For many, travel isn't just about the destination—it's about making the most of the journey.
However, for a lot of people, the journey is often ruined by an uncomfortable experience often accompanied by vomiting, known as motion sickness. If you've ever felt the unwelcome urge to vomit while reading or using your device in a moving vehicle, you're not alone.Recognizing this common issue,Apple has stepped up to offer a revolutionary solution:the Vehicle Motion Cues feature for iPhones and iPads.
Motion sickness occurs when there is a disconnection between what your eyes see and what your body feels. When you're in a moving vehicle, your body senses motion through its vestibular system (the inner ear),but if your eyes are focused on a still screen that doesn't reflect this movement, the brain receives mixed signals. This sensory conflict can lead to dizziness, nausea, and overall discomfort symptoms all too familiar to motion sickness sufferers.
Apple's new Vehicle Motion Cues feature is designed to bridge this gap and bring relief to those likely to experience motion sickness. This revolutionary feature works by displaying animated dots, around the edges of your screen, which move at the same time and speed as the motion of your vehicle. These moving cues help keep the motion your body feels in line with what your eyes see, effectively reducing the sensory mismatch that causes motion sickness.
The magic lies in the simplicity and effectiveness. The animated dots move in consistency with the vehicle's motion, providing a visual representation of the movement your body is experiencing.By matching the visual input with the physical sensations of motion, your brain is less likely to experience the confusion that leads to sickness.
Early reports and user feedback indicate that Vehicle Motion Cues is receiving high praise for its effectiveness. So next time you embark on a journey, whether short or long, remember that Apple's got your back—or rather, your brain—helping you make the most of every mile with ease and comfort.

For many people, the cruelest part of daily life is the transition between wakefulness and sleep.
When you should be sleeping, you want to be awake;when you should be awake, you want to stay asleep. It is easy to regard sleep as a torment:hard to attain and then hard to give up,day after day.
It is no major revelation to most people that enough sleep improves well-being.One recent study of more than 30,000 UK residents found that people who increased their quantity of sleep over a four-year period got about the same happiness benefits as they would have from eight weeks of treatment,or from winning up to $280,000 in a lottery.Well-rested people are more social and have more positive emotional experiences with co-workers and romantic partners.Sleep loss, however, lowers happiness by degrading emotional-memory recall and encouraging a negative mindset, which results in depressive working atmosphere and poor interpersonal relationship.
If all of this seems obvious, why don't we sleep more Physical conditions, poor sleep habits, work, stress, and young kids are all common barriers to proper sleep. However, another barrier comes purely from within, when we simply put off going to bed because we are doing other things that seem more important at night, but we regret when it's time to get up.It is what scholars call "bedtime procrastination(拖延)" .Bedtime procrastination seems illogical, but the explanation is fairly straightforward. It happens when a person bears some deep resistance to being "told"what to do, especially in an area as personal and fundamental as when to go to bed.It is likely because she hates being told what to do in other parts of her life, and she fights back by fully using her own authority and staying up.
25.What does the underlined word "torment"in paragraph 1 mean
A.Enjoyment. B.Suffering C.Entertainment. D.Exercise.
26.How is the second paragraph developed
A.By using quotes. B.By giving a definition.
C.By making a comparison. D.By providing explanations.
27.What may cause bedtime procrastination
A.A crying baby. B.Pressure from work.
C.Drinking too much coffee. D.Unwillingness to follow routines.
28.Which column of a news website may the text be taken from
A.Health. B.Education. C Technology D.Economy.

We used to write with a pen.Now we generally write on a computer with the help of keyboard. In this digital age, artificial intelligence has become a new type of“pen”which we use to analyze, write and present everything from an article,a thesis,a research paper to company report, and things alike.
Since writing is an essential part of academic life, and since students struggle to produce quality papers,AI powered writing is gaining popularity on campuses.AI is so powerful that it can help with idea development, research design, content development, literature review, data management,as well as help with editing and reviewing of books.AI-powered writing can improve the grammar, structure, and help with citations and consistency to disciplinary standards. Therefore,AI tools can help students teachers and researchers to overcome the challenges of academic writing, boost research productivity and improve efficiency.
However,AI may seem human, but it is not.It may appear accurate, yet it isn't.It may look intelligent, yet it is not.It may also seem to understand, but it can't.An analysis done with the help of AI tools with seemingly high efficiency can be neither valid(有效的)nor reliable.Although AI can help write a seemingly nicely structured, grammatically correct and even precisely referenced paper, its research results can't be accepted as authentic(真实的),because they cannot fully meet the real purpose of research or education as a whole.
That is why many universities have been keeping students from using AI tools for academic writing, and have conducted rules limiting,if not altogether banning the use of Generative AI in academic writing.According to a survey of the world's 100 top universities by Scriber on their attitude to AI writing tools,18 percent have banned the use of ChatGPT,although individual instructors could allow its use,27 percent have no clear guidance or policy, and 51 percent have left the decision on individual instructors.Only 4 percent of the universities allow the use of AI(with citation)unless instructors forbid it.
29.What is paragraph 2 of the text mainly about
A.The importance of academic writing.
B.The potential users of AI-powered writing
C.The challenges faced by researchers and scholars
D.The popularity of AI-powered writing on campuses.
30.What may be the author's attitude towards a research report written by AI A.Negative. B.Indifferent. C.Positive. D.Unclear
31.Who have the right to decide the use of AI in academic writing in most universities
A.Fund sponsors. B.Would-be graduates.
C.Individual instructors. D.Producers of AI tools.
32.Which idiom can best describe AI-powered writing
A.A wet blanket B.A double-edged sword.
C.A pie in the sky. D.A big fish in a small pond

After flying all night,I was tired as I arrived in Denver to hold an event on positive thinking.AsI entered the lecture hall,Dr.Fred Vogt asked me,"Do you know about the Make-A-Wish Foundation " “Yes,"I replied."Well,a 17-year-old girl Amy Graham has been diagnosed as having terminal(晚期 的)cancer.Doctors gave her three days. Her dying wish was to attend your lecture."
I was shocked.I felt a combination of awe and doubt.I couldn't believe it.1 thought kids who were dying would want to go see Disneyland,or suchlike. Why would a kid with only a few days to live want to spend their final days listening to a motivational speaker Suddenly my thoughts were interrupted..
"Here's Amy."Before me stood a girl wearing a bright red hat to cover her head, which was bald from all of the treatments. Her weak body was a bit bent. She said,"My two goals were to graduate from high school and to attend your lecture. My doctors didn't believe I could do either and they didn't think I'd have enough energy.I have to rely on my parents now."
Tears welled in my eyes;I was choked up.My mind was being shaken.I cleared my throat and smiled,"Thanks for wanting to come."We hugged, wiped our eyes and separated.
That Sunday afternoon I held the workshop that Amy and her parents attended. The audience was packed to overflowing with over a thousand attendees eager to learn, grow and become more fully human.I humbly asked the audience if they wanted to learn a healing process that might serve them for life. From the stage it appeared that everyone's hand was raised high in the air.I taught the audience how to vigorously(用力地)rub their hands together, separate them by two inches and feel the healing energy. Then I paired them off with a partner to feel the healing energy from themselves to another, explaining that everyone had healing potential to support others.

Possible version:
A Step Out of My Comfort Zone
I'm honored to give a speech on“A step out of my comfort zone".We have all experienced challenges in life, and for me,public speaking was definitely cne of them.In my second year of high school,I decided to confront this fear by participating in a speech contest.
Self-doubt was overwhelming at first. But after countless hours of practice,a miracle occurred. On stage, despite my nervousness,I quickly found my rhythm. As I spoke, words flowed smoothiy, and the moment I finished with confidence, the audience erupted into cheers.
My dear friends, real growih comes from pushing our limits.Only by stepping cut of our comfort zones can we unlock our potential and become the best version of ourselves!
八、读后续写
Possible version:
At that point an idea struck me.I said to the audience,"This morning I was introduced to Amy Graham,a 17-year-old.I want to bring her up here and let you all send healing life energy toward her.” Supported by her father,Amy stepped onto the stage, looking frail from an absclute lack of exercise. She talked about what she was suffering from and her final wish to be at this workshop.Touched by her story, the audience spontaneously warmed up their hands and engaged in the simple exercise, after which they gave her a tearful standing ovation.
With a round of applause,Amys dad led her off the stage. At that moment, the workshop became more than just a lecture on positive thinking—it showed the power of hope and the resilience of the human spirit. After the workshop concluded, attendees lingered, sharing stories and exchanging contact information. Many approached Amy and her parents, offering words of encouragement. It was clear that something extraordinary had taken place-a blend of hope, belief, and the courage to confront adversity with optimism. Before leaving,Amy thanked me for the unexpected invitation, which was a real bonus for her and gave her the healing power beyond physical remedies.

Have you ever had a moment where you felt like everything was going wrong, only to realize later that it was exectly what you needed My parents always encouraged me to pursue something "practical",and engineering seemed like the right choice.(18)My parents were excited that their son was going to be an engineer...untilI wasn't.(19)No matter how hard I tried,my grades kept falling. One day,in my second year at university, after another terribie exam,(18)I wandered into a small gallery across from the library.I sat down, looked up,and saw my future. For the first time,I felt moved by pictures. The light was recorded by a camera, printed, and hung on a wall. How could something so simple be so powerful That afternoon,I lost myself in the images but somehow found my future path.It hit me.I could see myself as a photographer.I wanted to move people and make them feel something about being alive, not by making machines, but by art.I would build with light And now,all of you,and my once disappointed but now proud parents, are here to see my first
exhibition,Building with Lighat.(19)(20)I hope that in these pictures, you will find something
meaningful about yourself. (20)Thank you.
