温暖亲情类故事
写作导图
一、冲突构建:情感的张力之源
(通过情感矛盾展现亲情的珍贵性)
1. 矛盾激化
【生气冲突】
例句:My mother glanced at me. Something she never did before I had a stepfamily. "You could have picked it up," she said. "That would have been the kind thing to do."
I realized how poorly I tied the string on my skirt which was over leggings. I should have asked mom for help.
(当我意识到自己把罩裙带子系得一团糟时,真该让妈妈帮忙的。)
技巧:细节描写(skirt over leggings)具象化场景,should have done结构强化追悔莫及的心理。
二 情感发酵(2种进阶写法)
【复合修辞】
例句:Thinking about what I had done to him, regret and guilt overwhelmed me like endless tides.
(每当想起对他的所作所为,悔恨如无尽潮水将我淹没。)
亮点:比喻(tides)+ 夸张(endless)构建情感强度,现在分词前置营造沉浸感。
【动作暗示】
例句:Watching Shirley's smile fading away, Peter frowned.
I’m so sorry," he said, gently petting Jackson’s head.
("真的很抱歉,"他轻抚杰克逊的头说道。)
技法:伴随动作(petting)软化语言冲击,副词(gently)传达温柔态度。
【暖心原谅】
例句:His mother silenced him by gently putting her finger on his lips, gave a soft kiss on his forehead and walked out of the study.
Cheerful singing floating in the room, the two sisters immersed themselves in the beauty of the music.
(欢快的歌声在房间飘荡,两姐妹沉醉于音乐之美。)
亮点:独立主格(singing floating)营造环境氛围,抽象概念(beauty)具象化亲情体验。
【顿悟时刻】
例句:It was Henry's kindness that made me feel the warmth from our family. I will treasure it with all my heart.
From then on, the three chocolates rang the alarm in his heart every time he intended to lie, reminding him to be honest.
I nodded firmly, knowing a flower of kindness and friendship began to blossom in both of our hearts.
(我坚定点头,深知善意与友谊之花已在彼此心间绽放。)
技法:植物意象(flower)隐喻情感成长,进行时态(began to)暗示持续发展。

2021年6月新高考卷(母亲节的惊喜)
A MOTHER'S DAY SURPRISE
The twins were filled with excitement as they thought of the surprise they were planning for Mother's Day. How pleased and proud Mother would be when they brought her breakfast in bed. They planned to make French toast and chicken porridge. They had watched their mother in the kitchen. There was nothing to it. Jenna and Jeff knew exactly what to do.
The big day came at last. The alarm rang at 6 a.m. The pair went down the stairs quietly to the kitchen. They decided to boil the porridge first. They put some rice into a pot of water and left it to boil while they made the French toast. Jeff broke two eggs into a plate and added in some milk. Jema found the bread and put two slices into the egg mixture. Next, Jef turned on the second stove burner to heat up the frying pan. Everything was going smoothly until Jeff started frying the bread. The pan was too hot and the bread turned black within seconds. Jenna threw the burnt piece into the sink and put in the other slice of bread. This time, she turned down the fire so it cooked nicely.
Then Jeff noticed steam shooting out of the pot and the lid starting to shake. The next minute, the porridge boiled over and put out the fire. Jenna panicked. Thankfully, Jeff stayed calm and turned off the gas quickly. But the stove was a mess now. Jenna told Jef to clean it up so they could continue to cook the rest of the porridge. But Jeff's hand touched the hot burner and he gave a cry of pain. Jenna made him put his hand in cold water. Then she caught the smell of burning. Oh dear! The piece of bread in the pan had turned black as well.

【范文1】
As the twins looked around them in disappointment, their father appeared. “Don’t panic!” he handed each one a wet towel, helping them clean the mess quickly. After that, Jeff stammered out their plan, his face flushing. However, Father laughed, “Sounds great! I can teach you to cook.” At this, Jenna and Jef almost jumped to their feet, joy in eyes. Under his careful guidance, it didn’t take long before the French toast and chicken porridge were ready. Everything settled, Father left the kitchen, promising to keep their secret.
The twins carried the breakfast upstairs and woke their mother up. Meeting their smiling eyes, Mother felt confused until they presented the breakfast and said “Happy Mother’s Day”. Mother gave them a tight hug, “Unbelievable! You can cook! It’s the biggest surprise I have received.” Her face lit up with happiness. “They have known how to take care of others.” Father said in response to her excitement, winking at Jenna and Jef. They couldn’t help giggling. It was a secret only shared between them.
【范文2】
As the twins looked around them in disappointment, their father appeared. One look and he knew what they were up to. Seeing their disappointed faces, he told them to clean up the kitchen while he helped them make breakfast for Mother. The twins cheered up and did as told. Within an hour, the kitchen was cleaned, and Father had made some egg sandwiches and cooked some porridge. Then he went back to bed quietly. The twins prepared the breakfast tray and added a card they had made.
The twins carried the breakfast upstairs and woke their mother up. They hugged her and shouted, “Happy Mother’s Day, dear Mummy!” Mother hugged the twins. Her eyes widened at the sight of the breakfast. She shook Father who was pretending to sleep. He faked astonishment when he saw the breakfast. Mother bit into a sandwich and said it was the best she had ever tasted. Jeff immediately wanted to have a bite. Jenna caught her father’s eye and they smiled at each other secretly.
2017年11月浙江卷(和妈妈去旅行)
A vacation with my mother
I had an interesting childhood: It was filled with surprises and amusements, all because of my mother — loving, sweet, yet absent-minded and forgetful. One strange family trip we took when I was eleven tells a lot about her.
My two sets of grandparents lived in Colorado and North Dakota, and my parents decided to spend a few weeks driving to those states and seeing all the sights along the way. As the first day of our trip approached, David, my eight-year-old brother, and I unwillingly said good-bye to all of our friends. Who knew if we’d ever see them again Finally, the moment of our departure arrived, and we loaded suitcases, books, games, camping equipment, and a tent into the car and bravely drove off. We bravely drove off again two hours later after we’d returned home to get the purse and traveler’s checks Mom had forgotten.
David and I were always a little nervous when using gas station bathrooms if Mom was driving while Dad slept: “You stand outside the door and play lookout (放哨) while I go, and I’ll stand outside the door and play lookout while you go.” I had terrible pictures in my mind: “Honey, where are the kids ” “What ! Oh, Gosh… I thought they were being awfully quiet.” We were never actually left behind in a strange city, but we weren’t about to take any chances.
On the fourth or fifth night, we had trouble finding a hotel with a vacancy. After driving in vain for some time, Mom suddenly got a great idea: Why didn’t we find a house with a likely-looking backyard and ask if we could set up tent there David and I became nervous. To our great relief, Dad turned down the idea. Mom never could understand our objections. If a strange family showed up on her front doorstep, Mom would have been delighted. She thinks everyone in the world is as nice as she is. We finally found a vacancy in the next town.

参考范文1
The next day we remembered the brand-new tent we had brought with us. Thinking of this tent, Mom suggested that we go camping in the next village in excitement, with her eyes glittering. Considering her enthusiasm, we all agreed. When the door of our car opened, Mom stormed out instantly and urged us to put up the tent. David and I were asked to pick up some branches to build a fire. And when we came back, Dad and Mom had already lain down the grass comfortably in front of the tent, talking merrily with a local boy at our age, who kept glancing at this tent curiously. Soon we learnt that the boy in rags even didn’t have a home to live in. Of course, Mom “forgot” to take this tent with us again.
We drove through several states and saw lots of great sights along the way. And we also had a nice time living with my grandparents during that trip. But what impressed me most was that tent, which was forgotten deliberately by Mom. Though she did love going camping, she presented that poor boy with this tent out of sympathy. It was Mom that made my childhood colorful. And it was also she that showed me the true meaning of giving.
参考范2
The next day we remembered the brand-new tent we had brought with us. But then we were half an hour away from the hotel, where the tent was left behind. Dad recommended buying a new one, while Mom insisted on our going back to fetch it, saying “Forgetful people like me may lose things repeatedly, so it’s unwise to give up the tent.” Finally, we got back the tent and hit the road again. If Mom hadn’t been that absent-minded, it would have saved us the trouble of going back again and again.
We drove through several states and saw lots of great sights along the way. One day, towards evening, we found a great camping site at the foot of a high mountain. David and I helped Dad put up the tent, and Mom was busy preparing supper. When the setting sun cast an orange light over the mountains, the tent was set up and the meal was ready. Sitting around the camp fire, we talked and laughed. Every time we mentioned the funny incidents of the journey a pleasant smile would spread over Mom’s face.
参考范文3
The next day we remembered the brand-new tent we had brought with us. To our delight, Mom gave up the idea of camping in some stranger’s backyard. Instead, we found a wonderful camping site in the wild. It was a clearing in the woods by a small lake, where Dad could catch some fish for dinner. We had no trouble setting up our tent, but we were disappointed to find that Mom forgot to pack up pillows. Needless to say, we all woke up with a sore neck the next morning.
We drove through several states and saw lots of great sights along the way. It was a fantastic trip. We crossed big rivers and vast plains, climbed high mountains, and overlooked deep valleys. During the trip, Mom’s being absent-minded not only got us into much trouble, but also gave us many funny moments. But luckily, she was not so forgetful as to leave me and David behind in the gas station bathrooms. We all arrived at grandparents’ home safe and sound.
模拟演练
1.阅读下面材料,根据其内容和所给段落开头语续写两段话,使之构成一篇完整的短文。
As a young boy, I sometimes traveled the country roads with my dad. He was a rural mail carrier and on Saturdays he would ask me to go with him. Driving through the countryside was always an adventure: There were animals to see, people to visit, and chocolate cookies if you knew where to stop, and Dad did.
In the spring, Dad delivered boxes full of baby chickens, and when I was a boy it was such fun to stick your fingers through one of the holes of the boxes and let the baby birds peck (啄) on your fingers.
On Dad’s final day of work, it took him well into the evening to complete his rounds because at least one member from each fatuity was waiting at their mailbox to appreciate him for his friendship and his years of service. “Two hundred and nineteen mailboxes on my route,” he used to say, and a story at every one. One lady had no mailbox, so Dad took the mail in to her every day because she was nearly blind. He once lectured me that to bring everyone plain pleasure is his greatest pleasure, which has clung to me so far.
Mailboxes were sometimes used for things other than mail. On cold days Dad might find one of his customers waiting for him with a cup of hot chocolate. A young girl wrote letters but had no stamps, so she left a few buttons on the envelope in the mailbox; Dad paid for the stamps.
With a heavy heart, I traveled back to my hometown on the sad occasion of Dad’s death, and the mailboxes along the way reminded me of some of his stories. I thought I knew them all, but that wasn’t the case.
As I drove home, I noticed two lamp poles, one on each side of the street. When my dad was around, those poles supported wooden boxes about four feet off the ground. One box was painted green, and the other was red, and each had a long narrow hole at the top with white lettering: Santa Claus, NORTH POLE. For years children had dropped letters to Santa through those holes. I was among the kids whose letters were always answered in time.
I made a turn at the corner and drove past the post office and across the railroad tracks to our house. Mom and I were sitting at the kitchen table when I heard footsteps. There, at the door, stood Frank Townsend, Dad’s postmaster and great friend for many years. Threads of silver ran through his beard and the hair. Obviously, time and sorrow for the past days ploughed deep wrinkles on his brow. Sitting down at the table, he began to tell old stories.

Paragraph 1:
At one point Frank looked at me with tears in his eyes as if recalling something.

Paragraph 2:
Thinking of my father’s philosophy of pleasure, I resolved to be this year’s Santa Claus.

【参考范文】
At one point Frank looked at me with tears in his eyes as if recalling something. Hardly had the words telling my father was genuinely the Santa Claus escaped from his trembling lips when my emphasizing look changed into an astonished one. Recalling every letter answered in time, I was choked with gratitude, my eyes moistened with tears. Flakes were still whirling while a sparkle of light zigzagged across the sky, casting warmth onto my heart. Frank’s stories went on and notably conveyed in his tone was pursuit for the gone era. “Your father always considered others’ pleasure as his own,” Frank’s remark occurred to me like a clap of thunder, planting a seed of dedication rooted in my heart.
Thinking of my father’s philosophy of pleasure, I resolved to be this year’s Santa Claus. Enduring the needle-like wind howling ruthlessly, I made my way to the lamp poles, carefully fumbling for the old letters. Mature as the previous kids were now, I still put pen to paper to respond the innocence with the signature of Santa Claus. When I brought every letter to every original address, the owners’ eyebrows lifted high but then soothed as I explained to them. Spotting the pleased looks on their faces, I felt a surge of warmth circulating through my body. After waving them farewell, I slackened my steps in the snow and wandered around the familiar road, lost in thought of the past golden days that would never fade away.

2.阅读下面材料,根据其内容和所给段落开头语续写两段,使之构成一篇完整的短文。
School was over, the day was fading and it started to rain. I stood at the school gate, with a loaded backpack on my shoulders. It was Friday again—a weekend of joy with unlimited sleeping hours and dinner courses specially made to my taste. I waved goodbye to my friends as they jumped into their fathers’ warm and comfortable cars. Curiously, this gave rise to a disturbing feeling in me. It was not exactly what they called jealousy (嫉妒), but something like depression. I knew all I could expect was an old bike Mom would ride along on, with the badly-oiled chain creaking against the wheel to announce her arrival.
Every Friday when Mom came to pick me up, it was a moment full of great expectation and great unease. I always felt my face burning as we rode our way in and out of the cars and saw my friends’ faces sticking out of the car windows. It was like stepping into a ballroom with beautifully dressed ladies and finding yourself in a smelly T-shirt.
To tell you the truth, Mom is quite a headache occasionally. She looks like a homely middle-aged housewife. She knits (编织) most of my sweaters, chiefly in old styles. Whenever caught by some curious classmates asking what brand my sweaters are, I’d force a smile and reply in a half-joking manner: homemade. She simply doesn’t seem to understand what’s in fashion; Chanel or Gucci means nothing to her.
I couldn’t remember when I started to find her such an embarrassment. As a little boy, I relied on her so much. She had been working at home, cooking in the kitchen, knitting by the lamp, or riding across town to buy me a book I badly needed. It had always been fun riding with her. I had enjoyed watching our shadows growing longer and shorter in an alternate fashion by the light of the streetlamps along the road. Just now there seemed to be something standing between us, something that made her so strange to me and me to her.

________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________【参考范文】
Today Mom showed up in a raincoat. Once she saw me, Mom called my name excitedly. Almost everybody present looked in her direction. I swallowed hard and fixed my stare on the middle of the road, sweat forming in tiny droplets on my forehead. When she tried to cover me with the back of her raincoat, I simply threw it aside. In silence, I shot her a blaming glance and threw my backpack heavily into the front basket of the bike. Without a single word, I jumped onto the backseat.
Mom tried to cover me with the raincoat again as a storm set in. Reluctantly, I pulled it over. With the wind roaring angrily and the raincoat dancing, it felt warm and secure inside. Mom bent forward and pedaled with all her strength, her waist twitching with tension. I started to feel guilty of my coldness, tears welling up in my eyes. Quietly, I slipped my hands around Mom’s waist and gently pressed my face against her back. In the crying wind and pouring rain, I found myself hugging my mother, tighter than ever.

Todd was lying on the family room floor doing math homework, when he heard his mother, back from her shift at the Crafts Cottage. She was later than usual, so she must have stopped on the way home to get groceries after her work. Todd hoped so. Groceries were one of life’s good things. It was getting late, and Todd felt a bit hungry. As a matter of fact, he could hear his stomach growling. He only had some cereal for breakfast this morning. If only he could have a bite at his favorite food—the apple pie made by his mother! But it had been a while since she made desserts for them, for she had been much occupied recently.
His mother came into the family room and clicked off the TV. Todd looked at Amy, who was so lost in her book that she didn’t seem to notice their mother’s presence in the room. But their father, dozing (打瞌睡) on the couch with the remote in his hand, came awake with a guilty startle (惊吓).
“David, Todd, Amy.” Quiet voices could sound so much more threatening than shouting ones. “I need you to come into the kitchen. Now!”
Amy put her book down then, and the three of them dragged their feet into the kitchen. If they had tails, they would have been tucked (藏住) between their legs.
“Look at this place.” Todd’s mother said.
It was bad: newspapers in an untidy heap on the table, dirty dishes everywhere, an empty milk carton standing on the counter next to spilled cereal left over from breakfast, and two bags of groceries his mom had just carried in from the car.
“I want this cleaned up. I want these groceries put away. I want a decent meal represented on the table in sixty minutes. Call me when it’s ready. I’m going to be upstairs soaking in a hot tub.” Then she was gone.
Paragraph 1
Todd, Amy and their father quickly got down to work.
____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
Paragraph 2
After their discussion, they were ready to make dinner.
____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
【参考范文】
Todd, Amy and their father quickly got down to work. He started loading dirty dishes into the dishwasher, as Amy and their father took the groceries out of the paper bags and put them on the shelves and in the fridge. “How does the food pyramid work ” their father broke the silence to ask. “You are supposed to eat a lot of grains and cereals.” Todd explained, who had studied the food pyramid at school last year. Todd drew a triangle shape on a piece of paper, divided the pyramid into four equal sections and labelled each one. They talked and decided that grains, vegetables, dairy products and protein were what they need.
After their discussion, they were ready to make dinner. They chose to make curried chicken breasts with rice. Amy reminded them of vegetables, and their father suggested putting some broccoli on the side. For dairy products, they got some yogurt from the fridge. It turned out that it took plenty of time to choose the recipe, locate the ingredients, and chop the vegetables before you even started to cook. Still, in less than an hour, it was done. Larry had butterflies in his stomach. Today was the day for him to meet his girlfriend Kate’s parents. He was planning to leave them a good impression, so he was in his finest suit. On the way, he secretly recited a few jokes he picked up online the previous night. His weird behavior caught Kate’s attention.
“What are you doing, honey ” she asked. Blushing, Larry told her what he was doing. She, on the other hand, actually found his eagerness to please her family quite cute. “Well, let’s hear your jokes.” she said teasingly.
They were so immersed in their chatter and laughter that before they knew it, they had arrived at the house of Kate’s parents, who gave them a warm welcome. As an orphan, that night, Larry felt the love and warmth he had always longed for since childhood.
The next day, they drove downtown to pick their engagement ring. Everything was working out just perfectly. However, on their way home, a truck driven by a drunk driver smashed into their car, sending it flying off the roadside down a steep hill before it got stuck between several trees.
Larry struggled out of his seat to save the then unconscious Kate. As he made every effort to wake her up, the car began to slip down again. With only seconds to act, he hastily removed her seat belt and pushed her out of the car before it fell downhill again with him trapped inside.
A rescue team finally arrived and drove them to a nearby hospital. Under the doctors’ treatment, Kate woke up the next day. She was only slightly injured, but Larry remained unconscious due to severe damage done to his brain caused by the heavy impact.

She was driving with Larry’s illness notice, tears in the corner of her eyes, and she thought of everything she had with Larry. Only yesterday, they had met with her parents, and Kate came back to the hospital room and saw Larry’s eyes seem to have opened, and he raised his hand slightly to signal Kate to come closer.
Larry told Kate to leave him and find someone else. When Kate saw Larry lying on his deathbed, she made some kind of decision. She squeezed his hand and told him“I would never leave you.” Larry’s eyes were filled with joy and a touch of worry. We never know which comes first, tomorrow or accident, but Kate firmly chooses Larry. She doesn’t care about accidents or tomorrow and she only wants to believe in love. At nine years old, I went through more than the usual amount of change for a girl of my age. In the past few months, my stable and predictable life had been turned upside down when my parents lost their jobs because of the economic crisis. This set into motion a series of events, including my parents losing our beautiful Victorian home and forcing our family into a fifteen - foot pull trailer we’d previously only used for weekend camping trips.
Life in the trailer was tough. We were incredibly crowded. When Mom, Dad, my brother and I all sat on the sofa at the end of the trailer, the entire front end began to tip in our direction, forcing one of us to jump up and rush to the front. Worse still, our food was not enough.
One day, my mother sat at the small table and casually wrote a wishing list on a paper towel — all about food, while keeping an eye on the last of our food, fried chicken, on the stovetop. “We need to pray,” she said aloud. “We don’t have enough food to last the week.” Then we joined hands and asked God to offer us some food.
Then Mom left the wishing list on the table, got up and started putting the chicken on a plate for dinner. I opened the tiny door and let the smell of dinner follow me as I wandered outside to find my dad. He was working on our broken-down truck. As Dad leaned over the engine, I noticed a disheveled man walking up to our trailer.
“Can I help you, sir ” my dad asked in his friendly way.
“I’m hoping you can,” he said, “I’m hungry and was wondering if you had any food to spare.”
I looked up at Dad, knowing we didn’t have much.
“Sure!” Dad said without hesitation. He brushed off his hands and went inside, quickly returning with a fresh piece of fried chicken wrapped in a paper towel. The man’s face lit up.

The man took the wrapped food and paused for a while. Then he ate up the home - cooked food, and I happily listened to a friendly conversation between the two men. The stranger mentioned that he had some canned food that he couldn’t use because he didn’t have a can opener. Dad offered him our can opener, but the man refused, saying he’d bring the cans later. Dad said that wasn’t necessary, but the man insisted.
Actually, our family didn’t expect the man would return, so we got across the parking lot for a walk after dinner. When we returned to the trailer, we were surprised to see three brown paper bags near the door, “Well, that man said he was going to leave us some canned food...” Dad whispered, Mom and Dad brought in the bags and began to unpack them on the table. Mom’s eyes got filled with tears when she spoke of her wishing list. “This is unbelievable!” Mom said in a surprised voice. Most of the items I listed are on our table! Milk, eggs, noodles, bread...” The list went on. It was enough to get us through another week.

It’s hard to talk to dads sometimes. The roles we often expect our fathers to play—protector, provider—can make them seem impenetrable(不可理解的). That’s how it was with my dad. He came to Canada at the age of ten and settled in an immigrant community. He was never much of a talker. He rarely drank, so we didn’t get to see him loosen up after a few beers. He didn’t tell stories about himself at the dinner table or when we went for walks in the park. He was a private person and seemed to want to stay that way.
Bringing up the many questions I had about life before I was born-his early hopes and dreams, loves and heartbreaks—let alone sharing my own feelings, felt like too much for us to handle. I didn’t want to threaten the integrity(完整)of his hard shell. I had gotten used to it, and it made me feel secure.
But when my relationship and career took a hit a year ago at the same time, things had to change. I was facing serious questions about my own nature, and I wanted to know that he had faced them, too. I needed to know how he had found his way, because I felt like I had lost mine.
In a severe moment of desperation, it occurred to me that sending an email might be the key. An email can be crafted(精心制作)slowly and carefully. I could speak at a comfortable distance and give him room to adjust. He’d be up in his office—a comfortable place filled with bookshelves, dusty CD-ROMs and piles of old newspapers. I’d be at my desk in an apartment 20 minutes away.
So I wrote to him. I told him about my regrets and fears, and I asked him to answer, if he felt like it, and to share something about himself, something that would give me much-needed perspective on my life, especially on relationship and career.
Para 1: Two weeks later, his response showed up in my email box.
_________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
Para 2: I closed the email and started to cry.
_________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
【答案】Para 1: Two weeks later, his response showed up in my email box. It was a scanned three-page document. Apparently, my dad had carefully considered my message, reached back into his memory and crafted a response. In the letter, he shared his history of love, longing, self-doubt, fears and struggles in life. He also offered me some practical suggestions on how to handle my relationship and career. While reading, I got the sense that it must have been really tough for my dad to settle down in a new country at an early age. I was also impressed by the great perseverance he showed in the face of difficulty.
Para 2: I closed the email and started to cry. I cried because I wished I had opened up earlier but was grateful it wasn’t too late. I cried because in the midst of my own struggles, his letter instantly put me at ease. And I cried because in the end, it was so simple: I just had to hit “Send”. We’ve since had many exchanges. My problems haven’t been magically solved, but getting to know my dad better–and learning to love him more–has made the tough stuff more manageable and life sweeter. It’s hard to talk to dads sometimes, but I’m glad that I found a way to talk to mine.

A GIFT FOR GRANDPA
Summer vacation was coming. Jack and his brother Berlin were filled with excitement as they thought of visiting their grandparents again.
The big day came at last. After the happy family got ready, they set out for the grandparents’ eagerly. On the way, the brothers were excitedly talking about the fun they had with grandparents.
A little blue house with a tall white chimney finally appeared. Behind the property was the forest carrying their good memories with Grandpa. They arrived at the driveway, at the end of which Grandma was waiting for them joyfully.
Jack and Berlin each gave Grandma a big hug and then swept to the living room, shouting excitedly “Grandpa, we are back!”
Seeing his grandsons, Grandpa was wild with joy and tried to get up with all his strength from the chair but in vain. A helpless expression flashed on his face. Grandma explained that his health was declining rapidly and maybe couldn’t stand up on his own forever. But Grandpa declared stubbornly (倔强地), “I can!” Certainly, he was stuck in his boyish way. Mum and grandparents were happy to meet again after a long time. They sat together and chatted about what happened recently.
The brothers were soon bored with adult conversation, went out and wandered into the forest. Tall trees stretched up to the heavens with large branches crossing each other, while young ones rose straight like soldiers. Grandpa was once a great explorer full of wisdom. He could tell where the birds came from only by their calls and songs. The trees, birds, lizards, lots of bugs...How many merry moments they spent with Grandpa in the kingdom!
But now Grandpa couldn't get up. This made them worried. “We’d think out a way to cheer him up.” Jack said. “Grandpa is a bird lover, and we can catch him a bird.” Berlin suggested. “But he hates birds being caged!” Jack shook his head.
Then a bright idea came to Jack’s mind. “Why not make a cane (拐杖) out of a young tree!”

When the two brothers reached an agreement, they quickly ran back to their grandfather’s house, got the tools they needed to make the cane, and ran back to the woods. Jack said, “What kind of tree should we pick for the walking stick ” Berlin thought for a moment and said, “I think we should choose a straight tree, so no knots will scratch grandpa’s hands.” Jack nodded his head in agreement. They found a straight tree and set to work. They cut the tree down, and with a knife they took the bark off. It was a wonderful tree, which was smooth and was just of the right size. They thought grandpa would love it.
Jack and Berlin handed the cane to Grandpa. When grandpa took the cane, his hands shook with joy, thinking, “This is made by my grandsons themselves. How precious it is!” Jack said, “Grandpa, we hope this cane will help you stand up and come with us to explore the woods.” Grandpa smiled and decided to give it a try so as not to make his grandchildren disappointed. He held the cane in his right hand and the arm of his chair in his left hand. He stood up with strength on his legs. Everyone was surprised and excited to see grandpa stand up. At that moment, Jack noticed a tear coming from the corner of his grandfather’s eye.

Two months to save my girl’s life
As my feet pounded the pavement, sweat dripped down my forehead and back. “Just a little bit further,” I told myself, determined to push forward. Though I’d never been much of a runner, I had a crucial motivation to save my little girl, Bridie. Born in January 2017, she had beautiful big blue eyes. But shortly after her arrival, doctors pointed out that her head was measuring quite large. Within days, she was diagnosed with sagittal craniosynostosis. Doctors explained that she’d need surgery. They also noticed that her limbs and fingers were measuring quite short, so Bridie went through genetic testing to find out why. When the results came back, my wife and I met with the specialist. “Bridie has Mainzer-Saldino syndrome,” he said. He also revealed the rare condition would cause reinal (视网膜的) degeneration, meaning she could go blind and develop kidney (肾) disease.
So, when Bridie fell ill in 2019 with common flu, it caused a loss to her little body. Sadly, the medications she needed to help her recover weakened her kidneys even further. By December that year, her specialist revealed they were only functioning at 30 percent. “If it gets any worse, she will need to start dialysis (透析),” he admitted, adding that a transplant might be required sooner than we first thought.
It broke my heart, and I knew I had to step up to help save my girl. So I volunteered to give her one of my kidneys right away. After undergoing multiple tests, I was declared a match. But there were still several barriers I had to overcome before I had the all-clear to donate.
“You’ll have to lose 15 kilos before we consider you fit to transplant,” the specialist told me in June. He gave me two months to get into shape. At 96.5 kilos, I wasn’t overweight, but I needed to lower my BMI to be fit for the surgery.

【答案】 I was determined to do whatever it took to save my little girl. I cut back on beer and pub meals, such as fried chicken and chips, and stuck to eating healthier options, such as lean meat and vegetables instead. I also invested in a new pair of joggers and went running every day. Incredibly, by August, I had managed to lose weight and was given the all-clear to go ahead.
In November, the big day finally arrived. Wheeled into operating theatre around 8 am, my nerves were very tense. When I came to several hours later, my wife was there by my side, smiling. Thankfully, Bridie’s surgery was also believed to be a success. After two days, I was finally well enough to visit my precious daughter. I felt so good to see a smile on her face. Our brave girl had more energy with each day that passed. Seeing the smile on our beautiful Bridie’s face makes it all worthwhile.

It was six o’clock when Breanna heard her mother’s phone receive a text message as it’s at on the kitchen bench. “Mum, I bet it’s Dad!” Breanna said and jumped up from the sofa, books spilling out in front of her. She had been deciding which story her dad would read in one of his funny voices for the night. Breanna’s mum rubbed her temples (太阳穴) and sighed softly. “Honey, would you mind seeing if that’s Daddy I’ve got a bad headache but I want to start cooking a lovely meal for us to enjoy tonight.”
“Sure, mum,” Breanna skipped into the kitchen to check the phone. Her dad had been away for two whole nights working on a malfunction (故障) at his company’s warehouse that was at risk of theft. Breanna felt sure he’d been able to act like a superhero and save the day — but did it have to take so long She picked up the phone and read the message, “Just leaving now — can’t wait to see you both.” Breanna confirmed excitedly, “It’s from Daddy! He’s on his way home!”
Her mother managed a weak smile as her daughter clapped her hands with joy. It had been four months since she’d lost her job and with only one income to support the family. Her husband had taken on as many shifts and extra duties as he could to make ends meet. Times were tough and he was working long hours, but it made the time Breanna spent with her daddy even more special. “Oh, that’s wonderful news. Now let’s see what I can find to eat,” her mother rose painfully from the sofa and added.

一、冲突构建:情感的张力之源
(通过情感矛盾展现亲情的珍贵性)
1. 矛盾激化

【意象隐喻】
例句:Cheerful singing floating in the room, the two sisters immersed themselves in the beauty of the music.
