UNDERSEA ADVENTURE
DISCOVER A HIDDEN ENGLAND
Come and explore the magical waters around the Farne Islands, one of England's premier dive sites. With both shallow and deep-water diving, there's something for divers of all skill levels, from shipwrecks waiting for you to discover their secrets to the islands' lovely baby seals!
WRECK DIVING:
Let our instructors take you on a circuit through the 6,810-ton steamer Somali, which sank in 1941 during the Second World War. The ship rests upright on the sea bed, about 30 metres below the waves. She almost looks as though she is about to set sail once again!
SCENIC DIVING:
Swim with Farne's most lovely residents: the thousands of grey seals that live on the island all year. Although the 300 kg adult males can look a bit scary - don't worry, they're harmless! --- the young seals will delight you with their curiosity, as they follow you among the seaweed forests and schools of unusual fish.

I couldn't believe that I succeeded in diving and swam with the seals for 10 minutes! I never thought I could start an adventure under the sea before, till my parents took me to the Farne Islands and tried diving there.
We were offered two choices, either wreck diving - to see the wrecked ship Somali, or scenic diving - to have a good time with the grey seals. I chose the second one because it was less challenging and I love sea animals.
Diving turned out to be much less difficult than I had imagined. I just put on the instruments and followed my instructor. I was a bit scared, but my instructor told me to take it easy. At first, I could only see nothing, but when my eyes gradually adjusted to the darkness, I could see deep blue waves moving up and down, and small fishes swimming. Soon we reached the spot, and I could breathe normally.

It was such a wonderful world. Before realising it, I had been in the seaweed forest surrounded by the young seals. They were eager to get close to me and dance around me. I reached out my hand to touch one of them. All of a sudden, something big appeared on my right. I turned around and almost got astonished. It was a huge male seal. I was so scared fearing it would attack me. But it just touched me lightly with its body, as if it wanted to hug me. I put my hands on its back, trying to feel its smooth skin. The world here was so quiet that it felt that time had stopped.
Finally, my instructor gestured for me to go up. When I reached the surface, I had to readjust to the sunlight. What had happened just now was like a dream.

Saturday, June 5, clear
I signed up for a diving program last week, so I got up early today. All the divers assembled at 8 am. Then we went to the waters around the Farne Islands. I was so excited to see the deep blue sea.
Firstly, we visited a shipwreck, the 6,810-ton steamer Somali, which sank in 1941 during the Second World War. The ship rested upright on the sea bed, about 30 metres below the waves. She was so amazing that it looked as though she was about to set sail once again!
The second dive was to swim with Farne's most lovely residents, the thousands of grey seals that live on the island all year. I saw the 300kg adult males which were the largest animals in my memory. It looked a bit scary, but the instructor told us they were harmless. Then I saw the young seals followed me among the seaweed forests and schools of unusual fish.
In the late afternoon, I finished the diving. Although it was a bit tired, I still think it was the most unforgettable experience.

The World Under the Sea
The world under the sea is a mysterious and fascinating place. It covers over 70% of the Earth's surface and is full of wonders.
There are many different kinds of ocean animals living in the sea. Some are tiny, like plankton, while others are huge, like whales. Coral reefs are colorful and beautiful, with all sorts of shapes and sizes. They are home to many fish and other sea creatures.
The deep ocean is especially mysterious. It's very dark and cold, and there are many creatures there that we don't even know about yet. Scientists are always exploring the deep ocean to learn more about it.
The sea is also important for our survival. It produces oxygen, regulates the climate, and provides food for many people around the world. We should take care of the ocean and protect it from pollution and overfishing.
In conclusion, the world under the sea is amazing and full of life. Let's explore and protect it together!
