一、并列连词
分类 连 词 例 句
并 列 关 系 and 和;与 I like bread and milk. 我喜欢面包和牛奶。
both...and... ……和……都 Both Tom and Jim are in China.汤姆和吉姆都在中国。
not only...but also...不但…… 而且…… Not only you but also Bill is from the USA. 不但你而且比尔也来自美国。
neither...nor 既不……也不…… Neither Nick nor Ann likes the book. 尼克和安都不喜欢这本书。
转 折 关 系 but但是 I failed, but I won’t give up.我失败了,但是我不放弃。
while然而 I like spring,while Tom likes winter. 我喜欢春天,而汤姆喜欢冬天。
因 果 关 系 for因为 The days are long, for it is May now.白天长,因为现在是五月份。
so因此;所以 I like the book, so I will buy it.我喜欢这本书,所以我要买下它。
选 择 关 系 or或者 Do you like apples or pears 你喜欢苹果还是梨
either...or... 或者…… 或者…… Either you or Tom is right. 要么你对,要么汤姆对。
【温馨提示】
1.两对“冤家对头”不能同时出现在一个句子中:从属连词although/though与并列连词but;从属连词because与并列连词so。
2.通常情况下,肯定句中用and,否定句中用or。否定句中如果用and,需要重复否定词。如:
He has brothers and sisters.他有兄弟姐妹。
He has no brothers or sisters.
=He has no brothers and no sisters.
他既没有兄弟,也没有姐妹。
二、从属连词
1.引导宾语从句的从属连词:that、if、whether。如:
I know that the puppy is very clever.
我知道这只小狗很聪明。
We don’t know if/whether it will rain tomorrow. 我们不知道明天是否下雨。
2.引导状语从句的从属连词
时 间 when,whenever,as,while,before,after,until,till,since, as soon as I was watching TV when she came back. 当她回来的时候,我正在看电视。
地 点 where,wherever Bob would like to go wherever he likes.鲍勃想去他喜欢的任何地方。
原 因 as,because,since He isn’t at school because he is ill. 他没在学校因为他生病了。
