一、阅读理解
There are millions of animals in the world. But where are they To help people know more about animals, the artist Anton Thomas created a map with a lot of animals on it, both educational and surprising. The map is called Wild World. It is hand-drawn in colored pencil and pen, taking three years to complete.
This map shows 1,642 animals across all seven continents(大陆) and the oceans that separate them through a different view. Thomas thinks that such a map would help inspire people’s love for the planet and its nature. At the same time, he believes it can serve as an excellent educational tool.
To make sure that the basic information of the map was correct, Thomas used a Natural Earth projection(投影). He drew basic outlines of the rivers and mountains before slowly building up his own artistic style in the map. Using his pencils and pens, he described the wild animals in the world and where they are living.
Different from many other maps that show countries or city streets, Wild World makes people notice what makes the planet special: the beautiful diversity(多样性) of nature. Thomas chose to only draw extant animals because he hoped to describe our world as it is now. “The map shows nothing that is no longer in the natural world. I want it to show just how wild our world still is, and how much is left to protect.”

在英语课上,你们开展了一次以“What can we do to make home a happier place ”为主题的讨论,同学们把自己的想法写在了卡片上。请结合卡片信息,用英语写一篇短文,向校刊English Learning投稿。
In our English class, we had a discussion about what we can do to make home a happier place. We shared different ideas.
______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
Some say it’s better to spend more time with family. The more time we get together, the better we understand each other. Some think family members should share happiness and worries. For example, when they have problems, we should try to cheer them up. Others believe it’s important to remember family’s birthdays and give small presents to our family on their birthdays.
I think, showing love for family is necessary. If we help with housework, they may feel warmer. Sometimes, even the smallest thing like walking with family makes them happier. Though we’re young, we can do much to make home a happier place.
