This famous poem (诗), Happy Rain on a Spring Night, was written by Du Fu (712—770, the Tang Dynasty) when he was living and farming in Chengdu. His farming experience taught him to be thankful (感谢) to nature and it is shown in this poem.
The very first word, “good”, shows the poet’s joy and love for the spring rain. The rain is good because it “knows” the proper time to come. Here the poet uses personification (拟人), as if the rain was smart enough to come in time for the farmers’ busy season.
When the rain comes, it appears during the night without making any noise. Unlike the summer storms, the spring rain finishes its task without being known.
In the third couplet (对句), the poet describes a peaceful scene to us. In the night sky, the clouds look dark and heavy. It’s a sign that there will be enough rain during the night. The light from the boat makes the dark scene a bit livelier.

What do you usually use memes(梗)for Two young women have turned fun memes into dance moves. They’ve gained about 800, 000 fans with their amazing and funny performances.
Asuan, 26, and Lidawang, 29, are two graduate students of Beijing Dance Academy. They wanted to make something different from the beautiful stage performances that they learned in school.
“We came to find our own styles — funny moves, simple stories and ear-catching music. Whether the idea comes from memes, cartoons, or games, we take these parts of young people’s pop culture and remade them,” said Lidawang.
However, being funny doesn’t mean they don’t put their heart into the dance moves. Memes are popular because of their special performances, and making that funny performance with dance can be very challenging. It usually takes them one to six months to make a two-minute dance video. To improve their moves they would record their practice and then look at their moves over and over.
Asuan even made a teaching video for one of their most popular dances — “the Yellow Alien(外星人)”, based on the meme from the Spanish song Dame Tu Cosita. She worked out how to act like aliens — the relaxed shoulder, the deep squat(深蹲)move and the surprised but naive(天真的)eyes. As many fans send them “homework” videos, their meme dances are becoming new memes themselves too.
“The nature of dance is to express and communicate. What we communicate and pass on to others is happiness and amusement,” said Lidawang.
“We’re happy to call ourselves ‘comedians’ in the world of dance,” added Asuan.

All of these might not seem like a big deal for many children but as for me, there was something different. My hands were hurt when I was about one year old. However, music gives me strength. Once I was so upset that I didn’t even want to get out of bed. Then a song came out of the TV. I got up and started dancing. It helped me say to myself. “Cheer up! I can get through the hard time.”
Last year, I planned to join the high school band (乐队). My mother said it might be difficult for me to do that because of my hands. However. I believed I could do it. so I tried harder. And I made it!
