Life is getting more expensive nowadays. To save money, some people are choosing not to buy new things, but to repair (修理) their old ones. By repairing broken things on their own, people can both feel good and help the environment. Thankfully, there are millions of videos on the Internet teaching people how to repair all kinds of things, making it much easier to learn how to repair things than it was in the past.
Still, it’s important to know the ______▲_______ when it comes to repairs. Some things, like broken chair legs, are very easy to repair. She wanted to do something to solve the problem and protect (保护) the planet as well. Postma opened the first Repair Cafe in Amsterdam in 2009. Why are many people afraid to fail Just because we forget that failure is part of our life.
Most parents try hard to prevent their children from knowing that they have failed. One way is to lower standards. When a girl makes a table, her mother would say “great”, though the table isn’t good at all. Another way is to blame (责备) others. If John fails science, his mother will say his teacher is unfair (不公平) or foolish.
There is a problem with the two ways. It makes a child unprepared for life in the real world. Young children need to learn that no one can be best at everything, no one can win all the time.
Failure hurts both children and their parents. But it can be really good to your life when you learn from it. You must learn to ask “Why did I fail ” Don’t blame anyone else. Ask yourself what you did wrong and how you can do better. If someone else can help, don’t be shy to ask them.
43.According to the passage, when students fail, their parents often________.
A.blame them and their teachers B.encourage them to stand up again
