What do you think is the most important thing in our life, to keep young, to be rich or to be successful No matter what you want to be, everyone wants to be happy. However, few know how to make it. Money and success alone do not bring us happiness. Aristotle, a Greek thinker, said, “Happiness is up to ourselves.” In other words, we make our own happiness. Here are some ways to help you be happier.
First, enjoy the simple things in life. Too often, we spend so much time thinking about the future, for example, getting into college or getting a good job. In that way, we are unable to enjoy the time now. We should enjoy life’s simple happiness, such as reading a good book, listening to your favorite music, or spending time with close friends. If people have some close friends, they often live more happily and healthily.
Another way of living a happy life is to be active and have hobbies. Hobbies can help you forget your problems. Many people enjoy dancing, or playing a sport, such as swimming. You can forget about your problems by only thinking about the activity.
Finally, many people find happiness in helping others. Scientists believe that people feel good when they spend their time helping others. If you want to feel happier, do good things for someone. You can help a friend with his or her studies, go shopping to buy food for the old, or just help out around the house by washing the dishes.
36.How many ways are mentioned (被提到) to help people be happier

C.Listening to music. D.Going around the world.
39.The writer thinks that _________.
A.everyone knows how to live a happier life B.it’s wrong to spend time on work
C.hobbies take us too much time D.helping others can make us feel happy
How do you feel when you have to make a speech (演讲) in front of class Do you get really shy
Shyness means feeling nervous or scared around others. Over 80% of middle school students feel afraid to be the centre of attention. Some kids are born shy. Some become shy later because of their life experiences.
It’s OK if it takes you some time to feel yourself again when you go to a new place or meet new people. In fact, everybody gets a little shy sometimes.
Most people have red faces and talk in broken sentences when they get shy. But some become so shy that they won’t go to a restaurant because they are too nervous to order and pay the bill. Some fear to meet new people, so they hardly ever go outside. This kind of shyness can be bad for a person.
If shyness doesn’t stop you from doing anything you want to do, being shy isn’t a big problem. Some experts say shy people are quieter and cleverer because they think more and talk less. Shy people are also good at working with others because they think more for other people. Some great people in history were shy, too.
You see, being shy isn’t all bad. But remember not to let good chances pass by just because of it! If you have to practice your spoken English, just do it! Don’t be afraid.
