热点话题综合练
一、阅读理解
(2025·广东东莞·一模)In recent years, more and more people are interested in electric vehicles. An
electric vehicle is a vehicle that uses an electric motor instead of a gasoline engine (汽油发动机).
Electric vehicles have many advantages. First, they are more environmentally friendly. They produce less
pollution than gasoline-powered vehicles. Second, they are more energy-efficient. They can convert (转换) more
of the energy from the battery into movement than gasoline engines. Third, they are quieter. The electric motor
makes much less noise than a gasoline engine.
However, electric vehicles also have some disadvantages. One of the main disadvantages is the limited
driving range. Most electric vehicles can only travel about 100-300 kilometers on a single charge (充电). Another
disadvantage is the long charging time. It can take several hours to fully charge an electric vehicle, while it only
takes a few minutes to fill up a gasoline-powered vehicle.
Despite these disadvantages, the development of electric vehicles is still very promising. With the
improvement of battery technology, the driving range of electric vehicles is getting longer and the charging time is

(2025·山东德州·一模).
Autonomous driving is becoming an important part of future transportation, but it still faces many
challenges with technology and infrastructure (基础建设).
A report from China Youth Daily explains that there are two main types of self-driving systems today:
those that use cameras and those that use LiDAR (激光雷达). Each system has its own problems. For example,
Tesla’s system uses cameras and deep learning, without high-precision (高精度的) maps. It works well in clear
weather but has trouble in bad conditions like heavy rain or fog. Other companies, like Xpeng Motors, use LiDAR
technology, but it is expensive, around 7,000 yuan for each system, making it hard to use widely.
Another problem is keeping the cars safe from hackers (黑客). Hackers can break into the car’s system and
take control of it using the internet. This could cause accidents or lead to the hackers asking for money.
Self-driving cars can have problems when something unexpected happens. For example, if a traffic light
stops working, the car might not know what to do because it is only trained to follow the light. Also, if a child
runs into the street, the car needs to react fast; but sometimes its sensors (感应器) might not see the child in time.
Besides these technical problems, the infrastructure for autonomous driving is still in the early stages of
exploration, said the BBC. Many cities don’t have a clear plan for their traffic systems. Self-driving cars need to
share data (数据) quickly and have powerful computers. Making cars and roads work together needs a lot of
teamwork. But rights now, many cities don’t have the technology to send data fast enough.
“Even though self-driving cars perform as well as or even better than humans in some situations, it will still
take time before they can be widely used,” said Zhang Yongwei, an electric vehicle (电动汽车) expert, to Xinhua.
1.What is one big challenge for Tesla’s self-driving system
A.High cost of built-in cameras.
B.Trouble working well in bad weather.
C.Difficulty in using deep machine learning.
D.Dependence on high-precision maps.
2.Why isn’t LiDAR technology widely used
A.It is not safe enough. B.It needs high-precision maps.
C.It is very expensive. D.It is still under development.
3.What does Paragraph 3 say about self-driving cars
A.They don’t break down often.
B.They can protect themselves from hackers.
C.They can be hacked and controlled.
D.They can deal with accidents by themselves.
4.Why is the current infrastructure a problem for using self-driving cars
A.Not all roads have traffic lights.
B.Data is not shared quickly enough.
C.Many cities may not have enough computers to process data.
D.Self-driving cars can only run on straight roads.
5.How does Zhang Yongwei see the future of self-driving cars
A.They will never perform as well as human drivers.
B.They will soon replace all human-driven cars.
C.They will cause many social problems.
D.They need more time to develop.

The race is on to get more electric cars on the road. People predict that electric cars might be more common
in the future. But according to a 2021 survey by Pew Research Center, more than half of American adults like
gas-powered cars better. They say electric cars are expensive and charging (充电) them is a big problem. For now,
most people plan to stick with gas-powered cars. We ask young readers what they think about electric cars.
Henry, 12 years old, San Francisco
I think we should all have electric cars. This would cut down air pollution and allow us
to breathe better. Cleaner air also means there will be fewer animals dying. Think of all the
lives we have lost by destroying our environment.
Some people think electric cars are pricey. But their prices are coming down. What’s
more, gas costs a lot more than electricity. Once you use the gas, it’s gone. Anyway, I think
we’re going to run out of gas at some point. This will make electric cars a need. Also,do you
know that electric cars can travel 33 miles for about a dollar You can’t say that for gas. All
cars should be electric!
Sandy, 13 years old, New York
I don’t think all cars should be electric. First of all, charging stations are less common
than gas stations. This makes electric cars a lot less convenient for long trips. What’s more,
cold weather does harm to the batteries (电池). They can’t work well as usual. And electric
cars are also more expensive than common cars. A new electric car usually costs around
$11,000 more than a new gas car. We know that electric cars help slow climate change. But
throwing batteries away can hurt our planet.

Could you imagine being in a car driven by a computer, not a man Recently, China has made a big step
toward self-driving technology. Since August, driverless taxis can run on roads in Wuhan, Chongqing and
Shenzhen.
Self-driving cars bring us many benefits. They use computers to sense the things around them and make
better use of space. This means fewer traffic jams and better parking of cars. For disabled or blind people,
self-driving cars can also help them get around more easily.
According to official statistics (统计数据), self-driving cars could easily reduce road accidents. The main
cause of car accidents is human error (错误). By using computers, self-driving cars don’t make poor decisions or
lose focus like humans do.
But self-driving cars aren’t perfect. ________ something unexpected happens, self-driving cars can’t react
as fast as a human driver. Also, during weather events like heavy snow, self-driving cars would fail to see the
lines on the road easily. It might lead to an accident. Lastly, the car’s computer system would be broken by
someone, causing it to crash or change its direction.
“It is clear that there is still a lot of work to do to make self-driving cars a common and safe sight on our
roads. And China is taking the lead in making this happen,” said China Daily.

(2025·河北·模拟预测)阅读下面短文,简略回答问题。
Imagine a world where taxis drive themselves, picking you up and dropping you off all by themselves.
Sounds magical, right These self-driving taxis, often called robotaxis , are being tested in many places around the
world. But don’t worry, human drivers. Here’s why robotaxis won’t take the place of human drivers for at least
ten years.
Firstly, driving a car is not very easy. Robotaxis are very smart, but they still need to learn a lot about
unexpected situations on the road. For example, if a child runs into the street or a dog runs after a ball onto the
highway, human drivers can react quickly and make safe decisions. Robotaxis find it difficult to deal with such
sudden changes, no matter how advanced they are.
Secondly, our roads and cities aren’t ready for robotaxis everywhere. If every car drives itself there must be
heavy traffic unless everything is planned perfectly. Cities need to update (升级) traffic lights and street designs to
keep robotaxis safe.
Thirdly, many people like having human drivers around. It’s nicer to chat with them than with robotaxis
and knowing someone can help if something goes wrong makes them feel safer.
Lastly, laws and rules about robotaxis need to be sorted out. Different countries have different rules about
testing and using robotaxis and it will take time to use them in the safest way. In a word, although robotaxis are
cool and might make our lives simpler in some ways, they won’t replace human drivers soon. For now, we can
enjoy the advantages of both technology and human driving on the road!
1.What are robotaxis
2.What do robotaxis need to learn about
3.What should cities do to keep robotaxis safe
4.Why do many people like human drivers better
5.Do you wish robotaxis to replace human drivers in the future Why or why not
【答案】1.Self-driving taxis. 2.Unexpected situations on the road. 3.Update traffic lights and street
designs. 4.Because it’s nicer to chat with human drivers and knowing someone can help if something goes
wrong makes them feel safer. 5.No, I don’t. Because human drivers can deal with some unexpected situations
better than robotaxis and they can also provide emotional communication and make people feel safer.

(2025·安徽芜湖·模拟预测)Imagine this: You jump into a car on a weekend morning, and it takes you to
where you want to go without needing any directions. When it drops you off, it drives itself back home, so you
don’t have to worry about parking. This is what self-driving cars can do.
A self-driving car is a car that can sense its surroundings (周 围 环 境 ) and drive without human help.
Depending on how advanced (先进的) the car is, it might need different levels of human help. At the highest
levels, a person might not need to control the car at all. But at lower levels, a person might still need to step in
sometimes. However, making self-driving cars isn’t simple. According to Wired, it’s a whole system with
different parts that need care. Things like road networks influence it.
Although making self-driving cars takes a lot of time and money, the benefits are worth it. For example,
these cars could avoid road accidents. US government data shows that 94 percent of car accidents happen because
of drivers’ mistakes. Self-driving cars can also give more freedom to disabled people. Besides, these cars produce
less pollution by cutting down on traffic jams and not running when they’re not needed.
Many big companies such as Baidu and Tesla are making self-driving cars. Goldman Sachs, a leading
global bank, said self-driving cars could make up 10 percent of new car sales by 2030.
1.What does the need for human help depend on in a self-driving car
A.The speed of the car. B.The road network system.
C.How advanced the car is. D.The surroundings when driving.
2.What is introduced about self-driving cars in paragraph 3
A.Why the traffic accidents happen in the US.

1.According to the survey, over half of the American adults think that ______.
A.charging electric cars is not a big deal
B.the price of electric car is high
C.electric cars can work better in cold weather
2.What does the underlined word “pricey” probably mean
A.快的 B.珍贵的 C.昂贵的
3.According to Henry’s idea, which of the following is TRUE
A.There will be less air pollution by driving electric cars.
B.Electric cars are not convenient for long trips.
C.Electric costs a lot more than gas.
4.Where can you probably read the passage

(2025·重庆沙坪坝·一模)①Imagine you are in an autonomous vehicle (AV, 自动驾驶车辆) and face
this terrible choice: The car must either turn left and hit an 8-year-old girl, or turn right and hit many walkers. On
top of this “moral dilemma”, if the car doesn’t turn, you could be in danger. What decision would you want the
car to make
②When AVs face dangerous situations, should they save people in the car first or walkers Should they put
the greater good above one person’s safety These questions have been under discussion for years, but there is no
perfect answer.
③ “A moral dilemma is a dilemma; it has no clear answer,” wrote Derek Leben, a professor at the Tepper
School of Business, US, in his paper.
④Iyad Radhwan, an MIT scientist studied these questions. He found out that people often think about their
own safety first. “People buying these cars, they want cars that protect the passengers. But they want other people’
s cars to protect walkers instead.”
⑤AVs bring not only moral dilemmas but also problems with rules. If there is an accident, who should be
responsible
⑥In July, 2024, a self-driving taxi by Baidu hit a walker in Wuhan, Hubei, who ran a red light. Baidu
worked with the police and took the walker to the hospital. In another accident in Seattle, US. in April, 2024, it
was decided that the “driver” should be responsible because he was on his phone while in the full self-driving
mode (模式).
⑦The situations of different accidents caused by AVs are so complex (复杂的) that “now there are no very
clear laws about it”, said Ji Xuehong, a researcher from North China University of technology.
1.Which of the following sentences can we put “dilemma” in
A.She faced a _________ when accepting the job abroad or stay with her family.
B.His biggest _________ was forgetting to bring lunch to school yesterday.
C.The broken computer caused a serious _________ for his work project.
D.The teacher gave us a fun _________ to solve in groups during class.
2.What is Paragraph 6 mainly about
A.Real-life examples of AV accidents in China. B.The best ways to deal with the moral dilemma.
C.Rules of driving AVs in big cities like Seattle. D.Different situations of accidents caused by AVs.
3.What might be Ji Xuehong’s opinion in the last paragraph
A.AVs remain difficult to drive. B.AVs require better traffic laws.
C.AVs can cause a lot of trouble. D.AVs can replace human drivers.

New energy cars are becoming more and more popular around the world. As environmental problems grow,
more and more people are turning to buy these new eco-friendly cars. 1
One of the main advantages of new energy cars is their positive influence on the environment. Electric cars,
for example, produce zero carbon. 2 This helps to reduce air pollution and improve air quality,
especially in city areas. What’s more, many electric cars use solar or wind power for charging, further reducing
their carbon.
Another advantage of new energy cars is low cost. Although the price of some new energy cars may be
higher than that of traditional cars, the long-term cost can be much lower. 3 Electricity is generally
cheaper than gasoline (汽油), and electricity cars also need less maintenance (维护) because of their simpler
engine (发动机).
However, when the new energy cars are widely used, some new challenges are coming. 4 This
can make long-distance travel inconvenient for car owners. In addition, the high cost of batteries (电池) is still a
care for many consumers.
New energy cars will play an even more important role in the global transportation system in the coming
years.
A.This means they don’t release (放出) harmful pollution into the air.
B.There are not enough charging (充电) stations in many places.
C.They have several advantages over traditional cars.
D.People are not willing to buy new energy vehicles.
E.Owners can save money on fuel (燃料) and maintenance.

1.In which city can we find driverless taxis
2.What benefits can self-driving cars bring disabled people
3.请结合文意,在文中“________”处填入一个适当的连词,使上下文通顺、连贯。
4.How many reasons are mentioned to prove self-driving cars is not perfect
5.What do you think of self-driving cars

traditional cars.
EVs also have many other advantages. They are quieter than traditional cars. And they cost less to run. You
don’t need to buy gasoline for an EV. You can just charge it at home.
However, there are also some problems with EVs. One problem is that it takes a long time to charge an EV.
Another problem is that there are not enough charging stations.
1.Why are electric vehicles becoming more and more popular
2.Do electric vehicles produce more pollution than traditional cars
3.What are the advantages of electric vehicles (List two advantages)
4.What are the problems with electric vehicles (List one problem)
5.What do you think of electric vehicles

However, the taxi also 4 some people. It’s really cheap to take the robotaxi. For example, one
person only paid 26.52 yuan for a 28-kilometer, 64-minute trip in Wuhan. The 5 makes many people
choose to use the robotaxi. This makes some taxi drivers feel worried. They say they may 6 their jobs
in the future because they have fewer and fewer orders.
The robotaxi also brings other problems. A video shows that a robotaxi in Wuhan stops in front of a bag on
the road, making the road very 7 . In another video, two robotaxis are facing each other, not knowing
what to do next. What’s worse, a robotaxi caused an accidents 8 it didn’t see a person on the road.
The company thinks it’s 9 to make people stay away from danger, so its workers are working

“Apollo Go” is Baidu’s autonomous (自动的) driving ride hailing service platform, which can provide
robotaxis for people. It’s 1 that “Apollo Go” has had test operations in 11 cities. Among these, Wuhan
has the largest platform. And the service has 2 hot discussion on social media so far.
“Apollo Go” attracts many passengers with its low prices and special experience. According to one
passenger, he only 3 CNY 5.1 for a 12-kilometer ride, while a traditional taxi would have charged
CNY 29. Besides the low price, the space in the robotaxi is 4 more private than common cars because
there’s no driver, making it very comfortable to sit for introverts (“i 人”).
5 , some people are unhappy. They are worrying 6 losing their jobs, because the price
of robotaxis is much cheaper than 7 of traditional taxis. An expert explains that driverless cars won’t
be a challenge to the traditional taxis because people 8 plan to experience this new technology, and the
number of robotaxis on the road is still far 9 than traditional taxis’. He also notes that self driving taxis
