段中 句子之间的衔接关系 除根据前后句的意思理清与空前空后句的逻辑关系外,要特别留意表示逻辑关系的标志词:表示转折的but, however, yet, nevertheless, although/though/while, otherwise, on the contrary, instead等。表示解释(举例)的that means, that is, that is to say, in other words, namely, for example, for instance及冒号和破折号等;表示并列的and , or, not only...but also…, one.…another…., some.…others...still others.…, for one thing...for another等;表示递进的even, also, besides, furthermore, what’s more, in addition等;表示因果的because, since, as, so, consequently, therefore, as a result, so/such...that, so that等;
解题时,直接选出含 Here are some tips…
结论句或总结句常有so, therefore, thus, in a word, in conclusion, all in all, to summerize, in short等等。

In the competitive job market, the best advice for job seekers is to move away from mass-submitting résumés (简历) and instead focus on sending thoughtful cold emails. ___16___. They are clarity about your goals, effective articulation, and identifying the right recipient.
The process begins by creating a targeted list of dream companies, specific roles, and relevant contacts. ___17___ — understand their responses to market shifts, analyze brand messaging, and observe key employees’ online presence. This research forms the foundation for a well-informed perspective on the company, which will inform your email content. When crafting your email, follow a proven framework:

Demonstrate Research-Based Context: Share insights about recent developments at the company or within its market. Highlighting a recent product launch, strategic initiative, or new partnership shows genuine interest and aligns your goals with the company’s objectives.
Highlight Your Strengths: Connect your skills directly to the company’s needs. Explain how your strengths can contribute to their growth, solve problems, or enhance their competitive edge.
___19___. Analysis of millions of successful emails shows that the most effective ones are between 25-50 words and written at a third-to fifth-grade reading level. Short paragraphs and simple sentences yield better engagement. Personalized, thoughtful emailing is a game-changer. Although only 4.1% of emails are manually personalized, those who invest the effort see significant rewards. For job seekers willing to go the extra mile, this approach offers substantial benefits.
In summary, transitioning from mass submissions to personalized cold emails requires effort. ___20___.

Find a private space and allow emotions to surface. If tears of joy, sadness or frustration arise, express them. ____16____ It may sound dramatic, but it’s a valid feeling and it’s perfectly fine to experience sorrow when something important has ended. Remember that the intensity will pass and will do so more smoothly when the built-up emotions have been released.
____17____ Whether pushing yourself to the limits in a physical challenge or spending months ensuring an event’s success, it’s important to take time afterwards to rest your mind and body. Relax, eat nutritiously, enjoy some gentle exercise, and go to bed early for revitalizing sleep. ____18____
Make Time for Reflection
____19____ How did it go What did you learn Would you do something differently next time This period of reflection, without dwelling too long on the matter of being self-critical, can provide valuable insights. Appreciate what you did and recognize all the good that came from the experience. View the event as simply the end of one chapter and the beginning of the next.
Acknowledge the Negative
If aspects of the event didn’t go as well as planned, put it down to experience. Consider if there’s anything to be learned from it, but don’t keep going over what happened. Surrender to the thoughts and then let them go. ____20____
A. Rest and Revitalize
B. Address the Challenge
C. After a few days, think back over the event.
D. Emotions are a natural part of the human experience.

Winter can be a tough time for many people. The cold weather, shorter days, and lack of sunlight can all contribute to a feeling of tiredness and depression. 16 Many people experience these “winter blues,” and there are ways to overcome them.
17 Waking up at the same time every day, even on weekends, helps regulate your body’s internal clock and keeps your energy levels stable. This consistency can help you feel more balanced and less likely to be affected by winter depression.
Light is another key factor. Exposure to sunlight increases the production of serotonin (血清素), a chemical in your brain that improves your mood. This also helps you feel less tired, because the serotonin tells your body to make melatonin (褪黑素), a chemical that helps you sleep. 18 If that’s not possible, at least turn on your lights when you wake up. Doing something simple, like taking out the trash or going for a short walk, can also help.
Eating balanced meals is also important. Foods rich in tryptophan (色氨酸), such as meat, fish, and soy, can help your body produce more serotonin. 19 .
Spending time with other people can also help. Being alone too much can make you feel worse—but being too busy can be stressful, so don’t meet more people than you feel comfortable meeting! 20 If these changes don’t make you feel better, it’s important to seek professional help. A doctor can diagnose winter depression and prescribe appropriate treatment, such as therapy or medication, to help you feel better.
A.Try to keep it balanced.
B.But you’re not alone in this struggle.
C.But fighting winter depression is all up to you.
D.It’s important to try to get some sunlight in the morning.
E.Sleeping late in the morning is good for produce serotonin.
F.Having a routine is very important to fighting winter depression.
G.This can further improve your mood and reduce feelings of tiredness.
D
When parents are on their phones a lot, what will happen to their kids Parents who stare at their screens instead of talking to their kids aren’t just modeling poor behavior, but they could be preventing their children's language development, a new study found.
Parents who use screens more have children who use screens more. And those children have a lower talent in grammar and vocabulary. When screens are in use, either by a parent or a child, there is less talking, teaching and reading in house-holds. ___16___
What’s more, when kids watch screens with their parents, the study found it doesn’t help their language skills. ___17___ For example, kids ages 24 to 30 months learn new verbs when they are taught through a live interaction or even video chat, but not by watching a video, according to a September 2023 study.
The study suggests parents should try not to spend too much time on devices when they are with their children. ___18___ Try to spare a few minutes – start with 15 minutes a day if it seems really hard-where your phone is truly out of sight, out of mind. It helps model good practices for your kids.
Parents are also advised to re-evaluate whether they need to be responsive to everything that comes through on their phones in real time. We live in a world where everything seems urgent but usually actually isn't. ___19___ It’s simply not possible.
___20___ It’s never too late to repair. Spend some extra time reading together or in a no-phone zone like the dinner table. By caring about your kid’s development and looking into tips like these, you are already doing a great job.
A. We don’t actually need our phones all the time.
B. It is an easy way to calm children down or occupy them.
C. Avoid checking your phone instead of hanging out with your friends.
D. And this may be a reason for the lower grammar skills and vocabulary.
E. Try not to put pressure on yourself to respond immediately to everything.
F. Another research also suggests younger children don’t learn well from screens.
G. But parents shouldn’t overstress if they or their child have spent much time on screens.

Fourteen years ago, I was invited to spend my summer holiday with a Swedish friend.
The long hours of daylight were spent eating home-baked waffles (华夫饼) with strawberry jam and swimming in the sea. 36 We had no schedule to keep, and work couldn’t have been further from our minds. It was about slowing down, enjoying the warmer weather and making the most of what nature had to offer, surrounded by family and friends.
As I settled into Swedish life, I realized that the calm approach wasn’t confined (局限) to the holidays. At a dinner party in Malm , my new friends introduced me to lagom. “You don’t have a translation for it in English”, they said proudly.” 37 But they clarified, “No, it’s sort of ‘just right’.”
Lagom, pronounced ‘lah-gom’ (‘la’ like ‘far’, ‘gom’ like ‘from’), is deeply rooted in the Swedish mindset. Often loosely translated as ‘not too much and not too little’, lagom is about finding a balance that works for you. Water can be lagom warm. You can work a lagom amount. Trousers can be a lagom fit. 38
In a world where we’re connected 24/7, it often feels like we have so much on our plates. 39 A life with less stress and more time for the things we love sounds like the perfect balance.
40 However, I hope the ideas in this book will help you think more consciously about introducing lagom in other ways, too; in a way that works for you. By making subtle changes to your everyday routine, you can find greater balance – and make time for the things that matter most in life.
I guessed it meant “perfect”.
Lagom is a type of art, not a lifestyle.
The days were carefree and uncomplicated.
It’s a word you can use in almost any context.
We couldn’t help but worry about upcoming tasks.
Wouldn’t it be wonderful if we could all slow down a little

【16题详解】 根据前文 “Parents who use screens more have children who use screens more. And those children have a lower talent in grammar and vocabulary. When screens are in use, either by a parent or a child, there is less talking, teaching and reading in house-holds.” D 选项 “And this may be a reason for the lower grammar skills and vocabulary.”(这可能是语法技能和词汇量较低的一个原因)能够很好地承接上文,说明这种交流等活动的减少是孩子能力低的原因,所以选 D。
【17题详解】根据后文 “For example, kids ages 24 to 30 months learn new verbs when they are taught through a live interaction or even video chat, but not by watching a video, according to a September 2023 study.” F 选项 “Another research also suggests younger children don’t learn well from screens.”(另一项研究也表明年幼的孩子不能很好地从屏幕上学习)符合语境,引出下文的例子来证明小孩子从屏幕学习效果不好,所以选 F。
【18题详解】根据前文 “The study suggests parents should try not to spend too much time on devices when they are with their children.” C 选项 “Avoid checking your phone instead of hanging out with your friends.”(避免查看手机而不是和你的孩子一起出去玩)进一步说明了父母应该怎么做,即不要看手机而要和孩子一起玩,与前文内容连贯,所以选 C。
【19题详解】根据前文 “Parents are also advised to re-evaluate whether they need to be responsive to everything that comes through on their phones in real time. We live in a world where everything seems urgent but usually actually isn't.” E 选项 “Try not to put pressure on yourself to respond immediately to everything.”(尽量不要给自己施加压力去立即回应所有事情)承接上文,说明不要有压力去立刻回应所有信息,所以选 E。

C 选项 “The days were carefree and uncomplicated.”(那些日子无忧无虑,简单纯粹)能够很好地总结这种度假生活状态,承上启下,所以选 C。
A 选项 “I guessed it meant ‘perfect’.”(我猜它的意思是 “完美”)符合语境,体现了作者对 “lagom” 含义的猜测,所以选 A。
D 选项 “It’s a word you can use in almost any context.”(这是一个你几乎可以在任何语境中使用的词)能够对前文进行总结,强调 “lagom” 这个词使用的广泛性,所以选 D。
F 选项 “Wouldn’t it be wonderful if we could all slow down a little ”(如果我们都能稍微慢下来,那不是很好吗?)
【20题详解】后文提到 “However, I hope the ideas in this book will help you think more consciously about introducing lagom in other ways, too”,表示希望书中的观点能帮助人们更有意识地以其他方式引入 “lagom”,说明前文应该是说人们已经在生活的很多方面运用到了 “lagom”,只是可能没有意识到,G 选项 “You are no doubt exercising lagom in many aspects of your life already.”(你无疑已经在生活的许多方面践行着 “lagom” 了)符合语境,与后文形成转折关系,先指出人们已经在做,然后再说希望能更有意识地去做,所以选 G。而 B 选项 “Lagom is a type of art, not a lifestyle.”
