模块内容分析:本模块选择“过去生活”作为话题不仅仅是因为学生对此感兴趣,更重要的是借此话题向学生介绍不同国家同龄人的童年生活,从而帮助学生开阔视野,了解不同国家的文化、教育以及生活等。童年生活充满了美好回忆,谈论小时候及小学的事情是学生之间经常交流的话题,也是他们非常感兴趣的话题。本模块在“过去生活”这一话题下,通过三个单元中的主要语言输入材料——对话、课文、世界各地等——呈现了中外学生对自己小学、童年的回忆,描述了家乡,并介绍了南非著名政治家曼德拉。
本模块的语法重点是学习含有动词be(was/were)的一般过去时。这是学生在初中学段第一次接触英语中的过去时态,在教学中,教师应将重点放在培养学生对英语的语言认识上,让学生意识到英语在动词时态上与汉语之间存在很大不同,为学生掌握好英语的过去时打下良好的基础。
单元内容分析:第二单元的课文以贝蒂的口吻讲述了她在美国的家乡昆西小镇的生活。这篇课文包含了地理、历史、社会和家庭环境等方面的内容, 不过总体而言是关于贝蒂生活的描述,正如课文标题所言的My life in Quincy。这篇文章和托尼那篇关于他的家长剑桥的文章有很大的不同,那篇文章介绍的主要是地理特征,二这篇文章介绍的则主要是个人生活,采取了从社会、家庭、朋友的校对来对贝蒂在昆西的生活进行描述:第一、二段描述了昆西的社会生活,镇上有电影院、商店等,还出过两位总统;第三、四段描述了贝蒂的家庭生活,我们可以读到贝蒂的家是什么样子,甚至能了解她房间的装饰;最后一段描述了贝蒂与朋友的交往,文章最后说道贝蒂期盼着回到昆西,不过吸引她回去的不是昆西的社会生活环境,也不是她家的老房子,而是她的朋友。
