【答案】18. B 19. A 20. C
【原文】Ritchie Valens is one of the most famous American rock and roll musicians from the 1950’s. He was born in Los Angeles, California to Mexican parents. When he was little, he taught himself to play the guitar, which he played for many years later. He was originally left-handed, but taught himself to play with his right. He also learned two other instruments. In 1958, someone heard his song Donna and helped him make his first record. One song, La Bamba, became an instant hit and is still considered one of the greatest songs of all time. Sadly, on February 3rd, 1959, Ritchie Valens died in a plane crash, along with two other famous musicians, Buddy Holly and J. P. Richardson. After a concert, some of the musicians decided to fly home. Unfortunately, there was only one small plane and not everyone could fit. J. P. Richardson was given a seat because he was sick. Ritchie Valens won a game with another musician, and Buddy Holly knew the pilot. That day is now remembered as “The Day the Music Died”. Another musician named Don McLean wrote a beautiful song for them called American Pie.

When 17-year-old Lin Hao first entered his old and damaged school library in Guizhou’s mountainous area, his rough hands touched outdated encyclopedias covered in plastic from the1990s. These books still say pandas are endangered, he whispered, remembering the modern tablets his city classmates used during a school exchange. That was when he decided to bridge the gap.
Inspired by a documentary about urban book donation programs, Lin spent his summer creating a bilingual website called Books Without Borders, using Mandarin and English to connect donors with rural schools. The platform allowed donors to send secondhand books directly to under-resourced schools, complete with tracking codes to follow each book’s journey.
Initial progress was slow. By mid-September, only 23 books had been registered. Unaffected, Lin partnered with his English teacher to create video appeals featuring students sharing their reading dreams.
Lin’s persistence shone through. A breakthrough came when a viral TikTok video showed a girl in Lin’s class receiving a donated science encyclopedia. Tears streamed down her face as she whispered, “This is the first book I’ve ever owned.”
The emotional video sparked a chain reaction. By November, over 5,000 books flooded into 12 rural schools. Local newspapers called Lin the teenage librarian, while tech-companies offered free server support. During Spring Festival, Lin received handwritten letters from remote villages — one child drew a stick-figure version of him delivering books via rainbow-colored drones.
Now displayed in the provincial museum, Lin’s original website blueprint includes a heartfelt note: Knowledge should flow like rivers, not trickle (涓流) like leaks. His next project Installing solar-powered e-book stations in mountain villages. Though some doubt his plans can grow, Lin keeps working — proving that even in the mountains, determination can build bridges to the world.
24. What motivated Lin Hao to create the website
A. His need for the latest information on endangered species.
B. A documentary about urban book donation programs.
C. His English teacher’s encouragement to make videos.
D. Tech companies’ offers to support rural education.
25. What caused the sudden increase in book donations
A. Newspaper advertisements. B. A touching social media video.
C. Tech company investments. D. Government policy changes.
26. Which of the following can best describe Lin Hao
A. Confident and generous. B. Innovative and flexible.
C. Resolved and kind-hearted. D. Aggressive and optimistic.
27. What would be the best title for the passage
A. A Bilingual Website: Books Without Borders
B. A Teen’s Innovation: The Rise of Digital Reading Platforms
C. A Teenage Librarian: Fighting to Share Knowledge
D. A Phenomenon: How TikTok Transformed a Village School
【答案】24. B 25. B 26. C 27. C

When I strolled into the ring at the Pennington Day dog show’s Look-Alike Contest in suburban New Jersey in the mid-1990s, I had all the confidence of a young girl assured of victory. After all, my puppy Soccer had long, floppy ears that perfectly matched my wavy, blond hair. After winning that first contest, Soccer and I competed for about four years at the Look-Alike Contests and won a row of blue ribbons. I have not succeeded at anything as consistently since.
Turns out, there is actual science to back up the stereotype that dogs look like their owners. A recent review of 15 studies from around the globe suggests that not only people and their pets look and act similarly, but that the similarities between their personalities deepen over time.
In many of the studies, scientists asked study volunteers to match pictures of their dogs and owners, which they did better than they would just by chance. In one study, participants also inferred whether dogs were matched with the correct owners despite only being able to see the dogs’ or the owners’ eyes. Another found that women often had hair of a similar length to the dogs’ears — much like my spaniel — like bob and bangs. So what gives Experts suspect people choose dogs that look like them or reflect them in some way — or perhaps, subconsciously, as in my case, look a bit like a dog’s version of their child.
The review also showed that dogs and owners have similar personality traits and that their temperaments appeared to grow more alike. The study offers different theories for why, including that owners may be drawn to dogs that are like them to begin with, and as they age together, the two species may regulate each other’s emotions, reinforce each other’s behavior, or learn together.
Authors of the review, published in the journal Personality and Individual Differences, noted several limitations to the research, including the relatively small number of dogs and owners included in the studies. Many of the owners who volunteered to participate in the studies also had purebred dogs, and scientists need more data on mixed-breed canines, which are more common worldwide. What’s more, owner preference plays a role: Without a standardized way to assess dogs’ personalities, scientists must ask people to evaluate their own pets, who can be as hard to think about objectively as your human family.
28. Why does the author mention her own experience in paragraph 1
A. To illustrate the popularity of the Look-Alike Contest.
B. To provide a contrast to the scientific research results.
C. To introduce the topic in an engaging and personal way.
D. To emphasize the significance of winning in the contest.
29. What does the underlined phrase “So what gives ” in paragraph 3 most likely mean
A. What is the reason for this phenomenon
B. What are the consequences of this situation
C. What are the methods to solve this problem
D. What is the extent of this similarity
30. Which of the following is a limitation of the research according to the text
A. The inaccurate samples of dogs and their owners.
B. The over-reliance on the assessment of dog owners.
C. The lack of research on purebred dogs.
D. The improper use of the evaluation method.
31. What will the passage probably talk about next
A. Expanding the scope of the research to include more dog owners.
B. Analyzing the impact of different environments.
C. Conducting more studies on the subconscious choices of dog owners.
D. Developing a standardized evaluating system.
【答案】28. C 29. A 30. B 31. D

Are the best days of telemedicine already behind us We don’t think they are, although the concern is understandable given that the end of the public health emergency sunsetted many pandemic-related telemedicine regulations. But we believe that the next level of virtual care can only be reached if we bring more elements of the clinic to the patient.
At the start of the Covid-19 pandemic, amid unmatched rates of telemedicine use, some considered whether it was the beginning of a new normal — one with telemedicine as a core component of how patients receive care. The number of telemedicine visits per month has fallen substantially since its peak in April 2020 and today represents roughly 5% of all outpatient visits. Patients and physicians have largely shifted back to in-person visits, in many cases because they question the quality of care in a telemedicine visit and specifically the inability to conduct a physical exam and key tests.
The solution is to bring key aspects of the doctor’s office to the patient. An emerging industry aims to fill this gap. Already patients can use connected devices to check their blood pressure, blood sugars, and other physiological measurements at home and share them remotely with their doctor. There has also been movement to obtain this data through consumer wearables such as Apple Watches. Lab testing providers such as LabCorp and Quest offer an extensive network of “patient service centers” for sample collection outside doctor’s offices, as well as a growing display of at-home mail-in test kits. Portable diagnostic service providers can come directly to a patient’s home to take X-rays and ultrasounds or blood draws for lab tests.
These changes are only the tip of the iceberg. New technologies can even collect data that was never available in a doctor’s office. Though it sounds futuristic, increasingly many of the sickest patients have devices implanted in their body for management of their conditions. These devices are continuously recording a variety of data whose scale eclipses (使失色) anything that is collected in clinic. Researchers are working to identify novel ways to employ this wealth of data to improve chronic (慢性的) disease management.
While there is tremendous potential for this future of telemedicine, there are critical barriers that must be overcome. The future of telemedicine should be made accessible to rural populations, ethnic minorities, and other historically underserved communities. Opening this future for the patients who need it most will require new processes and institutions that enable affordable access to these devices and provide the necessary degree of “human touch” to overcome technology barriers.
32. What has led patients and physicians to largely shift back to in-person visits
A. The end of the public health emergency.
B. The sunset of pandemic-related telemedicine regulations.
C. The high cost of telemedicine visits.
D. Their doubt about the quality of telemedicine care.
33. What can be inferred from the third paragraph
A. The number of outpatient visits is on the decrease.
B. Patients should go to the doctor’s office to check blood pressure.
C. Sampling will no longer be limited to doctor’s offices.
D. It is impractical to bring key aspects of the doctor’s office to the patient.
34. What is the author’s attitude towards the future of telemedicine
A. Contradictory. B. Objective. C. Indifferent. D. Unclear.
35. What is the author’s purpose in writing the text
A. To present us how to tap the full potential of telemedicine.
B. To introduce the measurements outside the doctor’s offices.
C. To analyze a variety of data that are collected in clinic.
D. To explain why patients are not keen on telemedicine.
【答案】32. D 33. C 34. B 35. A

“Lazy Girl Jobs” Are Just Healthy Jobs
On social media platforms, the term “lazy girl job” is being used to describe jobs with a comfortable salary, reasonable benefits and 9-to-5 working hours. This trend is about flexibility, efficiency and creating healthy boundaries. Employees are working to get this message across. It boils down to the lesson the pandemic taught us: ___36___.
It’s primary that business leaders put the well-being and health of workers and their families above everything else. We have to enable employees to succeed in a more independent and self-guided way. Part of that is incorporating work into employees’ lives, not life into their work. ___37___. In reality, commitment is about output, productivity and goal completion. When employees really understand their goals and are completing them effectively, productivity thrives.
Here are four key lessons:
Output before input
___38___. Shifting to a focus on productivity promotes a more efficient and flexible work environment where employees are judged by their output. That means companies must have the right tools and processes to document goals and progress.
Healthy boundaries
Recognize that work is a part of life, not the other way around. This means flexibility in work hours, opportunities for remote work and ensuring that after-hours communications are exception.
Build trust and autonomy
One crucial aspect of this trend is empowering employees to guide their work autonomously. This autonomy translates into higher job satisfaction and performance.
___39___
Every leader is doing their best to hire smart, motivated and talented people. It’s our responsibility to ensure their well-being. Offering mental health support, promoting physical wellness and cultivating a positive work environment contribute to this goal.
The “lazy girl job” trend is not a short-lived craze. We must pay attention to what employees — especially the next generation — are saying about what work should be. Millennials and Gen Z want balance in their lives, not to be the first one in the office and the last one out. ___40___. By doing so, we foster a culture where employees feel cared for, where their lives outside of work are valued and where they can perform at their best.
A. Integrate well-being and health
B. Prioritize health over responsibility
C. Managing employees is not what it used to be
D. The “lazy girl job” trend argues for a results-driven culture
E. A common mistake leaders make is equating commitment with long hours
F. The leaders should create an environment where employees can work at ease
G. This trend encourages us to create a workplace that’s in tune with these generations and the modern world
【答案】36. C 37. E 38. D 39. A 40. G

Here are some suggestions. First, a study discussion section should be set up, where students can post questions and share learning experiences. Second, interactive features like online group activities and quizzes could be added to make the platform more engaging.
I am looking forward to a dynamic platform that enriches our school life and helps us grow both academically and socially.
Best regards,
Li Hua

I stared at the e-mail again, my hands trembling slightly. The words “award nomination (提名)” glowed on the screen, but my heart raced like a trapped bird. Bianca, my orange cat, jumped onto the desk and rubbed her head against my arm, her soft fur calming me a little. Closing the laptop, I took a deep breath and walked to the kitchen to make coffee. The morning sun painted golden stripes on the floor, and the smell of roasted beans filled the air. Outside, the Pacific Ocean waves crashed gently, a sound I’d loved for years. New York felt like another universe compared to this quiet coastal town.
Carrying my mug to the wooden deck, I sat down and watched seagulls circle above the water. A cool breeze blew my hair back, but it couldn’t ease the tightness in my chest. “New York,” I whispered to myself. Tall buildings, crowded streets, and strangers everywhere — how could I survive there I’d always avoided big cities after moving back from Toronto. My small house by the ocean was my safe harbor, where I wrote mysteries about brave detectives. Now, life was asking me to become as brave as my characters.
When Kathy arrived for our usual coffee time, her eyes were wide with excitement. “New York! This is amazing!” she shouted, almost spilling her latte. Her enthusiasm made me shrink into my chair.
“I know, but...” I sighed, playing with the handle of my mug. “Last year’s ceremony was in Seattle. I drove there, wore my old blue dress, and nobody cared if I made mistakes. New York is different. What if I get lost What if I say something stupid in front of famous writers ” My voice grew quieter. “And…what if I lose ”
Kathy reached over and patted my hand. “You’ve already won by being nominated. Thousands of writers dream of this chance.” She smiled warmly. “Remember why you started writing It wasn’t for awards. It was because you love stories.”

【答案】范文:
Her words lingered in my mind long after she left. That night, I sat at my desk, Bianca sleeping peacefully beside my keyboard. Moonlight spilled through the window, turning the ocean silver. I opened my laptop and reread the e-mail. Fear still clawed at me, but beneath it bubbled a strange hope. Maybe New York wasn’t Mars. Maybe it was just another chapter waiting to be written. I booked the plane ticket before I could change my mind. The plane’s engines roared as coastal fog dissolved beneath us, Manhattan’s jagged silhouette rising like a paper-cut cityscape against dawn.
And then I was there, at the big, scary New York. Tall buildings blocked the sky, and taxi horns screamed like angry birds. My hands shook as I walked into the hotel. At the award ceremony, I held Bianca’s old collar in my pocket — its rough edges reminded me of home. When my name was called, the crowd’s clapping sounded like ocean waves. I stood at the microphone and said, “Stories help us find bravery.” A man in the front row nodded like Kathy always does. Afterward, someone handed me coffee with a kind smile. It was just Kathy standing there, smiling. The city lights twinkled like stars on water, and I smiled back.辽宁省名校联盟2025年高三5月份联合考试
