2020年7月浙江卷
阅读下面短文,根据所给情节进行续写,使之构成一个完整的故事。
One fall, my wife Elli and I had a single goal: to photograph polar bears. We were staying at a research camp outside “ the polar bear capital of the world ” — the town of Churchill in Manitoba, Canada.
Taking pictures of polar bears is amazing but also dangerous. Polar bears — like all wild animals — should be photographed from a safe distance. When I’m face to face with a polar bear, I like it to be through a camera with a telephoto lens. But sometimes, that is easier said than done. This was one of those times.
As Elli and I cooked dinner, a young male polar bear who was playing in a nearby lake sniffed, and smelled our garlic bread.
The hungry bear followed his nose to our camp, which was surrounded by a high wire fence. He pulled and bit the wire. He stood on his back legs and pushed at the wooden fence posts.
Terrified, Elli and I tried all the bear defense actions we knew. We yelled at the bear, hit pots hard, and fired blank shotgun shells into the air. Sometimes loud noises like these will scare bears off. Not this polar bear though — he just kept trying to tear down the fence with his massive paws (爪子).
I radioed the camp manager for help. He told me a helicopter was on its way, but it would be 30 minutes before it arrived. Making the best of this close encounter (相遇), I took some pictures of the bear.
Elli and I feared the fence wouldn’t last through 30 more minutes of the bear’s punishment. The camp manager suggested I use pepper spray. The spray burns the bears’ eyes, but doesn’t hurt them. So I approached our uninvited guest slowly and, through the fence, sprayed him in the face. With an angry roar (吼叫), the bear ran to the lake to wash his eyes.

One of my most memorable trips took place during the summer vacation about three years ago, when my sister, my aunt and I took a trip to Spain because we were moving. On the day of the trip, I lay in bed thinking about my friends whom I was going to leave behind and thoughts were flooding in.
When we arrived at the hire station, we seemed to have some problems with our luggage because it was too much for a taxi, so we had to book a van (厢式送货车) to take our luggage to the airport. We waited for a long period to find a perfect van that would fit our luggage.
Before leaving, I felt very bad because I was going to a different country and was going to miss all my friends and family. I was not comfortable and cried.
The journey was almost perfect at the beginning, but soon it began to rain. Because of the rain, the drivers could not see far away, which caused a huge traffic jam. I was sitting by the window with a can of Coke that I had bought in the store earlier. My aunt and sister fell asleep, and during this time. I felt bored and thought about other things that bothered me. My eyes turned to the mountain in front of us.
A bus suddenly appeared in the picture. It was very close to us. Cars sped past us without any speed limit. Beside me was a very deep lake: I wondered to myself what if something or someone fell inside it. Suddenly, a bus in front of our van stopped, and because it was raining heavily and the van was going fast, no one could see what was going to happen. Then, bang, we bumped into each other. Our van overturned, but luckily, it didn’t fall into the lake. People came to help us get out of the van because we were blocked and the driver was half-dead.
注意:1.续写词数应为150左右;
2.续写部分分为两段,每段的开头语已为你写好。

In July 2019, to celebrate his 45th birthday, Colin Dowler booked off a week from his job as a maintenance manager for the Vancouver Island Health Authority. He planned to spend two days on his own, finding a route he would eventually use to climb Mount Doggie Dowler.
His wife Jenifer didn't like the sound of her husband's latest plan. She was used to Dowler going on adventures by himself, but this time he'd boat to an unknown bay, bike an unpopulated road , hike through grizzly bear country, and camp overnights alone. There was too much room for disaster.
The night before his journey Colin packed the necessities. He filled the remaining pockets of his bag with a handheld GPS, hiking poles, his homemade sausage, and a few other essentials. Instead of his usual Swiss Army knife, he took a three-inch stainless steel pocket knife given to him by his dad.
The weather that Sunday, July 28 was nice. Colin pulled his car into the Campbell River port and quickly launched and set off in his motorboat with a mountain bike on board. About eight o'clock in the morning, he arrived at Ramsay Arm, and found a spot to tie the boat near a logging (伐木)camp where he chatted with some logging workers.
One of the workers , Vito, gave him a ride in his truck until the forest got too thick. Colin took off his bike and backpack from the truck and started his hiking and route searching. In order not to lose the way back, he marked his trail with blue ribbons (布条).
As he made his seven-kilometer marker, he came around a bend and suddenly put on the brakes—a dirty grizzly bear stood right in the middle of the narrow road, 30 meters away. Colin calculated his chances of turning around for a quick escape, but the bear could easily catch up and stop him before he picked up speed.

On my seventh birthday, I got a gift from my father, which was a book titled Guide to Reptiles and Amphibians. It was my favorite. I kept it under my pillow and read every page over and over every night enjoying the pictures of colorful animals. Some of the sakes were the most beautiful creatures I had ever seen.
Little did I know that my book would end up saving a life.
Years ago, my family moved into a new house near the woods. My father built a sandbox in our yard. The cat sometimes used the sandbox for a litter box, so my father had to put a plastic cover over it .When I wanted to build sand castles, I had to pull the cover off.
One day before dinner, I ran to the sandbox to build 8 miniature city. I pulled off the plastic cover, and there in the sandbox was a snake. It was lying very sill, all coiled up, and it was beautiful. The snake had rings of color around it. I had seen a picture just like it in my guidebook, and I remembered that it was one of the prettiest snakes in it. It said in the book that the poisonous coral snake looked very much like the harmless king snake, the only difference was in the order of the colors. 1 ran inside to get the guidebook.
“Mom! Mom! There’s a snake in the sandbox!” I yelled. “I have to find out what kind it is!”
Mom came running. “Don’t touch it, Chris! It might be poisonous!”
Dad was at work, so my mother went to get our neighbor, Mr. Cook.
“Mr. Cook!” my mother yelled across the fence, “We have a snake in the sandbox, and it might be poisonous!”
Mr. Cook was retired and lived with his wife in the house on the other side of our back fence. He came running toward the gale with a shovel and tried to kill the snake.

There was a huge pond just a few kilometers from where we stayed. Since moving into our new home in the countryside, my brother, Jim and I used to often sneak out to the pond where we would meet another friend. Mom had warned us not to get close to the pond, especially after a friend informed her that an alligator(鳄鱼) had been spotted there. We ignored her advice though.
On this particular afternoon, the three of us had fun in the pond. As evening approached, we finished swimming. Jim and Syed were unwillingly making their way towards the place where they had left their clothes. I stayed back and was bathing in the water when I suddenly became aware of ripples(涟漪) forming on the surface of the water. I raised my head and looked at the ripples. My eyes caught a motion in the water. A log, I thought. Then I saw it—its scary nose and its two mean eyes. “Jim…” I cried. Then I screamed with all my might.
Jim turned his head in my direction and immediately recognized the danger. “Get out of the water, Jeff. Hurry! It’s just behind you.”
I waded(瞠水) clumsily(笨拙地) in the water. With great effort, I reached the edge of the pond. I looked over my shoulder. Moving quickly towards me was a huge alligator. I froze. Then suddenly I felt a great pain in my leg. Meanwhile, Jim and Syed screamed and started throwing stones at the alligator and managed to distract it. The alligator went for them now. As it opened its jaws, I could see its sharp teeth. I tried to move but a pain shot through me. I was in a pool of blood. Jim and Syed were scared.

A holiday in Penang is an annual affair for my family. My parents grew up in Penang and are very fond of Penang food. In December every year, we would drive up to the island to spend three days visiting their favorite food haunts (常去的地方).
This year, we started our journey up north on a Friday morning. It took us six hours to reach our destination. We always stayed at one of the hotels in Batu Ferringhi. The beach was just a short walk from the hotel entrance and our rooms had a lovely view of the sea. We spent our first evening playing on the beach. After dinner, we returned to our rooms to play games. My parents had a rule for our holidays which was that we were to spend time doing things together. There was to be no TV and no Internet.
The next morning, we went to Bukit Bendera and then spent the rest of the afternoon in town visiting our favorite hawker stalls (小贩摊位). As we were having tea at a coffee shop, we overheard people talking about an earthquake near Sumatera, an island in Indonesia. We headed back to the hotel and then went to the beach. We took a walk along the beach, picking up seashells along the way. Looking up, I saw the sun shining brighter than I ever knew before. I saw a tree trembling in the distance as it reflected the sun’s rays. It never occurred to us that something awful would take place. Suddenly, I noticed a strange thing. The sea seemed to be leaving from the shore. I called my father to look at the curious occurrence. My father took one look and went pale. We saw a grey line in the distance moving towards the shore. It seemed to grow taller by the second.

It was a fine summer morning, perfect to be outdoors. Two sisters had been out mushroom picking, and were on their way home with heavy baskets full of mushrooms. They sang songs on the way, and played with each other.
Soon they reached a point where they had to cross a railway track. They did not think twice about crossing it since there was no train coming, and they could not hear any whistle. They slowly climbed the steep railway embankment, taking care not to drop the baskets. They were very near the track and the little sister Mary was about to cross it first when a train whistled in the distance.
Hearing the train coming, Rose the elder sister quickly ran down. She thought that the young one was following her. But as she turned back, she was shocked to see her little sister still up there crossing the track. “Come back here! Run back fast!” she shouted.
Mary seemed not to hear the whistle nor her sister’s cry as she was concentrating on stepping over the track with her little feet, and holding on to the basket. Then she tripped and fell on the track, scattering her mushrooms around.
The engine driver panicked on seeing a girl between the tracks who was on her hands and knees and he blew the horn with all his strength. Poor Mary, who was frightened by the coming danger, froze and didn’t know what to do. When Rose saw the scene, she screamed at the top of her voice for Mary’s attention. Mary noticed that her sister was not around and cried for help.
With the train drawing near, the engine driver grew extremely anxious. As hard as he could, he kept blowing the whistle and started reducing speed. Yet it was not possible for him to stop the heavy train within such a short distance.

It was last February. Noel, a 28-year-old marketing manager was heading from Iceland’s Keflavik International Airport to the capital city Reykjavik with the modern traveler’s two essentials: a dream and a GPSunit. What could go wrong
The dream had been with him since April 14, 2010 when he watched TV news report of the volcano eruption in Iceland. Dark-haired, with a youthful face and thick eyebrows, he had never travelled beyond the United States and his native Mexico. “I want to see this through my own eyes,” he thought as he watched the news on his couch.
Four months later, on a cold winter morning, he was driving from Keflavik Airport in a rented car towards a hotel in Reykjavik, excited that his one-week journey was beginning. As the pink sun rose over the ocean and shone light on the snow-covered lava rocks along the shore, he dutifully followed the commands of the GPS that came with the car, a calm female voice directing him to an address—a left here, a right there.
But after stopping on a deserted road, he got a feeling that the voice might be steering (引导) him wrong. He had been driving for nearly an hour, yet the GPS put his arrival time at around eight hours later. He entered his destination again and got the same result. Though he sensed that something was off, he made a choice to trust the machine.
The farther he drove, the fewer cars he saw. The roads became icier. He was sleepy, cold and hungry. He hadn’t set up his phone for international use, so that was no help. Another three hours passed. As his tires skidded (打滑) along a narrow mountain road that skirted a steep cliff.he knew that the device had failed him.
He was lost. He didn’t know where else to go. There was no one else on the road, and there was nothing else to do but follow the line on the screen to its mysterious end.

I was finally going to see Giant Rock with my brothers and Dad. I’d been snowshoeing before, and I liked the adventure of hiking through deep snow alongside wild-animal tracks. After putting on our snowshoes, we studied the map. Dad said, “We start here on the red trail, and then we turn left onto the purple one. That’s where Giant Rock is. Remember to stick together, guys!”
The trail ran uphill alongside a stone wall. It was easy to follow because red markers were nailed to the trees and the snow had been packed down by other hikers. Half way up the hill, we turned onto the winding purple trail. We settled into a rhythm, with Dad and everyone else in front and me in the back, crunch-crunching through the snow. The late afternoon sun felt warm, although it was already sinking lower. I saw lots of animal tracks-mostly deer, squirrel, and rabbit prints, which I recognized from my field guide.
An hour later, we topped the hill and saw the massive rock sitting alone in the forest. “It is really huge, as big as a house!” my brother Josh said, gazing up. Breathlessly standing in the rock’s giant shadow, I noticed the sun had dipped even lower.
“Let’s head back,” Dad said.
I was a little behind the group when I noticed a set of animal tracks I didn’t recognize. They were hard to see among the snowshoe prints, so I followed them off the trail for a closer look. There were no claw marks, which meant they didn’t belong to a dog or a fox. Instead, they looked like tiny handprints and footprints. “Must be a raccoon (浣熊),” I thought, matching them to prints in my guide.
I looked up when I suddenly realized how quiet it had gotten. I was totally alone. “Hey!” I shouted. “Where is everyone ” nothing. Just the sound of my own breathing. “They couldn’t have gone far. I’ll catch up to them if I hurry,” I thought, stepping back onto the trail. The light had grown darker by the second. Without flashlight and phone, I began running.

One day, my brother and I were coming back from the islands where we often risked going and got more fish than others. All at once, the sky was covered with dark clouds and in less than a minute we were in a terrible storm. A huge wave covered our boat and we nearly fell into the sea. My brother put his mouth close to my ear and cried out “Moskoe-strom!” The moment I heard the word I became very frightened. I knew what he meant by that one word well enough.
With the wind and waves, we were going in the direction of the whirlpool (漩涡). We were hopeless. Nothing could save us. I felt sick, as if I was falling from a mountain top in a dream. We went round and round, nearer and nearer to the horrible edge of the whirlpool. It may appear strange, but at that moment, when we were on the edge of the whirlpool, I felt calmer than when we were moving towards it. I began to think how amazing a thing it was to die in such a way, and how wonderful it was to see the power of nature. Suddenly, we went over the edge. I thought my life was over. But moment after moment passed, and I was still safe.
The boat was on the inside of the huge whirlpool and we were going round in circles at great speed. I saw clearly that there were other objects in the whirlpool—trees and barrels (水桶). After a while, I became curious about the whirlpool itself. I then made three important observations. The first, the larger the bodies were, the more rapidly they fell; the second, between two objects of equal extent, round objects fell down less rapidly; and the third, between two objects of the same size, objects shaped like a tube fell down more slowly. So I tied myself to a barrel to help me float. I tried to make my brother understand, but he was too frightened and stayed in the boat. Without waiting, I jumped into the sea to try and escape.

It was an unusually hot day. Exhausted after football practice, I headed for the bus stop to wait for Bus 112 which would take me home. I was beginning to drift off to sleep when I saw the bus arriving. The sun was in my eyes and that was probably the reason why I got onto Bus 113
I was glad to get a seat. Within minutes, I was sting against the window, fast asleep. When I opened my eyes, it was dark outside. I was the only passenger left on the bus. I could not recognize the part of town we were passing through. I pressed the bell and the bus stopped. I planned to hop across the road and catch a bus going the opposite direction. However, I found myself on a quiet street with a row of shops that were all closed. I kicked myself for not asking the driver for directions.
As I was wondering what to do, a motorcycle came down the road. The rider looked at me as he passed and then stopped a short distance away. I went to him and asked him how to get back to the City Square. He smiled and nodded. He patted the back seat and said that he would send me home. Without a second thought, I climbed up behind the rider. He turned the motorcycle around and headed in the direction I wanted. We travelled for about 15 minutes and the surroundings still looked unfamiliar to me. The rider made a few turns and I knew I was hopelessly lost. I asked him where we were going, He did not answer but increased his speed. Alarm bells started to ring in my head.
I tapped the man, shoulder and told him to stop. He leaned forward and went at high speed now. Then he slowed down to turn into a dark and narrow road that led into an oil palm plantation. I had had enough.

It’s a beautiful sunny day. The Bonds boarded their boat for a carefree day trip to Dove Island for some fishing as a family custom. Thomas Bond, a 30-year-old construction worker, loved the sport, especially catching bass (鲈鱼) and had impressed on his oldest daughter, Lizzy, a love of the outdoors, teaching her how to bait (下诱饵) a hook and cast a line and brave the waves.
The family spent the day fishing in the vast ocean, and then left the island in the early evening. Upon setting off from the shore, they found thick fog rolling in. Lizzy fell into a light sleep beside her five-year-old sister, Molly, at a table on the boat’s lower deck (甲板). Their father’s sharp orders woke her up: “Get out of the boat. The boat’s sinking!” Lizzy pushed her sister into the cold, dark water. Both girls wore life jackets. The adults did not. The girls were followed by their mother, Petra Bond, who was expecting a baby at that time. Within seconds, the boat was damaged and was left just the tip of its bow in the air.
Looking into the faces of her father, mother, and sister, Lizzy wasn’t frightened. After some time, her father told them he would swim for help. “I’ll be back,” he said before disappearing into the darkness.
“Dad is like the superhero to me. I believe he will get help to rescue us,” Lizzy said to herself. After some time, her mother became quiet and stopped swimming. Lizzy wrapped a rope around her mother’s chest and tied her to the boat so she wouldn’t float away. Then her sister fell quiet too and she stayed beside her.
To keep herself awake, Lizzy daydreamed about what they would do after they were rescued. They would stay in a hotel, order room service, and lie comfortably under the blankets in bed, cozy and warm.

高考真题演练

One possible version:
Para 1:
A few minutes later, the bear headed back to our camp. Then we realized that the spray had only angered him even more, for he seemed much fiercer this time and violently pushed the fence like mad. My heart raced wildly, not knowing what to do. At this critical moment, Elli grabbed several pieces of garlic bread and threw them over the fence. It worked! The bear stopped the attack and ran to the bread. But it wasn’t long before he ate up all the bread and came back again.
Para 2:
At that very moment, the helicopter arrived. “Thank goodness we are saved!” Elli cried out. Once the helicopter landed, we got onto it in no time, excited and relieved. When we were safe on the helicopter up in the air, I was amazed to spot that the bear had finally torn down the fence and ran towards the food we left behind. I quickly took out the camera and photographed the rare scene — we were robbed by a polar bear!

2.续写部分分为两段,每段的开头语已为你写好。

We struggled to get out of the van and everything we had was gone. Everything was very strange. I had never had that kind of experience before. It was like watching a horror movie. Some people who were also in the accident started crying, looking for their children, tears beginning to increase. My leg was badly injured. My aunt was calling to seek some help, and my sister was full of injury. It almost seemed that the tragedy was never going to end.
I was losing a lot of blood and then the emergency aid came. They took us to hospital where we were treated. We had to pay for some fees, but we had no money. The doctors and nurses who were present learned of our condition and paid for us. Although we had experienced a bad accident, we were all lucky to have received help from those warm-hearted people. After that we went on with our journey and reached our destination successfully at last.

He stabbed the bear’s neck as fast and strong as possible. The bear roared with pain and ran away. Losing much blood, Colin lost his consciousness afterwards.
Paragraph 2:
After what seemed like hours, Colin came to himself. He found himself surrounded by the logging workers in the camp. He was being cared for by a doctor. It was Vito who saved Colin. When he drove back, he spotted the bleeding bear and sensed that something terrible must have happened. With the blue ribbons leading his way, he finally found Colin. “You are so lucky, Colin.Without being noticed, you could have been killed for loss of blood. God help those who help themselves.” said the doctor.

Luckily, in a few minutes, Jim and the two hunters arrived. One of the hunter fired a shot in the air. It had the desired effect. The alligator wound its way away in the water. Then, I passed out.
When I woke up, I found myself in a totally unfamiliar environment, a hospital. Mom stood over me. Seeing her, tears flooded down. Later I learned from my mother that I was rushed to the hospital by the kind hunters. My eyes began to water again. I made an apology to Mom. She ran her fingers on my face and wiped my tears. Mom reminded me of how fortunate I was to have escaped from the jaws of the alligator. It was a narrow escape.

My father shouted at us to run back to the hotel. He grabbed my hand and pulled me with him. As we reached the hotel gate, we heard a roaring sound behind us. Quickly, my father pushed us towards the stairs. Fear gripped us and we reached the first floor when we heard the roar of rushing water and glass breaking. My father yelled at us to keep climbing. We stopped on the fourth floor and looked down at the water below us. It had stopped rising. After some minutes, it began to drop.
We waited a long time before going downstairs. Hardly had the rushing water dropped when we saw the unrecognizable hotel gate. There was dirt and broken furniture everywhere. Some people who were caught in the water were either unconscious or burst into tears with pain. What we saw weakened our heart and we decided to help the victims after a narrow escape. Never had I had such a thrilling yet dangerous vacation before. The special trip to Penang was deeply impressed in my mind.

【答案】Para 1:
Rose wouldn’t watch the tragedy happen before her eyes. She rushed up the embankment staircase, repeating at the top of her voice “Stay off the tracks!” Mary, at the sight of Rose’s coming to her rescue, burst into tears of joy. Though reducing speed as hard as it could, the train was still approaching fast. Seeing there was little time to drag her sister out of danger, Rose jumped over without a second thought and covered Mary’s body under hers.
Para 2:
The train rolled over and finally stopped. Frightened and worried, the engine driver quickened his pace to see what happened to the little girl. To his great relief, the sisters lied between the rails safe and sound. What a narrow escape! He helped them sit up and comforted them. The two sisters hugged and kissed each other, tears of joy flowing down their cheeks. Never were the two souls so happily united at that moment. They then collected all the remaining mushrooms and, hand in hand more tightly than before, walked back home.

Paragraph 1

Paragraph 2:

【答案】Paragraph 1:
The directions ended at a small blue house in a tiny town. Noel parked his car and headed towards the door. An old blue-eyed woman answered after the second ring. She smiled as he stammered about his hotel and handed her his reservation. “No. this isn’t the hotel you have booked. Your hotel is 380 kilometres south.” She told him in accented English with a laugh. Noel quickly figured out what happened the address was wrong with an extra “r” in it.
Paragraph 2:
Knowing what had happened, the woman offered to help him. She provided Noel a free meal and a bed so that he could get a good night’s sleep. The next day, Noel decided to drive to Reykjavik. In light of his previous experience, the woman gave him a map with the main roads and landmarks carefully marked on it in case the device went wrong again. With the help of the woman’s directions, Noel finally reached his destination. “Without her help, I wouldn’t have made it.” He was so thankful to the woman, who was just a total stranger to him.

【答案】Paragraph 1:
I came to where I could turn right or go straight. The path to the front looked familiar. But when I walked on, some scenes told me I was going the wrong way. So I reversed direction. My mind started to race. Soon it might be too dark to tell what color the markers were. And I couldn’t just follow my own footsteps because there were so many tracks from other hikers. What if I couldn’t find my way back I started tearing through the woods in a panic.
Paragraph 2:
“Stop and think,” I told myself, picturing the map again. To get to Giant Rock we had turned left onto the purple trail. To get back, I needed to do the opposite and turn right onto the red one. I struggled forward in the faint light. Then I noticed the stone wall. This had to be right. I went downhill in giant steps, and then I saw my family! I shouted as I ran toward them. “Honey Are you OK ” Dad’s voice was urgent. It seemed I had been lost for ages, and all I wanted now was a bear hug from Dad.

________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
【答案】 Some time after I left the boat, I saw my brother struggling in the sea. I tried my best to approach to him but I failed again and again. I waved and called him to tie himself to another barrel to help him float. I struggled to run away from the whirlpool and prayed the storm could stop as soon as possible.
Soon after that, the whirlpool became less wild and then the sky was clear. The wind became calmer, and the moon was shining. I was still tied to the barrel and the waves soon carried me to an area where the other fishermen were. Fortunately, a boat picked me up when I was tired out. The fishermen were very old friends, but they were unable to recognize me at first because I was in a so difficult position. To my great excitement, minutes later, another boat arrived with my brother in it. How lucky we were!

【答案】I jumped of vehicle and fell onto the ground. The man turned around and rode towards me. I swung my schoolbag at him and he lost his balance and fell off his motorcycle. Without looking back, I just ran and ran. When I dared to stop, I found that I was on a main road. Cars were passing by, I was relieved to see a taxi and waved desperately, praying that it would stop. It did. I got in and gave the driver my house address, shaking uncontrollably.
I got off the taxi and rushed into my house. I threw myself into my mum's arms and broke into tears. When my family learned what had happened, they were horrified. My parents told me that I should have just looked for a public phone and called home when I was lost. I knew I had been foolish to believe a stranger. It was a frightening experience which I hoped would never happen to me again. It's better to be safe than sorry.
