通过本课时学习,学生能够:
1.在看、听、说的活动中,获取、梳理有关天气的内容,了解澳大利亚不同地区天气和温度情况并完成连线任务;选出爷爷和露西的当前情况、他们所在地的天气并探讨天气是否影响情绪。
2.在教师的指导下,进行角色扮演,运用目标语言谈论天气,了解人们在不同天气所做的不同事情。
3.掌握长元音的发音,提高朗读水平。

Teaching process
Step 1: Lead-in
1. The teacher greets students and asks them the weather after watching the video.
2. The teacher shows students some pictures and encourages them to say the related weather.
3. The teacher guides students to sum up how to say different weather.
4. The teacher shows students pictures of different weather in la and teaches the new words.
Step 2: Listen and match
The teacher has students listen to the weather report in
1b. Then the teacher asks students to finish 1b.
T: One of my friends lives in Australia. Listen to the
weather report and match the different parts of Australia
with the weather conditions.
Step 3: Listen and circle
1. The teacher asks students to listen to the conversation
in 1 c and answer the following questions.
· Where is Grandpa now
· What's the weather like at Grandpa's place
· What's Lucy doing
· Is the weather making Grandpa sad
The teacher guides students to listen again and circle the correct answers in 1c.

Step 4: Let's act
1. The teacher asks students to act out a phone conversation with a partner and talk about the weather near them and what people are doing.

2. The teacher invites several pairs to present in front of the class. The others vote for the best pair according to the criteria on the learning sheet.

Step 5: Listen and repeat
1. The teacher encourages students to listen to Pronunciation 1 carefully and repeat. By doing this,students can have a basic knowledge about the long
vowels. Then the teacher asks students to add one more word to each group.
2. The teacher asks students to read the chant in Pronunciation 2 and clap when they read the bold syllables. Then the teacher has students listen and repeat.
