Embracing the Inevitability of Death
Death is a natural part of life, and I've come to find comfort in this inevitability. It's not a topic to fear or avoid; rather, it's a reality we all must face. Recently, the news of renowned Taiwanese writer Qiong Yao's suicide at 86 served as a poignant(令人沉痛的) reminder of this truth.
Qiong Yao, known for her romantic novels that captivated generations, chose to end her life peacefully at home. Her decision, as expressed in her farewell letter, reflected a deep understanding and acceptance of death. She didn't want to wither away slowly; she wanted to have control over her final moments.
This comfort with death brings a sense of peace, allowing us to live fully in the present. When we embrace this inevitability, we cherish every moment with loved ones, recognizing the finite nature of life. Qiong Yao's passing serves as an example, reminding us to appreciate the beauty of life and find solace(找到慰籍 solace/ s l s/ n. 慰籍) in knowing it's a journey we all share.
By understanding that death is a part of the cycle, we can face it with dignity and grace, just as Qiong Yao did.
