A. 快速定位。考查细节题,通过表格中的关键词快速定位答案出处,并通过原文和表格的对比,勾划出不同之处或表格所缺之处;
当表格在左侧的论点型的地方设空时,常用的概括词有:原因(reason/cause)、方法(way/means)、优缺点(advantage/disadvantage)、观点(opinion/view)、建议(advice/suggestion/tip)、目的(aim/purpose)、问题(problem)、影响(effect/influence)、结果(result)、背景信息(background information)等。

I remember the first time I suggested screen-free days in our school to some of our student leaders. Jokingly, I said to the group, “What do you think if we go a week without using our laptop s or smartphones ”
They laughed, and one of them said, “No way, Mr. White. They would be too much.” I could feel their worry, and told them that I was only thinking about single screen-free days. Even that idea left them feeling upset.
According to a survey we did, most students in our school spend about six hours a day on screens. Many of my students start their day by checking their smartphones. I often see them looking at their phones when getting off the bus or at parents’ drop-off, they can’t use their own “screens” at school. They usually work on computers at school for at least two hours during the day.
It’s clear that our students spend a lot of time on screens. We do see the benefits of technology. However, we teachers also want to make sure that students have balanced learning and social experiences away from their screens. That’s why we have come up with the idea of screen-free days.
During the course of the year, we have built in several screen-free days that require us to make different plans for our students about how they will communicate with one another and the world around them without “screens”. For some teachers, this means bringing back a valuable lesson plan that has been put off for some time because it is “out of date”. Others have designed something completely new.
Fun activities, for example, card games and room escape (密室逃脱) games, are organized at school. In these activities, students socialize without smartphones and have face-to-face communication without checking on “likes” they’ve got online. These fun activities also make it possible for the whole grade to enjoy the company of their friends with no smartphones.
After our first screen-free day, students mentioned that they were surprised they enjoyed it. Finding ways to help our students connect with one another is important.
While technology is already part of our world, it shouldn’t play such an important role in a learner’s life.

As a country strong in math, China has many folk games filled with math wisdom. You may have played many of them before. Let’s take a look at two of them.
Luban Lock Luban Lock was first created by Chinese carpenter Lu Ban about 2,000 years ago. It is said that Lu used six wooden pieces to make a toy that looks like a lock for his son. The lock has a lot to do with solid geometry It’s hard to separate the six pieces. However, it is usually easier to unlock a Luban Lock than to put it back together. Now, there are Luban Locks made up of nine or more pieces.
Huarong Pass Huarong Pass is a traditional Chinese block-moving puzzle. Every block is named after a character in the book Romance of the Three Kingdoms, like Cao Cao, Zhang Fei and Zhao Yun. To succeed in the game, players have to move the blocks to get “Cao Cao” out. This is a test of one’s math knowledge, for example, of geometric area According to the Chinese Puzzle website, it takes at least 81 steps to set “Cao Cao” free.

January 20, 2025, a Chinese tech company named DeepSeek made a new AI called DeepSeek-R1. This smart program can work out math problems, write code, and answer questions like top models such as Open AI’s GPT 4.0, but it costs much less to build. The team spent only $5.58 million (1/70 of Open AI’s cost) and used 2,048 computer chips for two months. This shows that good ideas can beat big money.
DeepSeek-R1 learns by trying many times and getting better, like how students practice maths. Other AIs need lots of prepared examples, but R1 improves by itself. For example, in a global math test, it got 79.8% right, slightly higher than Open AI’s model. A simple version of R1 can even run on low-cost computers, helping schools and small companies.
DeepSeek-R1 is free to use and change. On its first day online, more than 19, 000 programmers worldwide started projects to study it. A German scientist said experiments with R1 cost $10 instead of $300 with other AIs. Even Meta (a famous U.S. tech company) top scientist said, “This kind of free AI could change the world.”
U.S. tech companies are worried. Meta plans to spend $65 billion more on AI research. Experts say China is catching up fast. A report in Nature magazine called R1 a “big step forward”, proving that smart ideas beat expensive tools.
As a DeepSeek engineer said, “We want AI to be a friend, not something only rich people can use. With R1, China shows the world that great things come from new ideas and hard work, not just money.”
Chinese AI Model DeepSeek-R1 21 the World
22 January 20, 2025, a Chinese tech company named DeepSeek made a new AI called DeepSeek-R1. On its first day online, 23 19,000 programmers worldwide started projects to study it.

Ludwig van Beethoven was one of the greatest composers of all time. He was born in 1770 in Bonn, Germany. When he was 4 years old, his father started teaching him to play the piano. Later, Beethoven took lessons from other teachers. He also learned to play the violin and the organ (管风琴) when he was very young. In 1787, when Beethoven was 17, he visited Vienna, Austria. There, he played for a famous musician named Mozart. Beethoven moved to Vienna in 1792 to study with another famous musician, Haydn. Beethoven lived in Vienna the rest of his life.
Beethoven played music that other people had written. But he also liked to improvise Beethoven would ask someone to play a few notes on a piano. Then he’d sit down and play those same few notes and add more. Soon, he would create a whole new tune.
As a composer, Beethoven was a great talent. He liked to write, or compose, his own music. He heard music in his head. Then he wrote the songs down on paper. While writing, Beethoven played his songs on the piano to hear how they sounded. He would rewrite his music over and over. Finally, he would be pleased with his new music.
Around 1798, Beethoven started going deaf. At first, he had trouble hearing people talk. Later, he couldn’t hear his own music. By 1820, Beethoven was totally deaf. Though he couldn’t hear, Beethoven kept playing music. He even kept composing! When Beethoven composed, he “heard” the tunes in his mind. Then he wrote them down. How did Beethoven hear music in his head Softly sing aloud a song you know well, like Mary Had a Little Lamb. As you sing, you can hear the song with your ears. Now silently sing the same song to yourself in your mind. Can you hear how it sounds inside your head
Beethoven composed his most famous pieces of music after he was deaf. These pieces include Moonlight Sonata and his Symphony (《交响乐》) No.5 and Symphony No.9. His works connected the classical age of Western music to the later romantic age.

How is your memory If we can’t remember how to do something, we can’t survive. If you think about it, there is so much we have to remember — from where we left our car keys to how we walk. Maybe it’s not surprising that sometimes we forget things.
Scientists believe there are two levels of memory. One is short-term memory, which stays in your brain for only 15-30 seconds, for example, when you hear a song but can’t remember the words afterwards. The other level is long-term memory, which can be stored for days, months or even years.
There are many uses for memory. Motor-skill memory helps you remember how to ride a bike or other activities, which can be strong can be short or long term. Emotional memory makes you think of how you felt about something and can be strong and powerful. They are long term.
Memories can tell you the story of yourself. Information, such as which school you go to and who your friends are, is stored inside your brain, ready for when you need it. It’s much easier to remember all those facts, or formulas or whatever it is you’re learning if you have a good memory. Memories can also help you manage feelings. Heidi, 12, told The Week Junior, “If I miss seeing my granny and grandad, I remember staying with them in Devon. It makes me feel happy.”
Our memory is amazing, but why do we still forget things It’s possible we don’t always store information in our memory effectively. When we do store information, we often make connections with other things, which helps us recall it later. If you don’t have these connections, then it can be easier to forget. It is also possible that memories decay over time. As they have not been revisited, their biological “trace” becomes weak.
However, forgetting is not always a bad thing! It would waste cognitive resources if we remembered every detail of the world around us. That’s something worth remembering!
Introduction 61 things is an important function of our brain and it’s no surprise that sometimes we are forgetful.

Spring is the season to harvest West Lake Longjing tea, which is now picked by not only human workers but also “metal workers”—tea-picking robots!
At the end of March, Hangzhou welcomed its best period of large-scale (大规模) harvesting of West Lake Longjing tea. In one tea garden, a smart tea-picking robot invented by Zhejiang Sci-tech University first appeared in public after five years of research and development.
With a pull and a suck (吸), the robotic arm separates the leaves from the trees and then puts them into a storage box quickly. “The robot learned its skills through a specially designed model that offers it a large amount of information of tea leaves,” said Chen Jianneng, one of the researchers. This allows the robot to recognize tea leaves by itself with a success rate (成功率) of over 90 percent, Chen added.
Yet, the robot’s picking system needs improving before it can be more widely used. According to Professor Wu Chuanyu, leader of the research team, the robot can only take on the work of 1.5 workers at present. It will need to do the work of 5 workers if it is used for a large-scale harvesting. In addition, the robot can now only be used on flat ground, not on rough (崎岖不平的) surfaces such as mountains. It may take five more years to realize these goals, Wu told China News.
Tea planting and processing are also changed to become “smarter”. For example, there are special lamps that can attract pests (害虫) but will not hurt other “friendly” insects. This machine works for 24 hours, using color board and lights to draw pests in day and night and then kill them with an electric grid (电网).
In terms of tea roasting (炒制), although machine-roasted tea is used widely, many tea lovers argue that this method will make the tea not have the same taste with the tea made by hand-roasting. Researchers at Zhejiang University are trying to find out the tiny differences between the two methods to improve machine performance. They’re researching AI technologies to help them gain necessary information and make adjustments (调整) to roasting methods and temperatures in time.

A. 快速定位。考查细节题,通过表格中的关键词快速定位答案出处,并通过原文和表格的对比,勾划出不同之处或表格所缺之处;

Screen-Free Days
The 1 of having Screen-free Days ●To achieve the balance between learning and social experiences ●To 2 students' time spent on laptops or smartphones.
The 3 of the activity In the beginning ●Student leaders 4 the idea that if they could go a week without screens ●They felt upset even though they were told I just 5 the idea.
During that activity ● A valuable lesson plan will be 6 back. ●Fun activities make students 7 to enjoy face-to-face communication
After that activity Surprisingly, they found the 8 between students was of great importance.
9 Although technology is important, there is no need to 10 a learner’s life

Organic (有机的) gardeners use natural ways to keep their gardens healthy. Follow these steps to make your own organic garden.
Getting ready for Your Garden
First, mark out how large your garden will be with ropes or stones. Don’t make it too big. Next, dig up the soil. Take out large stones and weeds. Keep an eye out for earthworms. They dig tunnels in the soil, which allow air and water to reach a plant’s roots. Finally, mix in some compost You can make your own compost by using leaves, grass and vegetables which are of no use.
Planting Your Garden
Now that the soil is ready, you need to choose what to plant. If you are sowing seeds, use organic ones. If you are planting seedlings, choose organic plants that look strong and healthy. Make sure that the plants are not so close to each other. Therefore, they won’t be too crowded as they grow.
Choose other plants with a special smell to drive pests away. For example, the garlic (大蒜) and cilantro (香菜叶) drive away the beetles, spider mites and white flies. Some plants attract insects that attack pests. Aphids (蚜虫) feed on the leaves of plants. In turn, insects such as ladybirds live on the aphids, keeping the plant pest free.
Taking Care of Your Garden
Weed your garden often. Remember to pull all the weeds out and not just the leaves. The weed will grow back again if some of the root is left behind.
Sometimes harmful insects attack even the best organic gardens. It is necessary to make natural sprays (喷雾) to drive those pests away. Spraying salt and warm water keeps caterpillars and cabbage worms away. Organic gardening is not only fun, but good for the planet as well. Growing vegetables is an enjoyable and useful activity.

The types of memories ●Memory can be 62 into two levels. ●Short﹣term memory can hold information for a short time. ●Long﹣term memory can last for a long time.
The importance of memories ●Motor﹣skill memory helps you remember how to do physical things. ●Emotional memory 63 you of how you felt about something. ●Memories can tell you the story of yourself. ●Memories can also help you manage 64 besides that they can make learning seem much easier.
The 65 of forgetting things ●There is one 66 that information isn’t stored in our memory in an effective way. ●We can not 67 information with other things.
Opinions on forgetting ●It’s not bad to forget something because it is not necessary to remember every detail of the world. ●Your opinion on forgetting. (Try to give at least one reason to support your opinion. ) 68

What forms of transportation would you prefer when you travel, planes, train or cars All of the above will be improved with 5G technology.
Gacha, the word’s first all-weather robot bus in Finland, is a good example. Telecoms company Nokia has set 5G transmitters (信号发射器) in 15 lampposts(路灯柱) along 1-km route. These transmitters are then used to control buses, making them driverless and work perfectly even under difficult conditions—in the dark as well as rain, snow or mud.
There are also 5G roads. These roads have 5G transmitters and cameras. They can provide many services. For example, the roads can tell electric car drivers where the nearest charging station (充电站) is.
In Seoul, a smart management system is being used in one of the city’s underground stations. This system has many smart features, including a 3D map, sensors (传感器) and modern camera system that make station more efficient and safer.
Even airplanes will become smart in the near future. Airbus, one of the world’s biggest airplane makers, is working on new airplanes that will have many sensors and 5G transmitters. The sensors will keep track of (了解……的动态) many things, such as whether the toilet needs to be cleaned, or whether passengers have fastened their seat belts.
We believe that 5G will bring a bright future for smart traveling.
