语言点精讲
1.Panda keepers are preparing milk for the baby panda’s breakfast.
熊猫饲养员正在为熊猫宝宝的早餐准备牛奶.
prepare可以用作及物动词,译为“准备”, 后接名词或代词做宾语。表示“给(某人准备(某物)”可用prepare sb. sth. 也可转换为prepare sth. for sb. 表示“准备做某事”可用prepare to do sth.
Students are preparing for the final exam.学生们正在为期未考试做准备。
她给我们准备了可口的早餐。
She prepared us a nice breakfast. (=She prepared a nice breakfast for us.)
汤姆正在准备挑战这个困难。Tom is preparing to challenge the difficulty.
prepare还可作不及物动词,常用短语prepare for sth.译为,为…做准备
prepare的名词是preparation,常用复数,表示“具体的准备工作”。
The preparations for the party took hours. 聚会的准备工作花了几个小时。
They find that most of the babies are already awake and hungry.
他们发现大部分熊猫宝宝已经醒了并饿了。
awake是形容词,意思是“醒着的” 反义词 : asleep adj.睡着的在句中常做表语,常用搭配“醒着的\保持清醒”be\stay\keep awake注意 awake不用于名词前, 做定语时要后置。
他是最后一个醒着的人。He is the last to be awake up.
虽然他很累,他仍然努力保持清醒。Although he is tired, he still tries to keep awake.
wake是动词,意思是:叫醒;醒来, 常用搭配“醒来,叫醒(某人), wake up …

4.Scientists say there are now fewer than 2, 000 pandas living in the forest.
1). There be +主语(名词或名词短语)+doing sth.,意思是有……正在做某事。主语与 doing之间是逻辑主谓关系, 通常表示是经常性的、状态性的或正在发生的事情
比如:那里有许多男孩在打篮球。There are many boys playing basketball.
Today there are already robots working in the factories
There is a boy cleaning the classroom. 有一个男孩在打扫教室。
There are two dogs running. 有两只狗在跑。
2). there be+主语-to do 主语与to do之间一殿是逻辑动宾关系, 多是表示未发生的,将来的事情。
比如:那里还有很多要浇水的花。There are a lot of flowers to be wanted.
The babies often die from illness and do not live very long. 小熊猫经常会死于疾病不会活很长时间。
1). die from意为死于, 常表示外界因素导致的死亡, 而die of 常表示疾病、饥寒等内因导致的死亡。若后跟疾病或表示疾病的名词时可通用。
这位老人死于心班病。 The old man died from\of heart attack.
非洲贫穷的孩子常常死于饥饿。The poor children in Africa often die of hunger.
他的父亲去年死于交通事故。 His father died from a traffic accident.
2).die为动词,现在分词是dying ,其名词是death,形容词是dead.
These rabbits are all dead.
My grandpa died two years ago.
His death is a great loss to us.
6.Adult pandas spend more than 12 hours a day eating about 10kilos of bamboo.
成年熊猫每天花费12个多小时吃掉大约10千克的竹子。
spend的意思是花费,常用结构sb. spend some time\money (in) doing sth.或sb. spend some time\money …on sth..
我买那本书花了10元钱。I spent 10 yuan on that book.
take和cost也有“花费”的意思,但有用法上的区别:take常用于句型It takes sb. some time to do sth.
而cost的主语往往是物,常用结构为sth. cost\costs sb. some time\money.
The story book cost me 5 yuan. 我买那本故事书花了5元钱。
It took me 2 hours to finish the work.我花费两个小时完成那项工作。
