连贯性法宝：主位推进法
在英语读后续写的学习过程中，有一种理论可以帮助我们让文章的逻辑更加连贯，内容更加流畅，它就是主述位推进理论。不过，这个理论一开始听起来可能有点复杂，别担心，接下来我们一起深入了解它，把它变成写作的得力助手。
一、理论来源
主述位推进理论并非新创，它在语言学领域早有深厚根基。最初由马泰休斯提出，他认为英语结构包含主位、述位和连位。后来，韩德礼在其功能语言学中去掉了连位。如今，在雅思写作教学等领域，该理论被广泛应用。
二、主位与述位的定义
简单来说，主位是我们话题谈论的对象，是已知的旧信息，就像对话双方都知道的背景内容，或者是根据经验能判断出的信息；述位则是讲话人针对主位要传达的新信息。这么说可能还是有点抽象，我们通过几个例子来理解。
- 中文示例：
- 主位（共识）：关于明天的考试，述位（告知新信息）：我们要好好复习。
- 主位（共识）：那部电影，述位（告知新信息）：我特别喜欢。
- 英文示例：
- 主位（共识）：The book on the desk（桌子上的书 ，双方都知道说的是哪本书 ）, 述位（告知新信息）：is very interesting（很有趣，这是新信息）.
- 主位（共识）：My friend Tom（我的朋友汤姆，双方都认识的人）, 述位（告知新信息）：got a high score in the exam（在考试中取得了高分）.
三、主述位推进的类型
主述位推进主要分为三类，其中前两类相对简单，第三类是重点。
主位同一：前后句的主语或者背景信息保持一致。比如：“He is my teacher. He is very kind. He always helps us.”（他是我的老师。他很和蔼。他总是帮助我们。）在这组句子里，“he”作为主位，在不同句子中保持一致。
述位同一：主语和背景信息不同，但后边的信息保持一致。例如：“Lily is a good student. Lucy is a good student. Tom is also a good student.”（莉莉是个好学生。露西是个好学生。汤姆也是个好学生。）这里“a good student”是述位，在各句中保持不变。
述位推进（简单线性推进）：每一句的述位（新信息），会成为下一句的主位（旧信息）。这就好比接力赛，前一棒的“信息接力棒”传递到下一棒。
- 中文示例：小明打开了书包，拿出了一本书（书是述位）。（书变主位）书是他最喜欢的故事书，里面有很多有趣的故事（故事是述位）。（故事变主位）这些故事让他沉浸其中，忘记了时间。
- 英文示例：The girl looked out of the window and saw a bird（a bird是述位）. （a bird变主位）The bird was singing beautifully, which attracted her attention（her attention是述位）. （her attention变主位）Her attention was fully on the bird, and she didn't notice her mother coming in.
四、在读后续写中的应用：线性推进（核心技能）
规则：前句述位→后句主位
口诀："后句开头抓前句尾巴"
中文范例：
海浪（主位）拍打着礁石（述位）。
礁石（新主位）在月光下泛着银光（新述位）。
银光（新主位）吸引了夜游的鱼群（新述位）。
英文对照：
The waves (Theme) crashed against the rocks (Rheme).
The rocks (Theme) glimmered with silvery light under the moon (Rheme).
The silvery light (Theme) attracted schools of nocturnal fish (Rheme).
读后续写要求我们根据给定的内容续写故事，让文章自然流畅地发展。主述位推进理论就像一个导航仪，可以帮助我们做到这一点。我们以“在公园游玩”为例：
- 中文示例：
- 开始：他们走进了公园，公园里的花五颜六色（花五颜六色是述位）。

五、常见问题与优化策略
任何理论都不是完美的，主述位推进理论也有其弊端。在使用过程中，可能会出现句子结构不自然、生硬且公式化的问题，同时还可能导致我们过于关注主位和述位，而忽略了句型和内容的丰富性。
不过，我们可以通过一些方法来解决这些问题。一方面，学习不同场景的文本发展模式和动作链，以此作为辅助，让故事发展更加自然；另一方面，把各种句型和主述位推进方法结合起来训练，这样既能保持文章的连贯性，又能让文章丰富多彩。

逻辑扩展：适时插入因果关系、对比关系
例：Although the path seemed dangerous (Theme), its breathtaking views (Rheme) motivated us to continue.

Working with Rose the next morning, I ignored the hurtful remarks thrown in my direction and did things Rose’s way as much as possible. As I worked, I silently began to surround Rose with a warm blanket of love.
Over the next few days, an amazing thing began to happen. My focus shifted from what she was doing to me and I started seeing Rose as the hurting person she was. Then her icy tension began to melt away.
Throughout the rest of the summer, we had numerous opportunities to work together. Each time, she seemed truly happy to see me. Her bitterness gave way as she started opening up. As I worked with this lonely woman, I listened to her, something no one else had done. I learned that she was burdened by elderly parents who needed her care and her own health problems.
The days slipped by quickly as I finished the last several weeks of my summer job. I soon would be returning as a full-time university student and say goodbye to Rose.

checking on me often and reassuring me that there was nothing to be embarrassed about. It was their sympathy and support that helped me so much. During the flight they kept watching over me and I suddenly had a small group of nurse, bringing blankets, food, drinks and caring and smile. I was thankful to them.
