Remmi
语言特色:通过对话(如 2022 宁波卷 Katie 与父亲的交流)、心理描写(如 “I was wild with joy”)、
环境渲染(如 “the lively music made the room feel like a party”)传递情感。
2 / 30
“amazed by the kinds of Chinese dishes” 体现人物对中国文化的热爱。

Johnson, walked in, holding a CD player, everyone's face lit up with a smile. We knew that this wasn't going to be
another normal day, but a special one.
“Please calm down and sit,” said Mr. Johnson. “I'm glad everyone's here for the final reading test of the year.”
When everyone cried, Mr. Johnson laughed, saying it was just a joke. Then he reminded us that we still had a job to
do. “You need to clean out your desks and put all your things into your backpacks,” he added gently.
As we began our task, Mr. Johnson turned on the CD player. The lively music made the room feel like a party.
Some of us started singing along with the music, others were dancing around their desks while they were cleaning
them out. Even Mr. Johnson showed us a few dance steps, making everyone laugh heartily. After we finished
cleaning, someone asked, “When is break time ” Mr. Johnson took out some balls and started playing with them.

our surprise, Mrs. Miller couldn't help but laugh at the sight and left us to enjoy our break.
During break time, Mr. Johnson surprised us with another treat. He went to the cafe and came back with ice

When she was 14 years old, Remya Jose’s life was turned upside down by a family crisis(危机).
Remya, who lived in a small village in India, learned that her mother was ill and her father would have to
spend his time caring for her. As a result, she and her twin sister had to do most of the housework—including
washing clothes. To make things even more difficult, the Jose family couldn’t afford an electric washing machine.
Instead, the two girls would have to do the washing all by hand in the local river, and then carefully carry
everything back to their home—a task that took several hours.
Being a good student interested in engineering, Remya wanted to make a washing machine which could be
used without electricity. She started studying electric washers to learn how they worked. Remya then designed(设
计)a machine that used bicycle pedals(踏板)and chain. To find those items, she and her father went to a local auto
shop. Workers there not only gave her the parts, they helped her make the machine!
Here’s how the machine works: Remya used a cylinder (圆筒)to hold the clothes and put it in a cube(立方
体). Next, she connected the bicycle pedals and the chain to the cylinder. As Remya pushed the pedals with her
legs, the cylinder cleaned the clothes just like a regular washing machine.
Remya’s invention worked! She had created her own human-powered washing machine—and now a task that
used to take several hours took only 30 minutes. Remya’s washing machine was chosen from among 25,000 entries
as India’s best innovation! She was given India’s National Award and honored by the nation’s former president.
The story of this young woman’s creative invention spread around the world.
“Remya Jose made a difference,” said Jeanine Thomas of The Borden Project, “Her invention saves time and
money for the world’s poor. Her story shows that with creativity, one individual can improve the lives of many.”
1. What was Remya and her twin sister’s main problem
A. Their parents were too busy.

Remya’s invention worked! She had created her own human-powered washing machine”
后文:“given India’s National Award”(因发明获奖)
1.题干标注:圈出核心词(如人名、动词、时间),如 “when did Remmi make complete meals” 标注
“Remmi”“complete meals”。
(16 years
old)的句子。
3.同义匹配:将原文表述(“could cook complete meals”)与选项(“By the age of seven”)进行词汇
对比关系(如 2023 衢州卷: Tom 从 “no friends” 到 “smile at the glove” 的转变)。
就,如 “A Young Star of the Kitchen”。
A Cold Water
Rescue”
2023 丽水卷:“welding—which joins two metals
2023 杭 州 卷 :“including vegetable paella and
8 / 30
2022 宁波卷: “but this time was different: her 对比转折
结合反义词(different)推断隐含意义 dad was getting married” 中 “but” 提示转折
2023 台 州 卷 :“Grandma told me not to throw 向前寻找最近的单数 / 复数名词或动作 代词指代
them away...Kendall tried it” 中 “it” 指前文动作 描述
人物传记类:重点标注时间线(年龄、事件顺序),如 2023 杭州卷 Remmi 的成长节点;
事件叙述类:梳理 “起因→经过→结果” 结构,如 2023 绍兴卷救援事件的步骤;
错题归类:将错误分为 “定位错误”“词义误解”“过度推理” 等类型,针对性强化薄弱环节;
升语法理解;
成长类:achievements, dream, hard work, success(如 2022 金华卷);
社会类:volunteer, disabled, community, charity(如 2023 绍兴卷);

I went out for breakfast this
morning to meet a friend. It was lovely. But what wasn’t so lovely was the lady who took our order. She spoke in a
way that was impatient, unhappy, certainly not friendly and kind of rude. Working in hospitality (服务行业) myself,
I noticed it.
When it was my turn to order, I thought to myself, “What can I do here to make her day, to appreciate her, to
make her smile I had nothing.” Surely there must be something I could sincerely praise her for. Then there it was,
and I knew instantly.
It was her voice. She had the most incredibly (难以置信地) well spoken and clear voice. It was SO good.
And that was what I would praise her for. So after she took my order and gave me the same unfriendly attitude, I
told her, “I hope you don’t mind me saying so, but you have the most amazing voice. It’s so clear, well spoken and
sounds so professional.”
I told her how she honestly had one of those voices that would be perfect for voice-overs (配 音 ),
announcements or even radio. Her face lit up, she smiled (the first time I had seen her do so), and as I left and
walked away, I noticed her whole attitude change. The customer behind me received a totally different kind of
service, a better one. And it was all because of what I did. Something so simple!
There was a time when this kind of thing would embarrass me, or I would be too shy and to say such a thing.
Not now. Now I must!

One day, a teacher entered his classroom and gave his students a surprise test. He walked around the
classroom and handed out the question papers with the text facing downwards.
Once he had given them all out, he asked his students to turn the page and begin. To everyone’s surprise,
there were no questions, but just a black dot on the page. The teacher saw the expressions on everyone’s face and
said, “I want you to write what you see there. You have three minutes to finish this.” The confused students got
started on the unusual task. After three minutes, the teacher collected all the answer papers and started reading each
one of them. All of them, with no exception, described the black dot and tried to explain where it was on the paper.
After each paper had been read, the classroom was silent. The teacher began to explain, “I am not going to
grade you according to this. I just wanted to give you something to think about. No one wrote about the white part
of the paper. Everyone focused on the black dot, and the same thing happens in our lives. We have a piece of white
paper to enjoy, but we always focus on the dark dots. Our life is a gift filled with love and care. We always have
reasons to celebrate—friends that help us or jobs that support our lives.”
“However, we keep focusing only on the dark dots—the health problems, the lack of money or the bad
relationships with other people. The dark dots are really annoying, but they are small. Take your eyes away from
the black dots in your life. Enjoy each moment that life gives you.”

songs of all time. Here’s the story behind it.
The song was written by two sisters from Kentucky, Mildred and Patty Smith Hill. It was first published
under the title of “Good Morning to All” in 1893. It was used as a classroom greeting. Teachers sang it each day to

changed part of the lyrics to say, “Happy Birthday to You”, although the song still had its original title. The song
was then published several times over the next ten years, often with small changes in the lyrics.
In 1934, when the song was sung every night in a Broadway Musical, another Hill sister, Jessica, went to
court over the copyright problem of the song. She was angry about the theft of the song and the failure to pay to her
sisters. She won her case.

liked chicken and yogurt. Encouraged by the movie Yes Day, before our Colorado ski trip last December, we
agreed: we’d say yes to everything during the trip, including new foods and experiences.
We started at the airport restaurant. I tried noodles while Leo had some vegetable salad. We didn’t go back
for more, but both agreed our choices were “not bad”.
The next day, after arriving at the hotel, I took Leo to meet his snowboarding coach. While he was having
his lesson, I skied alone. On the first day, I tried easy green runs (滑道). The next day, remembering how Leo faced
his fear of heights to ride the chairlift. I challenged myself to a harder blue run. I went slowly down but felt proud
for trying.

reminded him of our promise. “The hot water felt surprisingly comfortable, and the cold air made me feel alive—
though getting out was a great pain. It became a fun, fresh experience.” Leo said.

more at home. Leo now tries foods like sushi while I’ve picked up old hobbies like painting. When we don’t want

When introducing the rules of the class,
the first words my math teacher Ms. Whitney began with were “kindness” and “homework”. Now, I can imagine
that you must be feeling what I was feeling then: Why would homework, which is already so difficult, has
something to do with anything good
As if understanding my confusion (困惑), Ms. Whitney began to explain in her gentle but authoritative (权威
的) voice, “Homework sometimes needs cooperation. When others can’t solve a problem, and you can do it, you
can help them. It provides you with the chance to grow and learn.” It was at that moment I heard a pop in my head,
a feeling as if the confusion around the two words had disappeared. Homework brings out kindness, and kindness
in turn creates an environment that encourages everyone to practice.
20 / 30
Ms. Whitney proved the truth behind those words during the following days. Every day, we were divided
into groups and made to stand next to each other, working on problems that came like a flood. The first day, I was a

uncomfortable feeling began to disappear.
In a classroom filled with friendly communication and Ms. Whitney’s happy voice calling out, “Kindness
and Homework!” whenever she saw one of us sitting alone or in need of help, math class was not as boring as it had
been before. It was hard to believe that homework problems could change the way people think. In the past, I could
only think of one way to solve a problem, but now I can think of more than two ways. Learning in Ms. Whitney’s
class has helped me find the reason to learn, which will help me for the rest of my journey abroad.

4.Which of the following will most probably happen in the rest of the writer’s journey abroad

Henry pulled his mother’s hand as they walked past the toy
store. “Mum, look! The Steel Man Action Set is finally here! Can I buy it with the money I got from Grandma for
chores ” he asked excitedly. He imagined playing with the shiny set, pretending to fight monsters.
“Henry, it costs almost all your savings,” Mum replied gently. “And remember last time Your Spider-Man
broke in two days. Let’s save for something stronger.”
“But it’s my money!” Henry crossed his arms, his voice rising. “You always say no!”
This usually happens between parents and kids in many families. Who should have the last word
For parents, they want kids to spend money wisely. They don’t want kids to waste money on toys that break
quickly. This can make kids upset. So parents have to explain patiently to let kids make better choices. They also
encourage saving for special things, like a bike or a school trip. They tell kids to think twice before shopping
instead of impulse buying.
But kids often have their own thoughts. Money from chores is theirs. They feel proud of it and want to spend
it however they like. If they can’t, they feel angry or sad.
So, what’s the solution First, parents should explain why saving money is important. Kids should also have
a chance to tell their parents why they want something. Second, it’s OK for kids to learn from mistakes. If a toy
breaks quickly, they’ll think twice next time. Lastly, parents can lead their kids to set goals and save for something
bigger or more meaningful.
Henry’s mum finally said, “You can buy the Steel Man if you save half your money first.” Henry agreed and
worked hard to save for two weeks. He then bought the set. But guess what Its arm fell off the next day! Henry
frowned. “Maybe saving money is smart,” he said to Mum, realizing that waiting for something worth the money
was the better choice.

The buses at the Uluru Sunset Viewing Area were parked in
rows. Guides set up tables with drinks and snacks.
“Ten minutes to go! Are we ready ” Our guide asked.
“Five minutes, everyone! Got your cameras ”
Then, the sun started to set.
People from different countries—America, Britain, and France—all watched as the big rock turned bright
red. Many took pictures in front of it, with different poses (姿势).
After the sun went down, we got back on the bus. The guide smiled, “That was a pretty good sunset! But I’ve
seen better ones.” Behind me, Adam, a student from England, put his earphones back in. “Well, that’s enough of
that rock,” he said.
I was tired. We woke up at five in the morning and drove over 100 miles to see the sunset at Uluru. Now, I
felt a little empty. Why was this rock so special Why did we come all this way Maybe my sons would always
remember this moment. But no, they had even missed it! They were busy eating at another tour group’s table
because they had better chips.
Nowadays, people can buy almost everything. But new things soon become old, and people get bored. So,
they start traveling to find “special experiences”. Many people buy books like 1,000 Places to See Before You Die
and mark the places they have visited.
But famous sights are never the best part of a trip. Sometimes, they feel like a duty, like visiting a boring
relative. The more I travel, the more I feel that the real beauty of a place is in small everyday details (细节), not in
famous buildings or scenery. So, throw your book away and forget about the checklist — there are surely more
than 1,000 wonders in the world.

Remya’s invention worked! She had created her own human-powered washing machine”
后文:“given India’s National Award”(因发明获奖)
1.题干标注:圈出核心词(如人名、动词、时间),如 “when did Remmi make complete meals” 标注
“Remmi”“complete meals”。
(16 years
old)的句子。
3.同义匹配:将原文表述(“could cook complete meals”)与选项(“By the age of seven”)进行词汇
对比关系(如 2023 衢州卷: Tom 从 “no friends” 到 “smile at the glove” 的转变)。
就,如 “A Young Star of the Kitchen”。
A Cold Water
Rescue”
2023 丽水卷:“welding—which joins two metals

人物传记类:重点标注时间线(年龄、事件顺序),如 2023 杭州卷 Remmi 的成长节点;
事件叙述类:梳理 “起因→经过→结果” 结构,如 2023 绍兴卷救援事件的步骤;
错题归类:将错误分为 “定位错误”“词义误解”“过度推理” 等类型,针对性强化薄弱环节;
升语法理解;

morning to meet a friend.
Not now. Now I must!
Why Because I have the power. The power to completely change someone’s day by something as simple as
a few kind words. And you have this power too. We all do.

All of them, with no exception, described the black dot and tried to explain where it was on the paper.

grade you according to this.

Do you know that the “Happy Birthday to You” song is the
first sung in outer space Apollo IX astronauts sang it on March 8, 1969. It is one of the most popular English
songs of all time. Here’s the story behind it.
The song was written by two sisters from Kentucky, Mildred and Patty Smith Hill. It was first published
under the title of “Good Morning to All” in 1893. It was used as a classroom greeting. Teachers sang it each day to
welcome their students to the classroom. The composer (作曲家), Mildred Hill, was a concert pianist. Her sister
Patty Smith Hill wrote the original lyrics for the song while she was a teacher in a kindergarten in Louisville,
Kentucky, where Mildred also taught. The Hill sisters copyrighted (获得……版权) their songs on October 16,
1893. However, it appeared without their agreement in Robert H. Coleman’s songbook on March 4, 1924. Coleman
changed part of the lyrics to say, “Happy Birthday to You”, although the song still had its original title. The song
was then published several times over the next ten years, often with small changes in the lyrics.
In 1934, when the song was sung every night in a Broadway Musical, another Hill sister, Jessica, went to
court over the copyright problem of the song. She was angry about the theft of the song and the failure to pay to her
sisters. She won her case.

Each spring brings a new blossom of wildflowers
along the highway I travel daily to work.
There is one particular blue flower that has always caught my eye. I’ve noticed that it blooms (盛开) only in
the morning hours because the afternoon sun is too warm for it. Every day for about two weeks, I see those
beautiful flowers.
Sometime in March this year, I started a wildflower garden in our yard. I can look out of the kitchen window
while doing the dishes and see the flowers. I’ve often thought that those lovely blue flowers from the road would
look great with other wildflowers in our yard. Every day I drove past the flowers thinking, “I’m getting late. I’ll

My nine-year-old son Leo was a picky eater who only
liked chicken and yogurt.
I went slowly down but felt proud
for trying.
Later, I wanted to try the outdoor hot spa pool. It was -6℃, and Leo hated being cold and wet, but I
reminded him of our promise. “The hot water felt surprisingly comfortable, and the cold air made me feel alive—
though getting out was a great pain. It became a fun, fresh experience.” Leo said.
The trip taught us that small “yes” can bring us something unexpected. Since the trip, we’ve tried saying yes
more at home. Leo now tries foods like sushi while I’ve picked up old hobbies like painting. When we don’t want
to change, we joke, “Remember Colorado ” and then start to take action.

Ms. Whitney proved the truth behind those words during the following days. Every day, we were divided
into groups and made to stand next to each other, working on problems that came like a flood. The first day, I was a
bit uncomfortable working with another person. But soon, as we talked about questions and helped each other, that
uncomfortable feeling began to disappear.

Henry pulled his mother’s hand as they walked past the toy
store. “Mum, look! The Steel Man Action Set is finally here! Can I buy it with the money I got from Grandma for
19 / 24
chores ” he asked excitedly.

C.Buying what you really want. D.Buying without careful thought.

Rafin, a 16-year-old student from Kenya, has made amazing
progress in learning Chinese. Although she has only studied the language for two years, she can speak Chinese with
great confidence.
Her journey with the Chinese language began through her eldest brother, who traveled to China in 2018 to
get a master’s degree in Chinese. When he returned in 2022, his smooth Chinese caught Rafin’s attention. “My
brother came back with a mobile phone I had never seen before, and everything he brought was made in China. I
was curious about this country that seemed to produce so much and I wanted to know more,” she says with a smile.
“So, I took Chinese language classes at my junior high school two years ago.”

In October that year, she traveled to China with her teacher. The moment she arrived, she was greeted by
friendly Chinese people. She visited famous places like the Great Wall and made friends with local students. When

So, throw your book away and forget about the checklist — there are surely more
than 1,000 wonders in the world.

grandson. She said, “Mike, I prepare to plant some vegetables here. Are you going to help me ”
“Sure, Grandma, but could you tell me why you want to plant vegetables ” said Mike.
Mrs. Jones replied, “We can eat them when they are fully grown. But it will take a few months.”
Mike had no experience of growing vegetables, so he asked in surprise, “A few months Why don’t we just
go to the store and buy some ”
“Dear, when I was your age, my parents taught me to plant vegetables. I got some life skills from the farm
