本模块以“人口”为话题，内容与我们的生活息息相关，在平日生活中多有体现。通过本单元的学习，学生能够掌握冠词的用法以及英文大数字的读法，并了解世界人口现状，了解人口过多、噪音、污染等问题以及由此产生的后果，从而了解世界人口现状、保护环境的意识。对冠词系统的总结其用法，通过本单元的学习，可系统的掌握其用法，学会大数字的正确读法。

学情分析
本模块的话题学生很熟悉，很容易展开讨论。教学要侧重于冠词用法和数字的表达。学生对十、百、千这些小数字已经很熟悉了，但对千以上的大额数字，还接触很少，本模块学习正好扫除他们在这方面的困惑。本模块继续通过听说读写全方位的练习，训练学生的综合语言能力，提升学生英语水平。
