Zhu Jinxiang, a student in Ganzhou, Jiangxi, carried his classmate and close friend, Zhong Huaqiang, on his back to school for 10 years. Zhong was born with cerebral palsy(脑瘫).So he is not able to stand or walk. Luckily, he had Zhu by his side.
Zhu lived in the same village as Zhong. He and other kids in the village took turns carrying Zhong on their backs to school when they went into the third grade in primary school. After entering middle school, Zhu and Zhong were in the same class. By chance, they became deskmates, and that’s when their friendship started to grow stronger with each passing day.
“At first I just tried to show how strong I was by carrying him. Then I found that every time I was sad, he would cheer me up. As time went on, we became good friends.” said Zhu.
Zhu carried Zhong on his back to classroom, playground, bathroom, and other places where Zhong needed to go. They talked about everything and did their homework together every day.
“Our friendship was a two-way relationship. I helped him deal with the little things in life, and he helped me with my studies. And that made me become a better one,” said Zhu.
The strong friendship between Zhu and Zhong encouraged many of their classmates to help each other. Their story went viral online and touched many people. Let’s hope that their friendship will last forever. This story shows us that true friendship can overcome any difficulty and make our lives more meaningful.

What is friendship Friendship is a special bridge that connects people from all walks of life. It brings joy, support, and warmth(温暖) to our lives. No matter where we are in the world, we all value the friends who stand by us through thick and thin. Now people around the world celebrate Friendship Day. Do you know the stories behind it
An American woman, Joyce Hall, sold cards. In 1930, she got the idea of Friendship Day. She thought if people had a new day to celebrate, they would buy more cards. Many Americans gave cards and other gifts to their friends on the day. However, they stopped doing it because they didn’t want to see it become a business. In 1935, the USA decided to make it the first Sunday of August. It became a day to celebrate true friends.
The story behind Friendship Day is different in Paraguay(巴拉圭). In 1958, a group of friends in Puerto Pinasco, Paraguay, decided to celebrate friendship on July 30th every year. One man in the group, Ramon Artemio Bracho, wanted to do more. He worked hard to start celebrations in other countries. Thanks to Ramon’s work, more countries took up the idea. Friendship Day was growing.
In 2011, the United Nations stated July 30th the International Day of Friendship. On that day, there are activities in different countries, like fun runs and friendly games. But not all countries celebrate Friendship Day on July 30th. Argentina and Brazil celebrate it on July 20th. In India, they celebrate it on the first Sunday of August.
No matter when we celebrate it, Friendship Day is all about showing love and thanks for our friends.
