you can do it. Paying attention to your own feelings and beliefs about what is right and wrong can help you know the right thing to do.
You’ve probably ( http: / / www.21cnjy.com ) had a parent or teacher advising you to “choose your friends wisely.” Peer pressure is a big reason why they say this. If you choose friends who don’t cut class, smoke cigarettes, or lie to their parents, then you probably won’t do these things either, even if other kids do.
If you continue to ( http: / / www.21cnjy.com )face peer pressure and you’re finding it difficult to handle, talk to someone you trust. Don’t feel guilty if you’ve made a mistake or two.

From the firs ( http: / / www.21cnjy.com )t use of the rocket to carry satellites into space to the setting up of space stations, human beings have been putting great effort into space research. And so far, we have achieved many successes. But there are still numerous tasks in front of us and we should not stop trying to progress.
The international space station (ISS) is an important step we should take in space exploration. It is not only helpful but also essential. It provides a proper space environment for many experiments that we have wanted to do for a long time. It is also a base for the observations of the earth and the universe. It could also be an important base for later travel to the moon and Mars. In a word, if we want to explore space more, the first thing we should do is to set up a space station.
As the space station costs a lot of money, it is hard for one country alone to establish one. The USA seems to be the only country that has the ability to build a space station alone, and it has tried to do so, but not very successful. So it aggregated many other countries to work on it together. Though it is still extremely expensive, it is much cheaper than doing it alone. It is really a job that needs everyone’s effort and will benefit everyone.
Led by the U.S. an ( http: / / www.21cnjy.com )d Russia, the ISS is a joint project between six space agencies involving 16 countries. Called the greatest achievement in human cooperation, the ISS has come to the end of a ten-year’s hard work in construction. China has applied for participation in (taking part in) the project many times. Unfortunately all the applications were rejected, which drove China onto the path of independent development. As the Long March Ⅱ-F/T1 carrier rocket blasted off (leave the ground) and successfully carried the Tiangong-1 into space on September 29, 2011, China takes a big step toward its Space Station Era.
Some West media sugg ( http: / / www.21cnjy.com )ested that the successful launch of Tiangong-1 would disturb the balance of global space power, raising concerns (关注) about “China threat”. China’s space project is not designed for military (军事的) purpose but for developing space technology to explore space resources and make use of them for mankind’s well-being.
45. From Paragraph 2 we learn that ________.
A. the necessity ( http: / / www.21cnjy.com )of building the international space station is not realized now
B. many experiments have been done in the international space station
C. the internatio ( http: / / www.21cnjy.com )nal space station is necessary for people to explore space more
D. people have traveled to Mars from the international space station
46. Which of t ( http: / / www.21cnjy.com )he following is NOT a reason for countries’ cooperation in building the international space station
A. That it requi ( http: / / www.21cnjy.com )res a lot of money. B. That it needs everyone’s effort.
C. That it will be ( http: / / www.21cnjy.com )nefit every participating country. D. That it is too far away from the earth.
47.The underlined ( http: / / www.21cnjy.com )word “aggregated” in Paragraph 3 can be replaced by “________”.
A. united B. scolded C. allowed D. forbade
48. China wants to build its space station in order to __________.
A. break the balance of global space power
B. show that China can build space station alone
C. raise international concerns about “China threat”
D. make use of space peacefully for mankind’s well-being

Running on Empty
For almost a century, ( http: / / www.21cnjy.com ) scientists have assumed, tiredness-or exhaustion-in athletes originates in the muscles(肌肉).Precise explanations have varied, but all have been based on the "Limitations Theory".In other words, muscles tire because they hit a physical limit; they either run out of fuel or oxygen or they drown in harmful by-products (副产品).
In the past few ( http: / / www.21cnjy.com )years, however, Timothy Noakes from the University of Cape Town. South Africa, has examined this standard theory.Tiredness, he argues, is caused not by signals springing from overtaxed muscles, but is an emotional response which begins in the brain. The fundamental nature of his new theory is that the brain paces the muscles to keep them well back from the edge of exhaustion. When the brain decides it’s time to quit, it creates unbearable muscle tiredness. This "Central Governor" theory remains controversial, but it does-explain many puzzling aspects of athletic performance.
A recent discove ( http: / / www.21cnjy.com )ry that Noakes calls the "lactic acid paradox" made him start researching this area seriously.Lactic acid is a by-product of exercise, and the increase of it is often mentioned as a cause of tiredness. But when research subjects exercise in certain conditions created artificially, they become tired even though lactic acid levels remain low.
Nor has the oxyge ( http: / / www.21cnjy.com )n content of their blood fallen too low for them to keep going.Obviously, something else was making them tire before they hit either of these physiological limits. Noakes conducted an experiment with seven cyclists. It has long been known that during exercise, the body never uses 100% of the available muscle fibres (纤维).The amount used varies; but in some tasks such as this cycling test the body calls on about 30%.His team found that as tiredness set in, the electrical activity in cyclist's legs declined-even when they were making a great effort to cycle as fast as they could.
To Noakes, this was ( http: / / www.21cnjy.com )strong evidence that the old theory was wrong."The cyclists may have felt completely exhausted," he says, "but their bodies actually had considerable reserves that they could theoretically tap by using a greater amount of the resting fibres."
This, he belie ( http: / / www.21cnjy.com )ves; is the proof that the brain is regulating the pace of the workout to hold the well back from the point of extreme tiredness.

In a time of low academic achievement by children in the United States, many Americans are turning to Japan, a country of high academic achievement and economic success, for possible answers. However, the answers provided by Japanese preschools are not the ones Americans expected to find. In most Japanese preschools,s urprisingly little emphasis is put on academic instruction. In one investigation, 300 Japanese and 210 American preschool teachers, child development specialists, and parents were asked about various aspects of early childhood education. Only 2 percent of the Japanese respondents listed “to give children a good start academically” as one of their top three reasons for a society to have preschools. In contrast, over half the American respondents chose this as one of their top three choices. To prepare children for successful careers in first grade and beyond, Japanese schools do not teach reading, writing, and mathematics, but rather skills such as persistence, concentration, and the ability to function as a member of a group. The majority of young Japanese children are taught to read at home by their parents.
In the recent compar ( http: / / www.21cnjy.com )ison of Japanese and American preschool education, 91 percent of Japanese respondents chose providing children with a group experience as one of their top three reasons for a society to have preschools. 62 percent of the more individually oriented(强调个性发展的)Americans listed group experience as one of their top three choices. An emphasis on the importance of the group seen in Japanese early childhood education continues into elementary school education.
Like in America, the ( http: / / www.21cnjy.com )re is diversity in Japanese early childhood education. Yet, psychologists say ( http: / / www.21cnjy.com ), many employees and employers have trouble with the concept of politics in the office. Lumberjack Art
When people think ( http: / / www.21cnjy.com )of an artist, they probably do not imagine a lumberjack(伐木工人)cutting down trees with a chainsaw.Yet many lumberjacks consider themselves to be artists. Instead of.patiently working on a large block of hard rock, however, lumberjack artists use chainsaws to..carve their, masterpieces from wood.
Wooden, sculp ( http: / / www.21cnjy.com )tures (雕塑) created with chainsaws are perfect examples of folk art. Everyday tools are used to create art that focuses on subjects found in nature, such as bears or other forest animals. Not all lumberjacks are artists, but some chainsaw artists have been lumberjacks.
A lumberjack, who i ( http: / / www.21cnjy.com )s also an artist might cut down a tree during a workday. If the stump, the bottom of the tree, is a good size, the artist might be motivated to sculpt the stump into the shape of a forest animal. The chainsaw artist might also carve other large blocks of wood.Sometimes a homeowner might cut down a tree in the yard and then hire a chainsaw artist to create an outdoor sculpture from the stump. So, this art owes its origins to everyday tasks and nature.
The origins of chains ( http: / / www.21cnjy.com )aw art may be humble (不起眼的), but the practice has expanded well beyond turning a stump into a sculpture. In some ways chainsaw artists are like traditional woodcarvers. One artist said that using chainsaws was simply more practical. This person began his work as a traditional woodcarver-that is, he used hand tools to .carve the wood into the shapes he wanted. To save time, he began using a chainsaw to remove some parts of the wooden block. This artist realized that the chainsaw not only cut down large pieces of wood quickly, but also produced a distinctive and beautiful pattern on- the: wood. These patterns would not be seen in other pieces of art.Eventually, the artist began using the chainsaw for nearly all of his carvings.
However unusual it ma ( http: / / www.21cnjy.com )y seem, chainsaw art is here to stay. The final test of success for any type of art is the enthusiasm and acceptance of the public. The conclusion is; people love watching chainsaw artists work, and people love the sculptures they create.

Drunken driving—some ( http: / / www.21cnjy.com )times called America’s socially accepted form of murder—has become a national epidemic(流行病). Every hour of every day about three Americans on average are killed by drunken drivers, adding up to an incredible 250,000 over the past ten years. A drunken driver is usually referred to as one with 0.10-blood alcohol content or roughly three beer glasses of wine or shots of whisky drunk within two hours. Heavy drinking used to be an acceptable part of the American manly image and judges were lenient in most courts, but the drunken killing has recently caused so many well-publicized tragedies, especially concerning young children, that public opinion is no longer so tolerant(忍受).
Twenty states ( http: / / www.21cnjy.com ) have raised the legal drinking age to 21, reversing a trend(逆转潮流)in the 1960s to reduce it to 18. After New Jersey lowered it to 18, the number of people killed by 18—20-year-old drivers more than doubled, so the state recently upped it back to 21.
Reformers, howe ( http: / / www.21cnjy.com )ver, fear raising the drinking age will have little effect unless accompanied by educational programs to help young people to develop “responsible attitudes” about drinking and teach them to resist peer pressure to drink.
Though new l ( http: / / www.21cnjy.com )aws have led to increased arrests and tests in many areas already, to a marked drop in accidents, some states are also punishing bars for serving customers too many drinks. A bar in Massachusetts was fined for serving six or more double brandies to a customer who was “obviously drunk” and later drove off the road, killing a nine-year-old boy.
As the accidents conti ( http: / / www.21cnjy.com )nue to occur daily in every state, some Americans are even beginning to speak well of the 13 years national prohibition(禁令)of alcohol that began in 1919, which President Hoover called the “noble experiment”. They forgot that legal prohibition didn’t stop drinking, but encouraged political corruption(腐败)and organized crime. As with the booming drug trade generally, there is no easy solution.

As demand for power ( http: / / www.21cnjy.com )and fuel grows steadily in the coming decades, we must consider every possible energy source at hand if we’re to meet the world’s needs. And because clean natural gas is found in great plenty, there is little doubt that it will play a major role on the world energy stage in this century, much like oil did in the last. But, like oil gas reserves are concentrated in just a few places in the world, usually far from where they’re needed most. And that’s only part of the challenge. The world has had well over 100 years to search for oil and to build the necessary facilities to bring it to market; the natural gas facilities, particularly when it comes to liquefied natural gas (LNG), is not nearly as developed.
So what needs to be d ( http: / / www.21cnjy.com )one On the supply side, producing nations need policies that allow for better development of their natural gas in an open, stable business environment, not one in which the rules of game change without warning. The sustainable development to ensure they’ll have enough supplies in the future, that means building the related facilities, including LNG stations. This, in turn, will require coastal areas to allow these necessary, but not necessarily pretty, facilities to be built in their backyards. How Room Designs Affect Our Work and Feelings
Architects have l ( http: / / www.21cnjy.com )ong had the feeling that the places we live in can affect our thoughts, feelings and behaviors. But now scientists are giving this feeling an empirical basis. They are discovering how to design spaces that promote creativity, keep people focused and lead to relaxation.
Researches show that a ( http: / / www.21cnjy.com )spects of the physical environment can influence creativity. In 2007, Joan Meyers—Levy at the University of Minnesota, reported that the height of a room’s ceiling affects how people think. Her research indicates that higher ceilings encourage people to think more freely, which may lead them to make more abstract connections. Low ceilings, on the other hand, may inspire a more detailed outlook.
In additions ( http: / / www.21cnjy.com )to ceiling height, the view afforded by a building may influence an occupant’s ability to concentrate. Nancy Wells and her colleagues at Cornell University found in their study that kids who experienced the greatest increase in greenness as a result of a family move made the most gains on a standard test of attention.
Using nature ( http: / / www.21cnjy.com ) to improve focus of attention ought to pay off academically, and it seems to, according to a study led by C. Kenneth Tanner, head of the School Design & Planning Laboratory at the University of Georgia. Tanner and his team found that students in classrooms with unblocked views of at least 50 feet outside the window had higher scores on tests of vocabulary, language arts and maths than did students whose classrooms primarily overlooked roads and parking lots.
Recent study on roo ( http: / / www.21cnjy.com )m lighting design suggests than dim light helps people to loosen up. If that is true generally, keeping the light low during dinner or at parties could increase relaxation. Researchers of Harvard Medical School also discovered that furniture with rounded edges could help visitors relax.
So far scientists h ( http: / / www.21cnjy.com )ave focused mainly on public buildings. “We have a very limited number of studies, so we’re almost looking at the problem through a straw,” architect David Allison says. “How do you take answers to very specific questions and make broad, generalized use of them That's what we’re all struggling with.”
