A. People should make every means to look pretty.
B. Not external beauty but inner beauty matters.
C. Beauty is more important than happiness.
D. Health and happiness are the beauty we should value.
1.Do you agree that “It's a pretty person's world” Why
In a sense I agree. In today's society, there are countless people who get convenience everywhere because of their good appearances, and there are countless people who run into difficulties because of their bad appearances. Therefore, people tend to choose good looks when choosing a partner or employee. In a sense this is a pretty person's world.
In a sense I disagree. There are many things in the world more important than good looks, such as heath, personality and ability. This is like a big tree, the ability and personality are the root which is hidden underground, and the good looks are branches and leaves which can be seen at the first glimpse. as time goes by, you will find the root-ability is more important.

2. Has your understanding of the importance of appearance changed after reading the passage Why
Yes. I think that inner beauty is very important, but external beauty can't be completely overlooked. I believe inner beauty holds great significance, yet external beauty should not be entirely disregarded. Both aspects complement each other, creating a comprehensive sense of beauty that encompasses both the heart and appearance.

3. In addition to those methods mentioned in the passage, what other ways do you think can make you become a better person
I think we can read or travel. For someone said that “ You can either travel or read, but either your body or soul must be on the way.” These can enrich our knowledge and broaden our horizons.
Or: In my opinion, reading more books, being a kind person or a useful person to society can also help make me become a better person.
Or: The following five ways may help you. ① Knowing yourself: Don't be afraid to be yourself and set your own standards of beauty.② Being pretty on the inside.③ Taking care of your body and health.④ Taking care of your skin and hair.⑤ Taking care of your outfits(着装) and style.

4. Have you encountered any difficulties in understanding the main idea of this passage Share them with the class and ask for advice.
At first, when I understood this text, I took it for granted that it was about the importance of inner beauty. But when I read it carefully, I realized that the article advocated a very comprehensive view, which not only focused on the inner beauty, but also appreciated the outer beauty. The most important point the author advocates is that whether you have external beauty or internal beauty, your beauty is full of confidence and sports health is the most important.

Beauty, to me, is a blend of inner and outer harmony. It's not just about looks but also about kindness, confidence, and the pursuit of dreams. True beauty shines from within, reflecting our true selves.
Continuous learning, practicing empathy, and staying active in my community are key. They broaden my horizons, strengthen relationships, and help me make a positive impact, making me a better person overall.
