For some reason, Chinese people seem to be very surprised when I tell them I like spicy food. It seems that no one here expects foreigners to be able to eat spicy food, let alone (更别提) enjoy it. But in fact, we have a long tradition of eating spicy food in the US.
I guess I could start with Tex-Mex food. Tex-Mex brings food with both Mexican and American styles. It is especially popular in Texas and other southwestern US states. It uses a lot of cheese, Texas-style chili con came (a stew of meat, beans and hot peppers) and flour tortillas (玉米薄饼). Tex-Mex can be quite spicy.
Also, the US is home to many “chiliheads”, or people who are known for their love of hot chili peppers (辣椒). Chiliheads like to collect and eat extremely spicy peppers. The hottest chili pepper in the world is the Carolina Reaper. It is grown in the US state of South Carolina.
But when you start to eat it, spicy food in the US feels different from that of China. Spicy dishes in the US have what we call a “slow burn”—they don’t sting (刺痛) your mouth right away, but slowly become hotter as you eat more.
On the other hand, spicy Chinese food like Sichuan hotpot can be very spicy as soon as you start to eat it. Foods like huajiao can cause a numbing (麻木的) feeling in the mouth. It’s very special.
47.What do we know about Tex-Mex food
A.It is real Mexican food. B.It is popular in South America.
C.It has a lot of cheese and is quite spicy. D.It is a mix of Mexican and Canadian food.
48.What does the underlined word “chiliheads” refer to
A.People who like spicy food. B.People who live in the US.
C.People who grow Carolina Reaper. D.The South Carolina farmers.
49.According to the writer, spicy food in the US may ________.
A.sting your mouth right away B.cause a numbing feeling
C.become hotter as you eat more D.make your lips hurt
50.What can we learn from the passage
A.Most people in America love spicy food. B.The US and China’s spicy foods are similar.
C.The writer is from America. D.Huajiao is an extremely spicy food.
51.What is the best title for the passage
A.The love for spicy food from Chinese B.World’s famous spicy food
C.Spicy food brings different feelings D.Spice is nice for people in the US

On the earth, we see that the moon looks like a cake. There is no air in the moon. So on the other side it is very cold. People can jump higher on the moon than on the earth and walk more easily there. The moon is our neighbor. It goes around the earth all the time. 【原文】
How to have a good nap You must remember the following: Make it quick, plan it early, and get comfortable. Here are ways.
Daily naps work for some people, but if you feel like you need to nap every day just to feel comfortable, it shows that you’re not sleeping enough at night. Naps shouldn’t give help to sleepless nights.
The best time to nap is between 20 and 30 minutes. If your nap takes a longer time, it can stop you from sleeping at night, and will make you feel more tired when you wake up. A shorter nap keeps you in lighter sleep, but it is enough to help you feel comfortable when you wake up.
You might end up doing most of your napping on the sofa or at your desk, but napping in bed is better. You can always see some people just sleeping in a chair, but they’ll take the best nap if they’re in bed, because their body feels the most comfortable sleeping there.
Getting into sleep will be easier if you’re in a quiet, dark, cool, comfortable room.

How to care for our parents
As we all know, our parents love us more than anyone else in the world. They try to offer the best life and education to us, so they have too much pressure.
As their children, learning to care for our parents is what we should do. Firstly, we can do sports with them to help them keep healthy and do housework as much as possible at home. Secondly, we should tell them to eat healthy food and not to stay up late so that they can get enough sleep. Last but not least, we should share our school life with them and get closer to them.
