Every day, we hear about people who are trying to lose weight. There are so many different diets to choose from, but which one is best What should we eat, and what shouldn’t we eat The answer is simple: we need to eat a healthy diet.
So what is a healthy diet It’s not complicated (复杂). We just need to eat the right amount (量) of food from each of the five main food groups.
The first group is fruit and vegetables. We need to eat at least five portions (份) of these every day. That might sound like a lot, but it’s not really-a glass of orange juice, a banana and two vegetables with dinner means you’ve had your five portions.
Next, we need to eat some starchy (富含淀粉的) foods, like bread, rice or potatoes (about six portions a day). These foods give us energy.
We also need to eat some protein (蛋白质), like meat, fish, eggs or beans. We should have about two portions a day.
Then there’s milk and dairy products (乳制品). We need about three portions of these every day.
Finally, we need to eat only a small amount of foods that contain sugar and fat.
Some people think that a healthy diet is a boring diet. This isn’t true! You can still eat your favourite foods, but you need to eat them in moderation. For example, if you love chocolate, you don’t have to stop eating it completely. Just eat it once in a while, and make sure you don’t eat too much.
It’s important to remember that a healthy diet is not the same as a diet where you eat less food. In fact, eating very little food is not good for you. It’s much better to eat a variety of different foods, and to eat regular (有规律的) meals. If you do this, you’ll feel full and satisfied, and you won’t be tempted (诱惑) to snack on unhealthy foods.
So next time you’re thinking about going on a diet, stop and think. Do you really need to lose weight Or would it be better to just eat a healthy diet

At first sight, it seems to be Dutch painter Johannes Vermeer’s famous work Girl With a Pearl Earring. But look more closely and you may find something different about it. Wearing two shining earrings, there’s a little inhuman (异常的) shade of red on the girl’s face.
Look strange It’s actually an image made by German designer Julian van Dieken using artificial intelligence (AI). Chosen from 3,482 images created based on the Vermeer masterpiece, the AI-generated (生成) work was shown at the Mauritshuis Museum in the Netherlands.
“One of the most famous paintings in history is being replaced by one of my AI images,” van Dieken wrote on Instagram. He said that the experience was “crazy” and “unreal”.
However, the AI image caused wide discussion. Though Mauritshuis press officer Boris de Munnick said that “it’s a nice picture and it’s a creative way of making it”, many people questioned whether it could be called art and be shown in the museum, reported AFP.
Dutch artist Iris Compiet described the image on display as “almost Frankenstein-ish”, AFP noted. She added that “it’s an insult to the works of Vermeer and also to any working ing from a museum, it’s a real slap (掌掴) in the face.”
In fact, this is not the first time people have discussed AI’s role in creativity. But the technology has now become widely used in daily life and the practice of using AI image generators to make art has become more common.
As Taylor Michael explained, one common concern is whether AI-generated works break copyright laws (版权法). “Some artists have heavily criticized AI tools for using potentially (潜在地) copyrighted works to create datasets, without artists’ agreement,” she wrote.
Meanwhile, the increase of such AI works in the market is believed by many to weaken the enthusiasm (热情) of artists who have spent years building up their creative skills, AFP noted.
30.What do we know about the image made by Julian van Dieken
A.It is a perfect copy of Vermeer’s famous work.
B.It was made by combining 3,482 images together.
C.It’s the first AI work on display in a museum.
D.It has received different reviews from audiences.
31.What does the underlined word “insult” most probably mean
A.protection B.disrespect
C.celebration D.improvement
32.According to the passage, what can be the influence brought by the development of AI-created works
A.It can make traditional art forms less attractive.
B.It can increase the value of traditional artworks.
C.It can discourage artists who put in real effort.
D.It can help artists to develop their creativity.
33.What does the article mainly talk about
A.The different opinions about AI artworks.
B.The potential problems with AI artworks.
C.The future of AI works on the art market.
D.The effects of AI works on the art market.
【答案】30.D 31.B 32.C 33.A
【导语】本文主要讨论了人工智能(AI)在艺术创作中的应用及其引发的广泛讨论。

31.词句猜测题。根据“it’s an insult to the works of Vermeer and also to any working ing from a museum, it’s a real slap (掌掴) in the face.”可知荷兰艺术家Iris Compiet认为这幅AI生成的作品是对Vermeer作品的“侮辱”,并且对任何艺术家来说都是一种“掌掴”。因此,“insult”在这里表示“不尊重”或“侮辱”。故选B。

A Rubbish Collector’s Work Is Never Done
Brian Kane was a rubbish collector in Denver, Colorado. Eight hours a day, five days a week, fifty weeks a year, he rode on the back of a garbage truck. At each stop, he would run to the back of buildings, then pull heavy rubbish cans to the truck. Brian never complained.
Brian saw these hardships as opportunities to become strong and fit. His job was a training ground for his lifelong-dream: to climb Mount Qomolangma. On his thirtieth birthday, Brian took a leave from his job and flew to Nepal to begin the long, difficult journey up Mount Qomolangma.
Brian first climbed to a base camp. He planned to bring three oxygen containers (氧气罐) with him to the top. At 29,028 feet, it would be hard to survive without extra oxygen. Over the next two months, Brian climbed to 26,000 feet, to Camp Four-the last place to rest below the top of the mountain. But when Brian saw this camp, he fell to his knees. “Rubbish!” he cried. Nearly a thousand empty oxygen containers littered the camp area. Humans had turned this beautiful, far-away place into a big rubbish pile (堆). Brian was very sad. But with a strong determination he continued to follow his dream. Two days later he stood proudly on the top of Mount Qomolangma. He had reached the “roof of the world!”
Two days after this great achievement, Brian put a dozen empty oxygen containers in his pack and walked down the mountain. He smiled to himself as he realized that the work of a rubbish collector is great and never done.

【答案】例文
I’m Li Hua. I’d like to share my story with you.
Last term, I had a big problem with my studies. I was falling behind in math. I was so worried that I even started to avoid math classes. The main reason was that I didn’t understand the complex formulas and always made mistakes in problem-solving.
To solve this problem, I first had a heart-to-heart communication with my math teacher. I told her about my confusion and fear. She gave me some practical advice, suggesting that I start from the basic knowledge and do more targeted exercises. Then, I made a study plan. I allocated extra time every day to review math concepts and do exercises. Also, I joined a study group. We discussed difficult problems together and helped each other.
Thanks to these efforts, I gradually caught up. I worked out many difficult problems that I couldn’t solve before. From this experience, I’ve learned that when facing problems, we should not be afraid or run away. Instead, we should communicate actively, seek advice, and take practical actions. Only in this way can we overcome difficulties and grow.
