As a new school term begins, a family from Michigan, USA shares an experience that changed their lives forever in public.
Nearly 30 years ago, 6-year-old Elisha was just getting off the school bus. There was a big smile on the little girl’s face, but the next moment it was gone.

But later, because of the Kitchens efforts (努力), a new law about school bus safety was passed — A driver must stop at least 20 feet away from school buses when their red lights are flashing, or he will get fined.
Even about 30 years later, Elisha still remembers the accident. “Every time I see a bus, I can’t stop thinking of the accident. I just don’t want what happened to me to happen to kids again,” she said.

例文
A report about a fire
There was a fire at Mr Li’s home at three o’clock yesterday afternoon. When the house caught fire, his father was alone at home, and he was watching TV in the living room. He was very frightened and he called 119. Finally the firemen helped him out. His right arm was hurt.
Fire is very dangerous. We should be careful with it. When our building is on fire, try to get out as soon as possible. We should use a wet towel to cover our mouth and nose and stay low to the ground to protect ourselves from thick smoke.
