写作(满分40分)
应用文(满分15分)
Last week, our school organized a lecture themed “Care for Life, Rescue at Hand” to raise awareness of conducting first aid and equip students with essential life saving skills.
The lecture covered topics related to first aid techniques and emergency response. Medical experts were invited to share their knowledge and experience in emergencies such as heart arrest, and choking. They demonstrated proper techniques for performing CPR, and the Heimlich maneuver. Additionally, the lecture also focused on the significance of staying calm in emergencies, as well as working together to provide effective assistance.
The lecture turned out to be a great success. By arming students with the necessary skills and knowledge, we are taking a significant step towards creating a safer and more resilient campus.

67参考范文:
Nearing the doorway, Jenny took a deep breath. When she pushed the door open and entered the house, she found her mother was not in. Tired and sad, she sunk down into the sofa. “Where could my mother be ” she wondered. “Was she still angry with me ” Again, the scene of the quarrel appeared in her mind. She remembered her rudeness to her mother. Realizing that all the scolding from her mother was due to the fact that her mother really cared a lot about her, she felt rather ashamed, tears rolling down her cheeks.
At that time, her mother came back and touched her hair gently, which called her mind back. She raised her head and saw the familiar face of her mother. “Here you come! I’ve been looking for you,” she said, fatigued but relieved. Jenny couldn’t help throwing herself into her mother’ arms. “Mum, I’m so sorry and thank you for all you have done for me.” she expressed her sincere apology and great gratitude. Hearing this, her mother smiled, patting her back gently. It dawned on Jenny that Mum’s love was invisible and intangible, but always surrounded us.

【原文】
W: Currently, there are over 1,000 seed banks located all over the world. How does the seed bank work First, scientists from all over the world collect endangered and useful wild species, put them in a paper or cotton bag to prevent them from getting bad, and send them to the seed bank. Once the seeds arrive, they're dried and preserved in a special room. After that, X-rays confirm that the seeds are undamaged and that no insects are hidden inside. The seeds are then frozen, stored in special containers and then placed in huge freezers at 20℃ for long-term storage, which allows the seeds to be preserved for decades and reawakened when required. One of the most famous seed banks, Svalbard International Seed Bank, now holds more than one million seed samples. It is located deep in a frozen Arctic mountain in Norway. As Earth is facing huge challenges like climate change, these seed banks are surely significant to safeguard the future of the world's food supply.福州市八县(市,区)协作校2024-2025学年第二学期期中联考

In a breathtaking incident in Berlin, a young man narrowly escaped a life threatening situation where he became trapped beneath a bus.
The 16 year old found himself unable to move beneath a tyre (轮胎) of the bus when he fell down during an attempt to catch the departing vehicle at a local stop on a Monday afternoon. The quick response of the bus driver, who immediately stopped the vehicle, coupled with the assistance of roughly 40 people, including both passengers and bystanders, led to a remarkable achievement. Together, they managed to lift the right side of the bus sufficiently to free the young man.
Frank Kurze, one of the courageous volunteers who participated in the rescue, recalled the messy scene, stating, “I saw the men trying to lift the bus, and it was clear to me that I also had to help lift the bus and try to pull the young man from underneath.”
Nearby medical professionals from a healthcare center in the Spandau neighborhood of Berlin instantly arrived at the scene to provide vital first aid. Michelle Rueckborn, one of the nurses on duty, shared their response, saying, “We were at work when we heard screams, and our coworker looked out of the window and saw what had happened, and said ‘Grab the doctor's kit and run.’”
Sandra Grunwald, another nurse present at the scene, added, “He was responsive but understandably confused, unsure of what was unfolding around him.” Despite the frightening circumstances, the young man unbelievably survived with only minor injuries, thanks to the collective effort of around 40 individuals who came together to perform a heroic rescue.
The Berlin police department praised the collective efforts of those involved in the rescue as “heroes” and expressed their gratitude on social media, stating, “Thank you, Spandau. Thank you, Berlin.”

D.The driver found the bus uncontrollable.
25.What did Frank Kurze do at the rescue scene

A.Tolerant. B.Creative.
C.Patient. D.Decisive.

When it comes to heart attacks, the first image that often comes to mind is that of a middle-aged man, grasping his chest and struggling with a pained expression. This is what you’re most likely to see when searching “heart attack” online. You’re far less likely to think of a female heart attack victim.
According to Forbes, medical research has traditionally been led by men, which undoubtedly leads to a lack of female-related data and information in medical research. From diagnosis to treatment, gender differences are often overlooked. For example, a 2017 study found that women are at greater risk of dying of heart attacks than men.
The reason lies in the difference in heart attack symptoms between men and women. According to the Mayo Clinic, one of the top-ranking hospitals in the US, women are less likely to have chest pains, which are considered as a typical symptom of heart attacks. Instead, they have more atypical symptoms, including shoulder pain and arm pain. As a result, many women were initially given a mistaken diagnosis , delaying access to the right treatment and increasing the fatality rate.
Even if a female is correctly and immediately diagnosed with a heart attack, there’s another problem: medicine. Research has found that certain medicines used to dissolve blood clots (凝块) right after a heart attack can be helpful for a lot of men, but might lead to serious bleeding issues in women.
Although women are no longer seen as inferior in most parts of the world today, the fields of healthcare and medicine still see a male’s body as the “standard” human body. For example, Valium has been promoted as the “mother’s little helper” for treating anxiety among women. However, a study noted that the medicine developer had never conducted a single trial involving women until 2003.
Take a look at the medicine you have taken recently. There’s always one recommended dosage (剂量) for adults. But who is this dosage meant for An adult in general, or specifically an adult man

Art and science may seem like opposite things. One means the creative flow of ideas, and the other means cold hard data—some people believe. In fact, the two have much in common. Now, a study finds art can help students remember better what they learned in science class.
Mariale Hardiman, an education specialist at Johns Hopkins University, noticed that students who used art in the classroom listened more carefully. They might ask more questions. They might volunteer more ideas. What’s more, students seemed to remember more of what they had been taught when their science lessons had involved art. To prove that, Hardiman teamed up with some researchers and six local schools.
In the experiment, the researchers worked with teachers in 16 fifth-grade classrooms. They provided traditional science lessons and art-focused ones. In a traditional science class, for example, students might read aloud from a book. In the art-focused one, they might sing the information instead.
The team randomly assigned(随机分配) each of the 350 students to either a traditional science classroom or an art-focused one. Students then learned science using that way for the whole unit about three weeks. When they changed to a new topic, they also changed to the other type of class. This way, each student had both an art-focused class and a traditional one. Every unit was taught in both ways, to different groups of students. This enabled the researchers to see how students did in both types of classes.
The team found that students who started off in traditional classes performed better after they moved into an art-focused class. But those who started in an art-focused class did well even when they went back to a traditional science class. These students appeared to use some of the art technique after going back to a traditional class. Classroom teachers reported that many students continued to sing the songs that they learned after finishing the unit. “The more we hear something, the more we retain it,” Hardiman says. “It suggests that the arts may help students apply creative ways of learning on their own.”
32. Why did Mariale Hardiman do the study
A. To prove the importance of art at school.
B. To know how to encourage students to ask questions.
C. To find a way to help her students learn better.
D. To see if art might improve science learning.
33. What were the students required to do in the experiment
A. Learn three units in total. B. Choose what they’d like to learn
C. Learn two topics for three weeks. D. Take two types of classes.
34. What does the underlined word “retain” in the last paragraph mean
A. Remember. B. Express. C. Improve. D. Finish.
35. What is the text mainly about
A. Art helps students develop creativity.
B. Art-focused classes interest students a lot.
C. Art can make science easier to remember.
D. Art has something in common with science.

Jenny was the only child in her family. She had a quarrel (吵架) with her mother that afternoon and she ran out of the house angrily. She couldn’t help weeping sorrowfully when she thought of the scolding from her mother. Having wandered aimlessly in the street for hours, she felt a little hungry and wished for something to eat. She stood beside a stand (货摊) for a while, watching the middle-aged seller busy doing his business. However, with no money in hand, she gave a sigh and had to leave.
The seller behind the stand noticed the young girl and asked, “Hey, girl, you want to have the noodles ”
“Oh, yes, but I don’t have money on me.” she replied.
“That’s nothing. I’ll treat you today,” said the man, “Come in.”
The seller brought her a bowl of noodles, whose smell was so attractive. As she was eating, Jenny cried silently.
“What is it ” asked the man kindly.
“Nothing. Actually, I was just touched by your kindness!” said Jenny as she wiped her tears. “Even a stranger on the street will give me a bowl of noodles, while my mother drove me out of the house. She showed no care for me. She is so merciless compared to a stranger!”
Hearing the words, the seller smiled, “Girl, do you really think so I only gave you a bowl of noodles and you thanked me a lot. But it is your mother who has raised you since you were a baby. Can you remember the times she cooked for you Have you expressed your gratitude to her ”
Jenny sat there, speechless and numb with shock. She remembered her mother’s familiar face and weathered hands. “Why didn’t I think of that A bowl of noodles from a stranger made me feel grateful. Why haven’t I thanked my mum for what she has done for me ”
On the way home. Jenny made up her mind to make an apology to her mother for her rudeness as soon as she arrived home.
