One possible version:
How Technology Changes Our Lives
Technology has significantly changed how we live presently. In study, digital tools make learning
easier — we can find information quickly online and use apps to fulfill tasks. For communication, video
calls make us talk to family far away, breaking the distance. At home, smart devices help do housework
with least efforts.
However, technology brings problems too. Too much screen time hurts our eyes and makes us less
focused. Some people feel lonely even when chatting online. We must remember to balance technology
use with real-world activities.
Technology is a powerful tool. Let’s use it wisely to improve life instead of being defined by it.
Turn off phones sometimes, enjoy face-to-face talks, and keep learning in both digital and real ways.
(119 words)
(Chicken soup free stories)One possible version:
The nurses went into action. Some claimed meals from the hospital cafeteria and prepared a
banquet for our Christmas guests. Some prepared presents like candies and baskets of fruits. As
seriously as we met physical needs of the patients, our team worked to meet and exceed the expectations,
of a family who just wanted to be warm on Christmas Day. We took turns joining the “Christmas party”
in the waiting room. Each nurse took his or her lunch break with the family, choosing to spend their “off
duty” time with these people whose laughter and delightful chatter became quite contagious. (95)
The “party” lasted into the late afternoon. Enveloped by the cozy atmosphere, the family enjoyed
our company, contentment etched on their faces. At the same time, we were able to locate a shelter that
would take the family in that night. When it was time for them to depart, the youngest came running
towards me, hugged me tightly and whispered in my ear, “Thanks for being our angels today.” As she
ran back to join her family, they all waved one more time before the door closed. I turned around slowly
to get back to work, a little embarrassed for the tears in my eyes. What a memorable working Christmas!

Any live sports airing on cable channels like ESPN, FS1and CBS
Sports Network are streaming here too.
You must have a Google account to subscribe. You Tube
小标题里 price中明确提到$34.99/month for the Spanish Plan.
Apple’s is the only major service with exclusively
original programming and no ads.
A项张冠李戴,原文给的是 cutting-edge series and films;B项属于 You Tube的特点;D
Max
这一平台,文中提到$19.99/month for three devices at once ad-free,因此选 B。

21. A。 文章提到 “Doctors estimated that she had just 1% chance of survival and less
than a year to live. ” 以及 “Though 12-year-old Jessie had a slight chance of beating cancer, she
resolved to make the most of her time.
根据 “She was determined to make other cancer kids happy,,可知 Jessie 制作
文中第二段提到“Amazingly, the pain and uncertainty never lessened her shine,
and Jessie always remained positive throughout it all”,说明 Jessie 是一位乐观的女孩;文中文中第
Looking out at the other children who were also going through cancer treatment, she asked
her parents: “How can we help them ”,说明 Jessie是一位有同情心的人,故 B 选项正确。

“understand the movement of the Antarctic ice sheet”,表明研究的重点是了解南极冰盖的运动规律,
30. A。 文章中提到“the extension zone, it is not the case”,这里的“it”指的是冰的物
因此,“it is not the case”
文章最后提到,“continue to perfect their analysis with additional data from the
选项 A
D https://www.sciencenews.org/article/brain-kidney-cells-memory
第二段提到“This well-known feature of how memory works in the brain
facilitates storing information in small groups over time, rather than a big group at once.”
information in small groups”相矛盾。
33. C。 第四段提到“Depending on how much light the glowing protein produces we
know how strong that memory gene was turned on”,可推断出萤火虫的发光蛋白质用于检测基因激
息错误,由第四段“...artificial chemical pulses that copy the signals that activate the memory activation
最后一段提到“Maybe we need to consider not just..., but what is the time
A项“缩短
B项“找到有效的学习策略”,是对“...just as we think about how to learn more
由第一段“...far outside the brain, kidney cells can also store information and
recognize patterns in a similar way to neurons”和全文内容可知,本文主要介绍新研究发现肾细胞

W: That’s the one by bike, isn’t it OK, so let me just check in the system. Have you already paid any

M: Yes, I’ve paid $150 as a deposit.
W: Unfortunately, if you cancel now, you will lose that money, because the company needs more than

W: Well, Monica, I’m sure you’ll enjoy working here. I’m the librarian. We’re open from nine in the
morning until eight in the evening but you’re not expected to be here all that time. You start working
at a quarter to nine and finish at a quarter past five, OK
Now, students aren’t allowed to bring large bags into the library. But staff can bring their bags in and
leave them in the office. You have an hour for lunch. But I don’t like staff eating in the library. Of
course you can have a cup of coffee there while you’re working. If you bring sandwiches for lunch,
there’s a common room downstairs where you can eat them. If you want to buy lunch, I’d
recommend the canteen upstairs. There are cafes in the town center but it’s a bit of rush to get there
and back in an hour though they’re cheap. OK. Any questions
