Past Progressive Tense
过去进行时结构：

主语+was/were+V.ing.
Change the verbs to V.ing forms
Sb.+was/were+V.ing
一般情况：
V+ing
以不发音的字母e结尾：e+ing
以重读闭音节结尾，末尾只有一个辅音字母：双写辅音字母+ing
以ie结尾：
变ie为y+ing

when + sb. +Ved(动词过去式)
When+Sb. was/were +V.ing
Find the differences(找出区别)
While sb. was/ were +V.ing.
while后连接延续性动词（可以持续一段时间的动作或状态）
When sb. +V.ed/when+sb. was /were V.ing
when既可连接延续性动词也可连接非延续性动词（表示瞬间完成的动作，无法持续）
When do we use "when" and when do we use "while"
Alice was reading a book while they were sweeping the floor.
Bob was doing his homework while Linda was listening to the music.
当主句和从句的动作同时发生, 且都是进行时态时，只能用while !!!
记住口诀：
when后可长亦可短
（when+延续性动词/非延续性动词）
while后面只可长
（while只能+延续性动词）
若是两边都为长
中间while来帮忙
（若两边都是进行时，只能用while）
