教学目标:
1.语言知识目标:
①能够听说的单词：horse , strong , cute ,aren't
②能够听说的语句：Are they ……?
Yes, they are./ No they aren't.
They are litter and cute.
2.语言能力目标:
① 用形容词描述动物的特征。
② 能借助图片、文字听懂、读懂和朗读课文。
③ 句型一般疑问句Are they…?的肯定及否定回答。
学习策略目标：
① 能正确使用所学句型和单词，正确对动物特征进行描述。
② 增加已学知识的复现率，培养学生对重点词汇和句子的认读能力。
③ 通过以旧知识带动新知识的学习，培养学生运用所学语言的能力。

① 通过多种形式的活动激发学生的学习兴趣。
② 教育学生要爱护小动物，保护大自然。
文化意识目标：
教育学生，人类和动物是朋友，要爱护小动物，保护大自然。
教学重难点：

教学准备：
word cards, radio, pictures, PPT
教学过程:
Step 1 warming-up
Sing the song :Old MacDonald .
Review the animals we learn before by chanting .
Ask some Ss to act the animals and others guess.
Step 2 Presentation and practice
1.展示动物的一小部分图片然后问学生Are they …?
At first Ss can just answer Yes or No, then they will try to answer completely, Yes they are. /No, they aren't.
展示一组图片姚明跟潘长江站一起，一个tall 一个short.结合其它动物复习之前学过的有关描述动物的形容词。
大是big 小是small,高是tall, 矮是Short, 长是long,短是short.
结合动物和这些形容词操练。
Are they big? Yes they are. /No, they aren't.
3课文教学：
Observe the page 35 activity one, what animals can you see. Monkey, bear , bird.
What are doing ? They are having a competition.
Who win? Bear .
Why? Because it is very strong.
举起自己的双臂，一起读Strong.
listen to the radio and read after it.
Observe the pictures of activity 2. Lingling and Amy is visiting a zoo.What animals are there? They are horses.The horses on the left are baby horses. The horses on the right are their mothers.
Brainstorm, what adj can you use to describe the horses.
Listen to the radio and circle out what adj is used to describe the horses.
Emphasis the word cute. 比一个可爱的动作。
Listen again and read after it.
Work in pairs and do a role play.
Step 3 Consolidation and extension
Finish activity 3 .First look at the pictures and answer what are they, and use an adj to describe them.Then, listen and tick.
Play a guessing game. Every one write down a kind of animal he like best and don't show it to your partner.And try to guess what animal does your partner like best by using Are they…?
Step4 Homework
1.Listen to the text in page 35 and read after it.
2.Draw one of your favorite animals and write it's name and use two or more adj to describe it with your partner.
