One rainy afternoon, I found a small dog trembling (颤抖) under a bench near my
house. It looked scared and hungry. I decided to take it home, even though my parents
had always said no to pets.
When I showed the dog to my mom, she sighed and said, “We can’t keep it. We’re
too busy to care for a pet.” I begged her to let it stay just for one night. Finally, she
agreed.
I named the dog Lucky. I gave it a warm bath and some food. Lucky wagged (摇摆)
its tail excitedly, as if thanking me. The next morning, my dad noticed Lucky sitting
quietly in the corner. “It’s actually well-behaved (温顺的),” he said. Surprisingly, my
parents agreed to keep Lucky until we found its owner if I promised (承诺) to take full
responsibility (责任).
Over the next few days, Lucky became part of our family. It followed me
everywhere and even learned to follow simple orders like “sit” and “stay.” One day,
when I was upset about a math test, Lucky rested its head on my leg. It seemed to
understand my feelings.
A week later, we put up “Lost Dog” posters around the neighborhood. No one
called. My mom said, “Maybe Lucky was meant to be ours.” I hugged Lucky tightly,
feeling thankful for this unexpected friendship.
Lucky taught me that kindness is a way to connect hearts, even between humans
and animals.

On February 25th 2025, new elderly care robots were shown to people. These
robots help old people in many ways and make their lives easier and happier.
In daily life, the robots can remind old people to take medicine. They walk beside
those who have trouble moving. Sensors (传感器 ) help them know if someone is
unsteady and stop falls. Some robots can even go outside, like walking in the park or
shopping nearby, using navigation (导航).
Loneliness is a big problem, but these robots are good friends. They talk with old
people, tell stories like fairy tales or history, and chat about weather, news, or TV shows.
This makes old people feel less lonely and keeps their minds active.
The robots also do small jobs. They pick up dropped things like books or glasses.
For housework, they dust (擦拭 ) low places, fold (叠 ) clothes, or sweep floors. This
helps old people keep their homes clean without getting too tired.
In the future, robots may watch health better. They could check heart rate, blood
pressure, and temperature. If something is wrong, they can call family or doctors. They
might even help with medical tasks like dressing wounds (包扎伤口) with a doctor’s
help.
As technology develops, making robots will cost less. More families can buy them,
leading to better quality (质量). With an aging population, these robots will become
very important in society.

One possible version:
Dear Tony,
Hope this email finds you well. I’m writing to tell you about our special labor class
at Guangming Farm last Friday.
Our whole class went to the farm in the morning. First, we worked in teams to plant
trees. Each group dug holes, placed saplings carefully, and watered them. Though the
tools were heavy, we laughed while helping each other. Next, we interacted with
animals. I fed fluffy rabbits with carrots and even tried milking a cow—the warm milk
surprised me! The most fun part was picking strawberries. Bright red berries hid under
green leaves like tiny treasures. Only with a pair of scissors and a basket, we tasted the
sweet gifts from the nature.
In short, this experience taught me teamwork makes tasks easier, and farming is
both tiring and joyful. If you come to Shenzhen, I’ll take you to taste freshly picked
strawberries!
Yours,
Li Hua
