Despite being a sports journalist with a successful career ahead of him, Mitch Albom feels that there is something missing from his life. This all changes when he is reunited with his favourite college professor, Morrie Schwartz. On discovering that Morrie is being weakened by a severe illness, Mitch starts visiting him at his house on Tuesdays. The weekly conversations between Mitch and Morrie result in a series of lessons on the meaning of life and how best to live it.
Tuesdays with Morrie is an autobiographical nonfiction written by Mitch Albom.
Professor Morrie Schwatz taught Mitch every Tuesday for 14 weeks before he died.
The book has been on the bestseller lists for four years and has been translated into thirty-one languages, including Chinese.

Think & sharing
The quote means to enjoy what time you have by cherishing those whom you love. Morrie is using this line to teach Mitch to value his loved ones and pour energy into these relationships. The support the loved ones provide will become important in times of need. Without their support, a person would need to experience the hardship alone. This hardship may be too much for them, thus they may perish.
