Artificial intelligence (AI) is developing faster than anyone expected. For tech enthusiasts (爱好者), the possibilities are endlessly exciting, but some people feel worried about the new technology. The NSPCC, a charity that works to keep children safe, has called on the government to do more to protect children from AI software. A report by the charity has found that children who use AI can be exposed to (容易接触) content that makes them feel upset. There were also examples of young people using it to be unkind to others. According to a survey, 78% of the UK public think the government should conduct (实施) more safety checks on generative AI software and include rules protecting children in AI-related laws.
Supporters think AI is important technology and children need to understand how it works so that they can use it when they’re older. In ICT lessons at school, pupils learn how to operate other types of software, so they should know how to use AI too. Some adults use AI at work to make certain tasks easier, such as writing an email or planning a meeting. If children were allowed to use AI, they could try using it for their schoolwork. The AI software might inspire an idea to help them get started on a piece of homework or school project. It doesn’t just have to be used for school or work-related reasons. In a 2024 report by Ofcom, a group overseeing the UK’ s communication services, about Internet usage, 63% of eight to 15-year-olds reported using generative AI tools “for fun”.
While there are some problems that should be considered, generative AI is still quite a new technology and it’s being updated all the time. It’s better to keep children away from it for now. This will give adults the chance to prove that it’s safe to use and for the government to put tighter rules in place. Besides, AI can expose children to content that makes them or another child upset or worried. It’s a very powerful tool and they shouldn’t be allowed to use it. The software isn’t perfect and it can give users wrong information. A study last year by Purdue University in the US found that ChatGPT gave wrong information 52% of the time when answering computer programming questions. The programmers involved in the study didn’t notice the wrong answers 39% of the time.
So, considering the benefits AI can bring to children’s learning and creativity, as well as the potential risks such as exposure to harmful content and misinformation, what do you think Should children be allowed to use AI
34.How may AI make children feel, according to the NSPCC report
35.What do most of the UK public suggest the government do
36.Why is the study by Purdue University introduced
37.Do you think children should be allowed to use AI Why or why not (Please give two reasons.)
【答案】34.Upset or worried. 35.Conduct more safety checks on generative AI software and include rules protecting children in AI-related laws. 36.To show that AI can provide wrong information, which users might not notice. 37.Yes, children should be allowed to use AI. Because AI can enhance learning by providing personalized tutoring and creative inspiration for school projects (e. g., generating ideas for essays or science experiments). Besides, early exposure helps children develop digital literacy skills essential for future careers in a technology-driven world. /No, children should not be allowed to use AI. Because AI may expose children to inappropriate or upsetting material, as reported by the NSPCC study. Besides, tools like ChatGPT can provide incorrect answers (52% error rate in Purdue University’s study), which could mislead young learners.
【导语】本文主要讨论了人工智能的优劣势及政府对AI软件安全性能的建议。

September is a big month for students in China since the new term begins from now on. In ancient China, the school entrance ceremony (入学典礼) was one of the most important ceremonies.
Children began school between the ages of 4~7 in ancient China. Since there was no certain time to begin a new term at that time, the most important thing for parents was to choose a lucky day for their children to enter school. Next, parents would prepare some school things for their children, including desks, chairs and four treasures of the study.
In ancient times, teachers were usually very knowledgeable local persons. Parents would prepare many gifts, and then write a letter of invitation to ask a knowledgeable man to be their children’s teacher.
On the day their children entered school, parents would take them to take part in the First Writing Ceremony. Before that, children would kowtow (叩头) to the statue of Confucius nine times and then to their teacher three times in order to show their deep respect. During the ceremony, the teacher would put a red point on each student’s forehead (前额) as it meant opening the wisdom eye. Children would also ring a certain bell to start a new term. After that, they could finally sit down in their seats and begin to study. The First Writing Ceremony was a very important ceremony for every student.
Every day, students would arrive at school earlier than their teacher, and kowtow to the statue of Confucius, and then go back to the seats. Usually the teacher would give every student a new name which was used for future Imperial Examination (科举考试).
Today, some schools are starting to hold an entrance ceremony like ancient schools did. Students put on traditional clothes and bow to the statue of Confucius and their teachers. This means that from this moment, they take a step in the life-long journey of learning.

“Bamboo in the Rock,” is a Chinese poem by a man named Zheng Xie, often called Zheng Banqiao. He was born in 1693. His poem paints a picture of bamboo growing strong even though it’s in a tough spot, squeezed within rocks on a mountain. No matter what difficulties the bamboo faces, like bad weather hitting it from every side, it keeps standing up straight. The bamboo is a symbol of strength and determination because it remains firm and doesn’t break under pressure.

Ne Zha 2, a Chinese animated (动画的) movie, has become a huge hit since this year’s Spring Festival. In the film, many ancient cultural treasures from Chinese history are shown in a magical way. These artifacts (史前古器物) “come to life” on the silver screen, travelling across thousands of years. Let’s take a closer look at these cool cultural details and the real historical objects that inspired them!
Seven-Colored Lotus(莲花)
In Ne Zha 2, the seven-colored lotus, a magical lotus root, is key to rebuilding Ne Zha’s and Ao Bing’s bodies. This idea comes from the real Boshan censer (香炉), a 2,000-year-old bronze burner kept at Hebei Museum. Used in the Western Han Dynasty, it’s shaped like a legendary mountain from Chinese myths.
Barrier Beasts
Fans of this film will remember the funny barrier beasts—guardian creatures. They look like real artifacts from the Sanxingdui culture. At Sichuan’s Sanxingdui Museum, you can find their real-life inspirations (灵感): gold-covered bronze heads, large masks, and eagle-shaped bells.
Tianyuan Tripod (鼎)
In Ne Zha 2, the Tianyuan Tripod is used for magic in the Jade Xu Palace (玉虚宫). Its design draws inspiration from real bronze tripods from the Shang and Zhou dynasties, with round shapes and dragon-like feet. The carvings feature mythical creatures and cloud patterns common in ancient art. Tripods were symbols of power in rituals (仪式), showing the importance of Chan sect (禅宗) in the movie.
Jade Xu Palace
When Ne Zha visits the palace, cranes (鹤) land on chiwen (鸱吻). This scene is inspired by Emperor Huizong’s Song Dynasty painting Ruihe Tu, which shows cranes flying over a palace on Lantern Festival. Dragon-shaped chiwen was roof decoration, believed to protect against evil and fire.
By adding these ancient cultural elements (元素), Ne Zha 2 not only makes the story richer and more unique but also helps young viewers connect with China’s history in a fun way. Have you ever wondered why your pocket money runs out so quickly Have you ever regretted spending your birthday money on snacks or online games when you could have saved up to buy something you really wanted instead If so, making a budget is a great way to take control of your money.
To put it simply, a budget is a plan that helps us decide how to earn (挣钱), save and spend our money. Making a budget can help you to stretch (延长使用) your money further, so it’s easier to save up for more expensive items like a computer, new trainers or a bike. It’s a good idea to make a budget now because it’ll help you manage your money better and be ready for bigger expenses in the future.
Some people don’t make a budget because they think it’s too much trouble or they don’t see the point. They feel it’s hard to keep a record of every cent, or they believe they can control their money without a plan. But without a budget, it’s easy to lose track of your spending. You might spend all your pocket money on snacks and have nothing left for the new book you want. Or you might buy lots of little things you don’t really need, instead of saving for something important.
To start making a budget, pick up a pen and paper. First, write down the money you earn. This could be your pocket money, plus anything extra that you earn for helping out with small tasks. This is your “income (收入)”. Next, write down the money you spend regularly. Maybe you buy snacks every day after school or new clothes each month. This is called your “outgoings (支出)”. When you subtract (减去) your outgoings from your income, you’ll see how much you have left over to save or spend.
It’s wise to save some of this money, especially if you would like to buy something special. Your budget will help you see how much you can afford to save each week and how long it will take to reach your goal. You might then decide to spend less on snacks so that you can save a little extra. Or think about ways that you could earn a little more so that you can reach your goal faster.
34.What is a great way to take control of your money

The Central Axis of Beijing: A Historical Treasure
The Central Axis of Beijing is a really important part of the city. It runs about 7.8 kilometers right through the middle of Beijing. This long line is like a thread (线) that connects many famous and important places in the city, showing us the long history of China and great building skills of Chinese people.
The story of the Central Axis starts from the Yuan Dynasty, around 700 years ago. At that time, the city was planned carefully around this axis. People built the city according to old Chinese ideas about the world and how things should be in order. The axis was the center, just like the middle of a big family, showing the power and importance of the emperor.
The Forbidden City is a very famous part on the Central Axis. It was the home of emperors a long time ago. There are many big palaces in the Forbidden City, all were built in a balanced way along the axis. The biggest one, the Hall of Supreme Harmony, is right in the middle. Its big size and beautiful look tell us how great the old Chinese building skills were.
Going south along the axis, you’ll find Tiananmen Square. It’s a huge open place. Tiananmen, the big gate, is at the north end of the square. It’s not only a beautiful old building but also a very important symbol of modern China. The Monument to the People’s Heroes and the Great Hall of the People are also on the axis. They remind us of the history of China and how the country is moving forward.
The Temple of Heaven is another special place on the axis. The round buildings there are very different from the square walls around them. This shows the old Chinese idea that the sky is round and the earth is square.
At the north end of the axis are the Drum Tower and the Bell Tower. In the past, people used the sounds of the drums and bells in these towers to tell the time. Even today, they stand there, telling us stories of old Beijing.
Nowadays, the Central Axis is still very important. It’s like a bridge between the past and the present. Many tourists from all over the world come to visit it every year. The Chinese government is working hard to keep it in good shape so that we can always remember our great history.

The highly expected 2025 Spring Festival Gala took place on the evening of January 28th, catching audience’s attention with a mix of cultural heritage and the latest technology.
Among the evening’s outstanding performances was the impressive robot dance “Yang BOT”. The robots were 180 cm tall, dressed in eye—catching jackets. Sixteen humanoid robots (人形机器人) performed a perfectly synchronized (同步的) Yange dance along with 16 human dancers.
One of the most brilliant moments came when the robots skillfully held handkerchiefs, a key feature of Yange dance. They made the handkerchiefs spin and fly through the air, creating a visual feast (视觉盛宴) that combines tradition and technology.
At the heart of this technological wonder is the humanoid robot H1 developed by Unitree. Unitree Robotics is a Chinese company famous for the development and production of modern robots. H1 is Unitree’s first humanoid robot, which first appeared in August 2023. The robot is very flexible and is able to perform complex movements.
The Unitree H1 robots can make different movements because of their smart AI technology. The robots can also “listen” to music and dance to the beat. What’s more, these robots use special 3 D laser (激光) technology to find where they are on the stage. However, the batteries of the robots can only last 2 hours now.
After the performance, a lot of people wanted to buy them. A sales manager from Unitree said that they received many calls from people who wanted the robots for different uses, like serving food in restaurants, or working in factories. In the near future, the robots may appear in a lot of places and every family may be able to afford one.
34.What did the robots in “Yang BOT” look like

AI—Are We Really in Control
Recently, I started using an AI writing tool to help me improve my writing. At first, I was amazed. I could just write a few words, and the tool would quickly produce an organized paragraph. It saved me time and even made me feel more productive. Like many people, I began to depend on it more and more—for schoolwork, for writing emails, even for simple text messages.
But last week, I was asked to write something personal—a piece about what kindness means to me. I gave the AI a clear instruction, and it returned a well-organized article. The grammar was perfect, the logic (逻辑) was smooth, but something didn’t feel right. I read the text again and again, and I realized why: it didn’t sound like me. It didn’t show any real emotion. It was as if a smart machine had spoken for me, not with me.
That moment made me think. Isn’t the point of writing—or any kind of expression—to share our thoughts and feelings in an honest way Yes, AI is powerful. It can help us organize ideas, fix our grammar, and even inspire us. But we need to rethink whether our writing abilities are actually improved during the process. If we use it too much, we risk losing something important: our voice and our connection to the words we write.
Just like we shouldn’t exercise only to aim for numbers, we shouldn’t write only to aim for speed or perfection. True expression comes from the heart, not from code (代码). Sometimes the “mistakes” in our writing—a strange comparison, an unexpected word, a break in the middle of a sentence—are what make it truly ours and help others connect with us on a deeper level.
AI is a great tool when used wisely. But don’t let it take over your thoughts. Use it to support your ideas. Also, don’t feel pressured to make everything sound perfect. What counts more is that your words express you. After all, the most valuable part of any creation is you—your thoughts, your feelings, your story, and your voice.
34.What did the writer start to use to improve writing recently
35.How did the writer make the AI writing tool return a well-organized article
36.What does the writer think might happen if we use AI writing tools too much
37.Would you use AI tools to write or write by yourself Why (Please give at least two reasons.)
【答案】34.The writer started using an AI writing tool. 35.The writer gave the AI a clear instruction. 36.The writer thinks we might lose our personal voice and emotional connection to writing. 37.I would write by myself. First, personal writing reflects true emotions and thoughts. Second, relying less on AI helps improve my own writing skills.
【导语】本文是一篇说明文。讲述了作者使用AI写作工具的经历与反思。
34.根据“Recently, I started using an AI writing tool to help me improve my writing.”可知,作者最近开始使用AI写作工具来提升写作能力。故填The writer started using an AI writing tool.
35.根据“I gave the AI a clear instruction, and it returned a well-organized article.”可知,作者通过向AI提供清晰的指令,使其生成了一篇结构清晰的文章。故填The writer gave the AI a clear instruction.
36.根据“If we use it too much, we risk losing something important: our voice and our connection to the words we write.”可知,作者认为过度依赖AI写作工具可能导致失去个人表达风格和与文字的情感联系。故填The writer thinks we might lose our personal voice and emotional connection to writing.
37.开放性作答,言之有理即可。参考答案为I would write by myself. First, personal writing reflects true emotions and thoughts. Second, relying less on AI helps improve my own writing skills.

Why Is Tai Ji the Perfect Exercise
While it is easy to tell people to make exercise part of their daily routine, it is not so easy to tell them what to do. Some people like to run or climb mountains, but if you care for your body with less hurt, Tai Ji is the perfect exercise. Its goal is to improve strength and balance.
There are several styles of Tai Ji, but most of them start with a set of controlled movements. There are many good how-to books to get you started, or you can choose from classes offered at health clubs. Either way, you can move at your own pace.
Practitioners praise Tai Ji’s benefits, but what has attracted the attention of Western scientists lately is what Tai Ji does for the body. In many ways, researchers are just catching up to millions of people in China and Chinatowns around the rest of the world, who have already known about Tai Ji. Scientists at the Oregon Research Institute reported that Tai Ji offers the greatest benefit to older people who are healthy but relatively inactive. Studies have shown that practising Tai Ji regularly helps reduce(减少) falls among healthy old people. The next step, from a scientific point of view, is to decide whether Tai Ji can help those who are already weak.
It can take a few months for the effects of Tai Ji to kick in, but when they do they can act as a gateway to a new lifestyle. “Once people start feeling better, they often become more active in their daily life,” says Dr. Karim Khan, a sports scientist at the University of British Columbia.
Any form of exercise, of course, can do only so much. “For older people, Tai Ji will not be the end-all,” says William Haskell, an expert at Stanford University. “But a good way is to practise Tai Ji plus walking. Younger people probably need more challenges, but they can benefit from Tai Ji to reduce stress.”
The best thing about Tai Ji is that people enjoy it, so they can stick with it long enough to get some benefits. It helps when something that’s good for you is also fun.
34.According to the passage, what’s the goal of practising Tai Ji
35.What has attracted the attention of Western scientists lately
36.What’s the good way William Haskell suggests for older people
37.Do you agree with the writer’s opinion that Tai Ji is the perfect exercise Why or why not
【答案】34.The goal is to improve strength and balance. 35.It’s what Tai Ji does for the body. 36.The good way is to practise Tai Ji plus walking. 37.Yes, I do. Because younger people can benefit from Tai Ji to reduce stress.(仅供参考)

In the modern world, life is getting busier and more stressful. This makes it even more important to take care of our health. As people focus too much on work and other responsibilities, health often takes a back seat. However, maintaining (保持) good health is not just an option but a necessity. Good health is the base for a happy and successful life. Good health allows us to work better and, in turn, earn more. There are several key ways to maintain health, including a balanced diet, regular exercise, and maintaining a positive mindset.
Let’s start with diet, which is a very important part of staying healthy. What we eat every day has a big effect on our well-being. A “balanced diet” is not just a buzzword (流行语) ; it’s an important part of a healthy lifestyle. This means consuming different kinds of foods that provide the nutrients our bodies need. The specifics of what constitutes a balanced diet can vary based on individual health conditions. For example, my mother has a heart condition, necessitating a diet low in fat and salt. It’s important to understand that our bodies have limitations in processing certain foods, and overstepping these can lead to health problems. As an example, my uncle, despite having high cholesterol, failed to follow a diet suited to his condition, leading to serious health issues.
In addition to diet, setting up a routine for physical exercise is very important. Often, people mistake a busy workday for physical activity, but this is not true. Structured exercise, like swimming, not only helps in maintaining physical fitness but also in reducing stress and improving heart health. Sticking to it is key here. It’s not necessary to exercise daily, making it part of your routine regularly, like 2-3 times a week, can make a big difference. My father, for example, has a busy job, but he still walks for 30 minutes every day. This not only keeps him physically active but also helps him relax and stay mentally alert.
The third factor of maintaining good health is mental well-being. In today’s high-pressure society, managing stress and developing a positive mindset is as important as physical health. Take my aunt, for example, who works long hours in a bank and also manages family responsibilities. Her tight schedule often leads to stress and mood swings. It’s necessary to practice mental relaxation techniques (技巧) , like deep breathing or positive imagination, to deal with stress. I’ve personally experienced the benefits of this way. During my studies, when noise and distractions led to frustration, I found that focusing on positive outcomes and engaging in calming activities significantly reduced my stress levels.
In conclusion, health is a multi-faceted aspect of life that demands a balanced way. Eating nutritious food, engaging in regular physical activity, and nurturing a positive mindset are all important for maintaining good health. The more effort we put into each of these areas, the more we improve our overall well-being and happiness. Remember, health is not just about avoiding illness; it's about thriving in all aspects of life.
34.What are the key ways to maintain good health
35.What is a balanced diet
36.How should people take structured exercise
37.What do you often do to keep healthy Why do you think it healthy for you (Please give two reasons. )
【答案】34.The key ways to maintain good health are a balanced diet, regular exercise, and maintaining a positive mindset. 35.A balanced diet means consuming different kinds of foods that provide the nutrients our bodies need. 36.People should take structured exercise regularly, like 2-3 times a week, instead of exercising daily. 37.I often eat a balanced diet and do regular exercise to keep healthy. The first reason is that a balanced diet provides all the necessary nutrients my body needs, which helps me stay energetic and strong. The second reason is that regular exercise not only keeps me physically fit but also helps me reduce stress and improve my mood, making me feel happier and more confident.
【导语】本文主要讨论了在现代社会忙碌且压力大的背景下,保持健康的重要性,并介绍了保持健康的关键方式,包括均衡饮食、定期锻炼以及保持积极心态。

36.根据“Sticking to it is key here. It’s not necessary to exercise daily, making it part of your routine regularly, like 2-3 times a week, can make a big difference.”可知,人们应该定期进行有组织的锻炼,例如每周2-3次,而不是每天锻炼。故填People should take structured exercise regularly, like 2-3 times a week, instead of exercising daily.

International Mother Language Day
A language is much more than just a way of communicating. Language, and especially our mother language, is an important part of our culture. There are about 6,500 languages in the world, but did you know that a language disappears and dies every two weeks
In 1999, a special day to celebrate and protect all the languages of the world was created: International Mother Language Day. It is on 21 February. The idea for this special day came from Bangladesh, a country in South Asia, and 21 February is also the day when Bangladeshis mark the day that the Bangla language was officially accepted. Bangladeshis celebrate the day by holding competitions and singing songs.
Every year, UNESCO (联合国教科文组织) chooses a different theme (主题) and holds different events. For example, in 2005, there was a focus on Braille and sign languages, and in 2017, a focus on how multilingual (多语言的) education could help the world to have a better future. Many countries have also set up special projects to mark this day. For example, in 2014, the Indian government provided digital (数字的) learning materials for schools and colleges in the 22 most widely spoken Indian languages. It is said that there are around 750 languages in India, and, sadly, that around 250 more languages have been lost in the last 50 years.
The Director General of UNESCO, Audrey Azouley, pointed out in a recent speech on International Mother Language Day that mother languages “shape millions of developing young minds”. She believes that children learn best in their mother language, and that it is important that children should have this opportunity. Around the world, 40% of the population can’t be able to learn in a language they can understand or speak.
At least 43% of all languages are at risk, and fewer than 100 of the world’s languages are used in the digital world. Most Internet communication is in one of the following languages: English, Chinese, Spanish, Arabic, Portuguese, Indonesian, Malayan, Japanese, Russian and German. But everyone has the right to use their own mother language, and to keep the memories, traditions and ways of thinking that their language represents. And this is what International Mother Language Day is all about.
34.Why was International Mother Language Day created
35.When is International Mother Language Day
36.In what language do children learn best according to Audrey Azouley
37.Do you think it is necessary to have such a language day to protect International mother language Give two reasons.

A friend asked me “Why don’t Chinese go Dutch ” Going Dutch means every person in a group of diners pays for their bills themselves. As everyone knows, Westerners will go Dutch while having a meal in the restaurant. But Chinese don’t go Dutch. Chinese will pay the bill for their guests generously (慷慨的). Why does such a difference exist
The answer lies in the differences between the East and West cultures and customs.
First of all, food systems between China and western countries are different. Chinese put into practice Gather Dining System, while Westerners Individual (单独的) Dining System. Everybody can share the delicious food of the table when eating Chinese food, but Westerners just eat the food in their own plate. If you eat beef and a Westerner eats chicken, it is impossible that you taste the flavor of his chicken. The result of the Individual Dining System is that you can only eat the food in your plate.
So perhaps for many Chinese, to eat Chinese food is happier than to eat Western-style food. Being treated by your friend is equal to that you have enjoyed a delicious Chinese food for free. So you will be very glad. The friendship between the friends has been strengthened (加强) in this kind of atmosphere.
Secondly, Westerners eat for health; Chinese eat for the friendship. Westerners value individualism and independence, so they express their respect for each other’s independence through the way of going Dutch. Chinese like making friends and solidarity (团结). Chinese value the interpersonal relationships and friendship very much. There are a lot of folk sayings in China, for example “Depend on parents at home; while leaving home depends on the friend!”, “Handling affairs is easy if you have many friends!”
Third, Chinese people have a culture of treating guests. Generally speaking, the person who proposes (提议) treat will pay the bill in China. But purposes are different. For example, if you do somebody a favor, he or she will invite you to dinner in order to express thankfulness to you. Certainly, he or she will pay the bill. A Chinese businessman may treat his business partners to strengthen friendship and cooperation (合作) between two companies. In Americans’ idea, however, having a meal is to add fuel to the body for keeping health and normal life activity. That is to say, there is no any additional value.
In conclusion, for Chinese, not going Dutch is not merely a kind of folkway and custom, but it is a means, a method, a way to express emotion.
34.What does going Dutch mean
35.Which dining system does Chinese use, Gather Dining System or Individual Dining System

34.根据“Going Dutch means every person in a group of diners pays for their bills themselves.”可知,AA制是指和一群人一起吃饭,每个人自己付账单。故填Going Dutch means every person in a group of diners pays for their bills themselves.
35.根据“Chinese put into practice Gather Dining System, while Westerners Individual Dining System.” 可知,中国人采用的是合餐制。故填Gather Dining System.

37.答案不唯一,言之有理即可。参考答案为Yes, I’ d like to. First, it can show respect for each other’s independence. Second, it can avoid the trouble of calculating who pays./No, I wouldn’t. Last month, I decided to buy a second-hand bike on an online second-hand trading platform (平台). After searching online for a long time, I finally found a bike that seemed perfect. The pictures showed it in good condition, and the price was only one-third of a new one. The seller said that it had only been used a few times and had no major problems. Eagerly, I called the seller and we agreed to meet the next day for the deal.
When I met the seller, I carefully examined the bike. It looked pretty good, but had a few small scratches (划痕). However, as I took it for a short test ride, I noticed that the brakes (刹车) didn’t seem to work properly. The seller told me that it could be easily fixed. Since I was really attracted by the price and the look of the bike, I decided to buy it.
On my way home, I took the bike to a local bike shop to get it fixed properly. The repairman told me that although the brake problem wasn’t serious, it would still cost me some money to fix it. This cost made me realize that buying second-hand things might not always be as cost-effective as I thought at first.
My experience of buying a second-hand bike was a mixed one. On the positive side, it offered me the chance to own a special thing at a lower price. I got a bike that looks like no other. It was a model that was no longer in production, and I received many praises from my friends for its cool design. What’s more, I felt a sense of achievement in giving this old bike a new life and it was in line with my environmental values. However, the quality problems and unexpected additional costs were also things I had to face. This experience taught me that when buying second-hand products, it is really important to do a lot of research, check everything carefully, and be ready for any problems that might come up.

At the moment, it may be difficult to imagine, but many people believe that, by the year 2100, we will live on the planet Mars. Our own planet, Earth, is becoming more and more crowded and polluted. Luckily, we can start again and build a better world on Mars. Here is what life could be like.
First of all, transport (交通) should be much better. At present, our spaceships are too slow to carry large numbers of people to Mars—it takes a few months. However, by 2100, spaceship can travel at half the speed of light. It might take us two or three days to get to Mars!
Secondly, humans need food, water and air to live. Scientists should be able to develop plants that can be grown on Mars. These plants will produce the food and air that we need. However, can these plants produce water for us There is no answer now.
There is a problem for us to live on Mars. Mars suck (吸引) us much less than Earth does. This will be dangerous because we could easily jump too high and fly slowly away into space. To prevent this, humans on Mars have to wear special shoes to make themselves heavier.
There will probably be no school on Mars. Every student will have a computer at home which is connected to the Internet. They can study, do their homework and take exams in online schools. Each student will also have their own online teacher called “e-teacher”.
Life on Mars will be better than that on Earth in many ways. People will have more space. Living in a large building with only 10 bedrooms is highly possible. Many people believe that robots will do most of our work, so we have more time for our hobbies.
However, in some ways, life on Mars may not be better than that on Earth today. Food will not be the same—meals will probably be in the form of pills (片状物) and will not be as delicious as they are today. Also, space travel will make many people feel ill. The spaceship will travel fast but the journey to Mars will probably be very uncomfortable.
34.How long might it take us to get to Mars by spaceship by 2100
35.What can the students do in online schools on Mars
36.Why will life on Mars be better than life on Earth
37.Would you like to live on Mars Why (at least 2 reasons)

34.At what age did children begin school in ancient China
35.Why would children kowtow to the statue of Confucius and their teacher before the First Writing Ceremony
36.What did the teacher usually give to every student for the Imperial Examination
37.What do you think of the school entrance ceremony Why (Please give two reasons.)

Do you like poems What do you know about bamboo Let’s read the poem Bamboo in the Rock by Chinese poet Zheng Xie.
竹石
(郑燮)
咬定青山不放松,立根原在破岩中。
千磨万击还坚劲,任尔东西南北风。
Bamboo in the Rock
(By Zheng Xie)
Upright stands the bamboo amid green mountains steep,
Its toothlike root in broken rock is planted deep.
It’s strong and firm though struck and beaten without rest,
Careless of the wind from north or south; east or west.
(Translated by Xu Yuanchong)
“Bamboo in the Rock,” is a Chinese poem by a man named Zheng Xie, often called Zheng Banqiao. He was born in 1693. Besides being a great artist and poet, Zheng was also a government worker during a time in China called the Qing Dynasty. He didn’t like the unfair things he saw happening in the government, so he started making art and writing poems about things like bamboo, which were easy to understand but had deep meanings.
The poem is full of beautiful words about nature, but it’s also there to teach us something important just like the bamboo, people should stay strong and focused even when life is challenging. By facing hard times, we can build our inner strength, just like the strong bamboo.
Young people can learn a lot from this poem because it shows them the importance of staying strong and determined, even when things get tough. The poem reminds teenagers that tests and difficulties can help them grow even stronger. It is an inspiring message for them to remain brave during hard times and never give up, just like bamboo standing tall among the challenges.
34.What’s the name of the poem
35.Why is the bamboo a symbol of strength and determination
36.How can we build our inner strength, just like the strong bamboo
37.What do you think of bamboo and why do you think so

It turns museum artifacts into exciting, magical parts of the film, teaching audiences about traditions while entertaining them. This mix of old and new keeps Chinese legends alive for future generations!
34.What is Ne Zha 2
35.Where can you find Barrier Beasts’ inspirations
36.Why did people use dragon-shaped chiwen to decorate roofs
37.What do you think of adding ancient Chinese cultural treasures to animated films And why (Please give at least two reasons.)

35.Why is it a good idea to make a budget now
36.What will you see when you subtract your outgoings from your income

34.What does the Central Axis of Beijing show us
35.How were many big palaces built
36.Where are the Drum Tower and the Bell Tower
37.Would you like to visit the Central Axis of Beijing Why or why not (Please give two reasons.)

Yang BOT Shines at the 2025 Spring Festival Gala
34.What did the robots in “Yang BOT” look like
35.What is Unitree Robotics famous for
36.How do the robots find their positions on the stage
37.If your school is going to hold a Students’ Festival, would you like to advise your school to buy a humanoid robot Why or why not (Please give at least two reasons.)

37.What do you often do to keep healthy Why do you think it healthy for you (Please give two reasons. )

34.Where did the writer decide to buy a second-hand bike
35.What problems did the writer find about the bike
36.What did the writer do on his way home
37.Would you like to buy second-hand things Why or why not (Please give two reasons.)

The world is becoming less livable because of climate change and the loss of nature. What do you think would help you and your friends change your lifestyles and do something to make a healthier planet How can we empower young people to help protect the Earth
Education might help. For years, experts have developed environmental education programs with the goal of helping people understand the natural environment and what we can do to protect it. Many environmental education programs are developed for young people like you. You have more power to make a difference than you might think. Why You have a long future ahead of you. This means that how you choose to live now will make a big difference over the course of your life. Your lifestyle choices can even inspire (激励) your parents and grandparents’ generations.
Environmental education programs seem like a very good thing. But do they really work The short answer is yes. By searching large online databases (数据库) of scientific studies, we found that environmental education programs deeply influence people’s knowledge: Young people who take part in environmental education learn a lot about nature, the climate, and what they can do to protect the environment. We also found that environmental education has meaningful effects on attitudes: Young people feel positive about the environment and motivated (有动力的) to protect it. Finally, environmental education encourages environmental behavior: Young people who have taken part in environmental education are more likely to do things to protect the environment, such as recycling waste or taking shorter showers to save water, carrying a reusable water bottle, or turning off the lights when leaving a room.
Overall, we found the benefits of environmental education programs can be very broad (广泛的). They help young people know about, care about, and do things to protect the environment. Environmental education can be a powerful way to prepare young people for the future. It does not only help young people understand what environmental problems we face—it also encourages them to act. But still, some important questions remain. For example, what is the best way for teachers to teach environmental education Which activities (for example, learning in class or going to a camp) work best for children of different age groups There is no right answer—the most important thing is to learn from each other’s perspectives.
34.Why is the world becoming less livable
35.What is the goal of environmental education programs
36.What are the benefits of environmental education programs
37.According to the passage, what activity can you design for an environmental education program to influence young people What are the influences

A few years ago, I took a break from most social media, only keeping WhatsApp and Facebook to talk to my family.
Before this decision, I realized I wasn’t interested in many social media posts (帖子) that didn’t affect my life. I saw many pictures of people’s meals, which didn’t matter to me. There were also endless updates (更新) about what people were watching on TV or their latest shopping trips. I found myself scrolling through (滚动浏览) photos of vacations to places I had no plans to visit. These posts didn’t add anything valuable to my day, so I decided it was time to step back.
Social media can affect how we feel about ourselves. People often share only good things online, making it seem like everything is perfect. This can make us feel like we’re not doing as well as others and feel bad about our own lives. It’s okay to show our real selves and not pretend (假装) everything is perfect. .
It can be hard to unfollow someone on social media, especially if they were a close friend. It’s like ignoring (忽略) them in person. However, social media expects us to react quickly to any emotion we experience at the moment, leaving little space for reflection. Do you for even once think about why social media is free Because we are the ones being sold to advertisers. We often feel pressured to follow trends without thinking about the consequences (后果). It’s like getting stuck in a trap and struggling to get out. I’ve found it hard to disconnect from social media, especially Facebook, because of events I might miss.
It’s challenging to stay away from social media, but it’s important to find a balance and not let it control our lives.
34.What social media did the writer keep to talk to his family
35.What do people often share online
36.Why does the writer find it hard to disconnect from social media
37.Is it necessary to keep a balance between social media and your life Why or why not (Please list at least two reasons)

Stop Talking; Start Planting
Children are rarely invited to speak at the United Nations General Assembly (联合国大会). But there stood Felix Fink, a German boy. “Adults know the environmental problems and they know the solutions,” he said. “But we don’t know why there is so little action. Perhaps we have to depend on ourselves to save our future.”
At the time of this speech, Fink was already four years into his leadership of the “Plant-for-the-Planet” group. He had been calling on children around the world to help slow the Earth’s warming by reforesting the planet. Now, Fink is 26 years old and his group has planted over 14 billion trees in more than 130 nations. Tens of thousands of children have been trained to become “climate ambassadors” in their home communities.
“Plant-for-the-Planet” came out of a school project when Fink was a fourth grader. The topic was climate change. To his nine-year-old worldview, that meant a danger to his favorite animal, the polar bear. The boy began to do his research online. Instead of information about polar bears, he found stories about Wangari Maathai. The Kenyan woman had planted 30 million trees in order to fix the environment of her hometown. The effort won her the Nobel Peace Prize in 2004.
Fink realized that it was not really about saving polar bears. Instead, it was about saving humans. He made a big decision: to plant one million trees in Germany. He talked about it with his schoolmates and with his head teacher. No one expected anything to come of it, but the boy was serious about his goal. Two months later, Fink planted his first tree, a crab apple, near the entrance to his school.
The story attracted a lot of media attention in no time. Word spread quickly. By the time Fink made his speech at the UN, the young man had planted his millionth tree in Germany.
“Plant-for-the-Planet” now aims to plant one trillion trees. That’s 1,000 billion. Those trees could take in ten billion tons of carbon dioxide (二氧化碳) every year. Fink says that will buy time for the world to get serious about climate change.
34.Who was invited to speak at the United Nations General Assembly
35.Why did Fink call on children around the world in the speech
36.What is the goal of “Plant-for-the-Planet” now
37.What will you do to protect the environment Why (Please give two reasons.)

On March 2, 2022, world leaders at the 5th meeting of the United Nations Environment Assembly (UNEA) reached a historic agreement to solve the problems of plastic. They agreed that by 2024, they would create and sign a new treaty (条约) on plastics. The new treaty would create international laws that could help bring plastic waste under control.
Because plastic is useful for so many purposes, it has become a part of nearly all areas of our lives. It’s hard to look anywhere without things made of plastic. It’s reported that now 400 million tons of plastic is produced every year. By 2040, the number is expected to double. Although there’s a lot of talk about recycling, only 9% of all the plastic ever created has been recycled.
Almost all kinds of plastic are made from some kind of oil. It gives off dangerous gases (气体) when it’s produced and also when it’s burned or buried (掩埋) in the ground. Scientists say plastics are responsible for 4.5% of the world’s greenhouse gases.
Plastic doesn’t break down like natural materials, such as wood. Instead, it just breaks into smaller and smaller pieces, and finally tiny bits of plastic called microplastics. In recent years, microplastics have been found almost everywhere, from the North Pole to Antarctica, from the top of the Earth’s tallest mountain to the deepest point in the sea. They’ve even been found in the bodies of animals including humans.
The treaty is expected to cover the whole plastic “life cycle”, including making it, reusing it, recycling it, and getting rid of (处理) it. The treaty will also cover how to deal with microplastics in the oceans, on land, and in the things we eat. It is expected to lay out rules to get rid of single-use plastics as well.
Deciding on the specific rules and goals that will go in the treaty will probably be difficult. The treaty is likely to require all countries to take their own steps to meet the treaty’s goals, and offer poorer countries money to help them meet the goals.
34.How much plastic is produced every year now
35.When does plastic give off dangerous gases
36.What does the whole plastic “life cycle” include
37.What do you think of the idea of creating the new treaty on plastics Why do you think so (Give at least two reasons.)
