推测can,could对现在或将来的推测。
can往往用于否定句和疑问句。cannot (can’t) 表示“不可能”。如:You can’t be serious!你不是认真的吧!
could则可用于肯定句、否定句和疑问句,比can语气弱。
He could be in pain.他可能很疼。
That couldn't be true!那不可能是真的!
Can/Could this be true?这有可能是真的吗?
must也可以表示猜测,意思为“一定,准是”,通常只用于肯定句。如:Betty, you must know!贝蒂,你肯定知道!
mustn't 禁止,必须不能,没有推测的用法。
“一定不”是can't
拓展:may表可能,用于肯定句。情态动词 can, could,must表示推测1.You turn right.2.You stop! mustn’t must3.The river is too deep.
