参考范文
1.例文:
My favourite story
I love reading and I have read many books. My favourite story is The Three Little Pigs.
There were three little pigs in the story. They built their own houses. The first pig built a straw house. The second pig built a house with wood. The third pig built a brick house. Then a wolf hit the straw house and the wooden house. But he couldn’t break down the brick house because it was too strong.
This is my favourite story because it is interesting and it teaches us to be hard-working.
2.例文
Dear Sally,
I’m glad that you are interested in traditional Chinese stories. Today I’ll tell a story about a tiger and a fox.
Once upon a time, a tiger caught a fox and wanted to eat him. But the clever fox told the tiger that he was the leader of all the animals. It would be terrible if the tiger ate him. The tiger didn’t believe him. The fox asked the tiger to follow him to the forest and see if the other animals were afraid of the fox. The animals all ran away as soon as they saw the tiger. The tiger thought they were afraid of the fox, so he let him go.
What do you think of the story I’m looking forward to hearing from you.
Yours,
Yang Miao
3.例文:
The Story of Yu Gong
Once upon a time, there was an old man called Yu Gong. Although he was almost 90, he decided to move the mountains. A “clever” man called Zhi Sou said, “You are too old to move the mountains.” Yu Gong said, “If I die, my sons will still do this. And if my sons die, my grandsons will continue doing this.” Then a god was moved by Yu Gong. So he sent two gods to help him. From the story, I learned that anything is possible if we work hard!
4.例文:
Today I’ll tell you a famous Chinese story named Cao Chong Weighed an Elephant. Here it goes.
One day, Sun Quan sent an elephant to Cao Cao. Cao Cao wondered how heavy the elephant was. Everyone said that they couldn’t weigh the elephant unless they killed it. Soon Cao Cao’s son Cao Chong told people to lead the elephant to a boat and mark the water level on the boat. Then they took away the elephant. Next, they kept putting stones into the boat until the water reached the marked level. Finally, Cao Chong said, “After we weigh the stones, we will know how heavy the elephant is.” How clever he was!

Once upon a time, a tiger caught a fox in the forest and wanted to eat him. But the fox told the tiger that he was sent to be the leader of all the animals. 6.例文:
Dear Jim,
I am happy to know you are learning about Chinese culture. The story “Sai Weng Lost His Horse” is also called “A Blessing in disguise”.
Once upon a time, there lived an old man. Later, he was called “Sai Weng”. One day, his horse ran away. People came to comfort him. The old man said: “It may be a good thing!” After a few months, the horse led several horses back. When the old man’s son rode a horse, he fell off and broke his leg. Many people felt bad for the old man. But he said it might be a good thing. After a year, a war happened. All the young men took up arms to fight. Most of them died. But his son didn’t go because of his broken leg.
The story tells us every coin has two sides. No matter what you meet is “blessing” or “disaster”, you should keep a happy mind.
Yours,
Li Mei
7.例文:
The Famous Rabbit-Tortoise Race
We all know that the rabbit lost the first race against the tortoise. After that, the rabbit decided to have a second race. This time he didn’t sleep and won because he was good at running.
However, the tortoise didn’t give up. He had a third race with the rabbit. There was a river on the way. The tortoise swam across it quickly and won.
The story does not end here. In the last race, they took turns to put each other on the back and reached the finishing line together.
From the story, I have learned that with teamwork all of us can be successful.
