Skipping to victory
Zhou Qi is a 17-year-old student from Hangzhou. Zhejiang. Last September he broke the Guinness(吉尼斯)
World Record for the most single skips in one minute, with a result of 374. The record had stood unbroken for ten
years. Daisuke Mimura from Japan held it with 348 skips in 2013.

However, the road to success was far from smooth. For years, Zhou practised with a special
steel rope designed for competítion. It’s light and strong. But because of the rope he used, his first
Guinness application was considered invalid(无 效 ). After online communication with the records
management team, Zhou quickly changed to a common rope recognized(认证) by the Guinness World
Records. He soon got used to it.
Whatever kind of rope Zhou used, his strict training stood him in good sporting condition. Zhou has been in
the school rope skipping team for seven years. He has jumped rope for about four hours each day. He would also
run around the playground to improve his physical strength.
Now a high school student, Zhou said he’ll put his studies first. But he won’t stop training and still hopes to

Passage 3
(2024·江苏扬州·中考真题)A total of 23 spotted seals(斑海豹) were put back into the waters off the coast of
Dalian in Northeast China’s Liaoning Province on Tuesday, Dec. 12, 2023 as part of China’s continuous efforts to
protect endangered wildlife.
The seals were hunted and sold, but have now been saved and marked for future protection. A fishery law
enforcement ship arrived at the sea area near Dalian in the morning, carrying the spotted seals. The seals were let
go free one by one into the sea. They swam freely in the water, returning to their natural home.
Spotted seals are nationally protected animals in China. They are the only kind of seals that can breed (繁殖)
in Chinese waters. Like migratory (迁徙的) birds, they appear around October every year in Liaodong Bay, and
take the long journey back to the Northwest Pacific in May after breeding. They are often considered as the “panda
of the sea”.
Thanks to China’s top-class national protection in recent years, the population of spotted seals in Chinese
waters has reached around 2,000, while the global population is between 400,000 and 600,000. Studies have shown
that these 2,000 spotted seals are of great importance for the study and research on spotted seals.
To protect this rare animal and its ecological environment, the Liaoning Dalian Spotted Seal Wetlands were
set up in 1992. In January 2002, they were included in the List of Wetlands of International Importance. Covering
an area of 560,000 hectares with a coastline of about 370 kilometers, the wetlands are rich in biological resources.
They have become home to nationally protected animals such as the spotted seal, finless porpoise, killer whales,
false killer whales, common dolphins, bottlenose dolphins, and East Asian river dolphins.
Since 1992, researchers in Dalian have successfully saved 388 spotted seals and put 299 of them back into
the wild.
3. What does the underlined word “they” in paragraph 5 refer to (指的是)

Passage 1
(2025·江苏无锡·一模)Wang Wei (701-761), often called the “Poet Buddha”, was a famous Chinese poet,
painter, and government official during the Tang Dynasty (618-907). Born into a high family, he passed a difficult
government exam at age 20 and worked for the emperor for many years.
Wang Wei is best known for his simple, peaceful poems about nature. His works often describe quiet scenes
of mountains, rivers, and mist with few people. Experts(专家) say his poems show the beauty of the world while
making readers think about what’s truly real.
But he wasn’t just an amazing poet; he was also a talented painter. He used ink and water in soft colours to
create gentle, poetic pictures of nature. It was a new style of painting Chinese landscapes. Su Shi of the Northern
Song Dynasty (960-1127) once said that Wang Wei “had painting in his poetry” and “poetry in his painting”.
His most famous work, Wang River Collection, contains poems about traveling with his friend Pei Di. These
poems have influenced writers for centuries, including modern writers who created new works based on his ideas.
One poem called Weicheng Qu became a famous song called Three Repetitions on the Yangguan Tune, usually
played on the guqin, an instrument Wang Wei probably played.
Scholars (学 者 ) still study his poems today. A famous book called 19 Ways of Looking at Wang Wei
examines different translations of his short poem Deer Park, showing how his simple words can have many
meanings. Wang Wei’s works remain important because they help people see nature’s quiet beauty and think deeply
about life.

2. What was Wang Wei best known for
3. Who spoke highly of Wang Wei for having painting in his poetry
4. What two famous poems are mentioned in the passage

(2025·江苏徐州·二模)The Horsetail Fall is one of Yosemite National Park’s most amazing scenery. Around
the second week of February, the setting sun hits the Horsetail Fall at just the right angle to light the upper reaches
of the fall. When conditions are right, the Horsetail Fall becomes orange and red at sunset. It is like red-hot lava
pouring down from the top of the El Capitan, so it got the name “firefall”.
The firefall is a perfect match of the weather, the fall, the time and the watching place. It usually appears on
dry, warm and cloudless days. There must be enough flowing water to make a firefall. There should also be enough
snow on the mountain top, and it turns into water in warm afternoon.
The sun goes to the best place before the fall in late February. The best time to watch the fall is 5 to 15
minutes before the sunset. Only at this time can visitors see the firefall. The El Capitan Picnic Area is the best place
to watch, because it is close to the fall and is perfect to set up cameras and tents.
Every year in February, thousands of photographers come to watch the firefall. The spectacle may appear
just minutes before sunset, so people have to come hours earlier to get a right place to set their cameras in time. “I’
m just saying that the Yosemite firefall is something you don't want to miss during the winter,” said Kate Moore, a
traveller and lead content creator for a travel website.

On weekends, I like to go to yard sales with forty dollars. I always expect to find something I can sell on
eBay, an online marketplace where people buy and sell things, and make a good profit(利润).
One day, at a yard sale, I saw a violin for just twenty dollars. I bought it right away without knowing its real
value. I called my husband Rick to do a quick search on eBay to find out how much such an instrument would cost.
However, Rick said there weren’t any violins like that listed. It was strange because I thought selling violins
online was quite common. After I hung up, I began to worry: Maybe no one would buy the violin at all.
On my way home, an elderly man asked if I could sell him the violin for fifty dollars. I agreed and handed
him the violin. I returned home happily. Then I sat at the computer, went to the eBay home page, and typed in the
kind of second-hand violin I had just sold. To my surprise, I found three violins just like mine selling for over 500
dollars each! I realized Rick hadn’t checked the eBay home page.
I sold the violin at such a low price! I felt awful and decided to buy it back, but Rick said the weather would
soon get bad. Turning a deaf ear, I rushed out of our house. However, it suddenly began to rain heavily. I had to go
home. I was sad, feeling I lost a great deal of money.
As time went on, I almost forgot it. One day, when I was walking on the street, an old man greeted me,
“Good morning! Because of your generosity, my love of music has grown stronger. Now, I volunteer to teach kids
to play the violin...” Then I realized he was my violin buyer. Hearing his words, I was proud of my decision that
day. Sometimes, the real value is in helping others.
11. What did the writer ask her husband Rick to do after buying the violin at the yard sale
12. How much profit did the writer make from selling the violin to the old man
13. Why did the writer feel awful after checking the eBay home page
14. Did the writer make a right decision by selling the violin to the elderly man Why or why not

have ice, they’re ice climbing.
As people made better equipment(装 备 ), ice climbing started to become easier and
more popular. In 1908, a climber made special boots called “crampons”. Those boots made ice
climbing easier and safer. After that, more people were willing to try ice climbing. In the
1960s, another climber invented special axes. Climbers can use the axes to hit the ice. The
axes go into the ice. Then the climber can pull himself or herself up.
These days, a lot of people are taking ice climbing classes. In order to go ice climbing, you have to be strong
and healthy. In fact, some teachers say that you should do special exercises before you start to climb.
Here’s one good thing about ice climbing. You can do it in easy places or difficult places. People who want
to try something simple can climb glaciers or small mountains. Those are usually pretty easy. People who want to
try something more challenging can find a more difficult place. The hardest places are usually steep mountains and
frozen waterfalls. However, you should never go ice climbing alone. You should always go with a teacher.
A lot of people love ice climbing because it’s hard. These people like to challenge themselves. Some say that
when you get to the top of a glacier or a frozen waterfall, you’ll have the best feeling.

These days. DeepSeek has received a lot of attention on the Internet. So what is DeepSeek It’s an AI tool
founded by a Chinese company on July 17, 2023. The team of researchers have studied in the top universities in
China and have no oversea educational background, and most of whom are under 34 years old. They are also very
good at math, physics and coding. The company works on AI, especially big models. Think of it like building a
super smart brain that can think and solve problems like humans (this is called AGI).
On January 20, 2025, the company made a new AI called DeepSeek-R1. It could help people find
information and summarize it, solve math problems, write code, and answer questions like top models such as
OpenAI’s ChatGPT-40. What made the whole world completely surprised was that it cost much less to build. It
only took the team $5.58 million (1/70 of OpenAI’s cost) and2,048 computer chips, and two months to create it.
This meant that good ideas could beat big money. On its first day online, over 19,000 programmers around the
world started projects to study it. Even Meta (a famous U. S. tech company) top scientist said, “This kind of free AI
could change the world.”
As a DeepSeek engineer said, “We want AI to be a friend, not something only rich people can use.” With R1,
China shows the world that great things come from new ideas, not just money. And we can see that the future
development of the AI is bright and hopeful, which gives us more confidence and courage to explore the unknown

Digital Adoption(数字认养): A New Way to Protect Wildlife
Hongshan Zoo has become a hot topic on the Internet. It led the digital adoption program, which aims not
only at teaching science but also at increasing interaction(互动), encouraging animal-lovers to take part in animal
protection.
Through the zoo’s mini-program, people can see different kinds of animals ready for adoption, such as
wolves, capybaras, and red pandas. Adopters can be anyone who lives in Nanjing. If you are not local visitors, you
can choose “digital adoption”.
Lu, a young lady, adopted a capybara named Fubao. She took part in an offline activity organized for
adopters at the zoo. Through the activity, she fed, touched and played with it in a close way.
In order to build the deep connection between adopters and animals, Hongshan Zoo not only often holds the
offline activity at the zoo but also updates(更新) the animals’ lives through photos and livestreams(直播) online.
Wang, a lawyer from Liaoning province, adopted a meerkat named Little Prince. She says, “Since I don’t
live in Nanjing, I’m thankful that the zoo offers livestreams and it is easier for me to know the latest information
about Little Prince. I can also know whether it lives a happy life or it is healthy enough.”
Chen is not only a mother of two children but also the “mother” of a Bengal white tiger named Gucaini. She
now receives monthly updates along with videos recorded by the tiger’s keeper. Moreover, she can communicate
with her adopted animal through livestreams.
Actually, digital adoption program helps provide a meaningful way for animal lovers from far away to make
a contribution to animal protection. On one hand, even if they can’t visit the zoo, they can support their adopted
animals as well. On the other hand, they can stay connected with their adopted animals through the zoo’s
mini-program all the time.

A reader’s brain is different
It appears that few young people read for fun these days in the UK. In a 2024 survey by the UK charity The
Reading Agency, almost one in four people aged 16~24 in the country said they didn’t read regularly. What does it
mean What kind of structure does a good reader’s brain actually have
My new study published in the journal Neuroimage studied open-source data from more
than 1,000 people. The result shows differences in two regions of the brain’s left temporal
lobe(大脑左颞叶), which sits behind the left ear.
One is the lobe’s front part known as the temporal pole(颞极). It helps connect and sort
different kinds of information. For example, to understand a word like “leg”, this brain region
links how legs look, feel, and move. In people who read well, the left temporal pole is thinner
compared to the right.
The other is the Heschl’s gyrus(海氏回) on the lobe’s upper part. The fold hosts the auditory cortex(听觉皮
层) that processes sounds. That the auditory cortex would be related to reading might seem less obvious(明显的):
isn’t reading mainly a visual skill Not only. To match letters with speech sounds, we first need to be aware of the
sounds of the spoken language. This phonological awareness has been known to set the stage for children’s reading
development.
A thinner left Heschl’s gyrus has previously been often related to dyslexia(阅读障碍 ), a condition that
makes reading very difficult. However, my research shows that this difference in thickness isn’t just about dyslexia.
It applies to more people, where having a thicker auditory cortex is related to being better at reading skills. But it’s
important to know that the brain changes when we learn something new or practice a skill we have already
mastered. For example, young adults who studied languages a lot saw an increase in the thickness of brain areas
related to language. Similarly, reading is likely to shape the structure of the left Heschl’s gyrus. So, if you want to
keep your heschl’s gyrus healthy, pick up a good book and start reading.
● Few young people enjoy reading in the UK. 45
information ● 1/4 of people aged 16~24 don’t have the 46 of regular reading.

Two friends, Lucas Lu and Sara Wang, are sitting in a café.
Lucas: (Reading on his phone.) Have you heard China’s skill of building wooden arch bridges(拱桥) is
now on the list of UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage(非物质文化遗产).
Sara: Really Are these bridges still there
Lucas: (Searching on his phone.) Yes, there are more than 100 of them. Most are in Zhejiang and Fujian.
Sara: But if they are very old bridges, how can they still be there I mean, shouldn’t they be falling down or
even long gone
Lucas: Well, I think it’s because of the skill of their “mortise and tenon” structure(榫卯结构). Ancient
people built these bridges without using nails(钉子). Basically, builders use mortise and tenon joints to fit two sets
of beams (梁) together. The longer beams are as long as the main body of the bridge. Mortises are cut into their
ends. The shorter beams have tenons at their ends. The tenons are carefully fit into the mortises. Then the beams
form a solid arch to support the bridge.
Sara: That sounds like a very difficult skill.
Lucas: It certainly is. And when designing a wooden arch bridge, designers have to think about a lot of
things, such as traffic flow and fengshui. They must also find out about the area’s land and soil.
Sara: It’s a lot more than just getting from one place to another.
Lucas: Exactly! In fact, the skill has been passed down since the Song Dynasty. But modern technology has
made it seem out of date.
Sara: I hope more people will see it as it’s now on the UNESCO list.
Lucas: Me too! It would be sad if we lost this ancient wisdom.
55. What is the most amazing and challenging skill in building these ancient bridges
56. What things do builders have to consider when designing these bridges Please name two things.
57. When did people first use this skill to build things

job, it was so awful. When he was about to work, he found he had left his tools for work at home, and his car broke
down on the way. While I was driving him home, and his wife telephoned to say that his son had a bad cold.
He was silent all the way. When we arrived, he invited me to meet his family.
As we walked towards the front door, he stopped at a small tree and touched the tree with his hands. When
we opened the door, I was very surprised to see that the worker wore a big smile. It seemed that he changed into
another person. He hugged his son and gave his wife a kiss.
After a while, when he walked to the car, I asked him why he had touched the tree.
“Oh, that’s my trouble tree,” he answered. “Sometimes I have trouble with my job, but one thing is for
sure-it doesn’t belong to my wife or my son. So I just hang up the trouble on the tree when I come home every
night. Then the next morning I pick it up. However, when I pick it up, I hardly remember what I put the night
before.”

During this year’s Two Sessions(两会), the term “weight management” caught a lot of attention. That’s
because the government has carried out a three-year action program called “Weight Management Year”. This
program aims to help people understand the importance of controlling the weight to promote(促 进 ) a healthy
lifestyle.
Many children and adults have been fighting against obesity(肥 胖 ). According to the report from the
National Health Commission, over half of the adults and about 20% of school-aged children in China are
overweight(过重的). Obesity not only affects appearance but also causes serious health problems. What’s worse,
obesity can even bring people psychological problems(心 理 问 题 ), such as depression(抑 郁 ) and anxiety. So,
weight management has become an important part of many people’s lives.
The program includes activities like sports events, healthy eating workshops, and fun challenges. As we all
know, the obesity has become a serious problem among teenagers. There is no doubt that both schools and parents
play an important role in the weight management. For example, schools can organize different kinds of sports
activities during the breaks at school, while parents can encourage the children to do exercise and eat healthily after
school. Of course, students are supposed to be responsible for their own weight and health as well. By working
together, we can create a healthier young generation.
The government believes that by promoting a healthy lifestyle, we can reduce chronic diseases (慢性病) like
high blood pressure, diabetes(糖尿病), and heart problems. The “Weight Management Year” does not mean forcing
everyone to lose weight. Instead, it focuses on the scientific management of weight to further improve the overall
health of nation. Let’s join together and make ourselves healthier and our nation stronger.

Chinese fancy knots, also called Chinese knots, refer to the traditional decorative knots in Chinese culture.
They began as a form of folk art in the Tang and Song Dynasties in China, and became popular in the Ming
Dynasty. Long ago, they found their way to Japan and other neighbouring countries, and were well received there.
Now they are taken as one of the symbols of Chinese culture.
As for the name itself, it is meaningful. The Chinese character for “knot”, jie, means “connection” or
“combination”. It reminds people of some cultural concepts like marriage, brotherhood, friendship, unity and
reunion(团圆). Meanwhile, the pronunciation of the Chinese character jie is very close to that of ji, “good luck”. As
a result, Chinese knots perfectly serve as a way to express people’s strong wishes for good things like joy, love and
good luck. Besides, the knots, widely existing in the everyday life of the Chinese, come in various(各种各样的)
sizes. Small ones are joined to jewellery, clothes, gift-wrapping and furniture to attract people’s attention, and large
ones are applied(应用) like fine paintings or photographs to decorate a living room or study. Whether large or
small, there are over a dozen basic knot patterns(样式), named according to their shapes, usages or origins. For
example, Double Coin Knots are called Shuangqian Jie because they are in the shape of two ancient Chinese coins,
meaning “good things coming in pairs”. However, almost all the main styles of Chinese fancy knots are made up of
two very similar parts, and the patterns on the front and the back sides are also similar in every detail.
In addition to their varied sizes and patters, Chinese knots are famous for their bright colours. Each of the
Chinese knots is made of only one string of cotton, silk, gold or silver. But the colours of the strings are rich and
have various traditional cultural meanings. Among the most commonly used base colours, red symbolises good
luck and happiness, green means health and harmony, and yellow, which was once known as the emperor’s colour,
may represent wealth and honour.
In brief, the famous Chinese fancy knots fully show the depth of Chinese culture. These brightly coloured
knots of various patterns, with their endless chains of knots, symbolise that life on earth will continue forever.

Chinese architect Liu Jiakun, 68, was awarded the 2025 Pritzker Architecture Prize on March 4. becoming
the second winner from China to receive the highest honor in the field of architecture. Based in Chengdu, Liu’s
career covers four decades and more than 30 projects. He founded Jiakun Architects in 1999 and has built a diverse
body of work, ranging from small, beautifully designed museums and monuments(纪念碑) to large commercial
buildings and master plans for cities.
The Pritzker Architecture Prize
Rather than following a distinct style, Liu’s projects include local elements and rely on “low-tech” simplicity
to achieve beauty, The Spaces reported. “He has developed a strategy that never bases on a recurring(反复出现的)
method but rather on evaluating the specific characteristics and requirements of each
project differently,” the jury(评审团) said in its citation announcing the award.
One of Liu’s most well-known projects around the world was the so-called
“rebirth bricks” he created after the terrible Wenchuan earthquake in 2008. To aid in
reconstruction, Liu made bricks using local wheat fiber, cement(水泥) and rubble(瓦砾) from collapsed buildings.
More than just recycling, these bricks were “a poetic metaphor”, for the rebirth of the material and “the spiritual
rebirth of the community at a time of national mourning”, reported The Guardian, These bricks were later used in
several of his projects, including the Shuijingfang Museum in Chengdu and the Novartis pharmaceutical(制药)
company in Shanghai.
Liu’s design also focuses on ordinary people. This is reflected in his largest project, West Village, a
five-story urban complex completed in 2015 in Chengdu, The complex includes a soccer field, a market, and
pathways for cyclists and pedestrians(行人). With grass growing through holes in the bricks, the project celebrates
“the liveliness of ‘everyday life’,” wrote critic Austin Williams in 2017. It has become a popular destination for
people from home and abroad to spend their leisure time.
“Architecture serves to create a beautiful, just and dignified(有尊严的) living environment. People’s real
lives, happiness and dignity are what we strive for,” Liu told China Daily.

perfect short name that people would remember.
He began his career as a songwriter in the early days of rock and roll. In the 1950s, he wrote “Love Me
Right” and “Early in the Morning” for other singers. Darin also recorded some of his own songs, such as “Splish
Splash” and “Dream Lover”. These songs showed he was a good songwriter, but he was still trying to be a singer.
After he recorded a song in 1959 called “Mack the Knife”, however, everything changed. It was a song that
Louis Armstrong and Lawrence Welk had recorded before, but Darin’s version became the most famous. The song
was number one on the pop music charts. It was Darin’s first and biggest success.
During the mid-1960s, Darin showed great interest in folk music. He began to write and sing folk songs. He
recorded versions of “If I Were a Carpenter” and Bob Dylan’s “Blowin’ in the Wind”.
Darin wanted to do more than just singing, so when he had time during his busy singing and recording
career, he started acting too. He received an Academy Award nomination for his role in the film Captain Newman,
M. D. He guest-hosted several TV shows and even had his own show. He always reinvented himself—not just to
stay popular, but to express deeper parts of who he was.
Darin had always known about the heart condition that led to his death. When he died in 1973, it seemed as
though he had been on a mission to do as much in his life as he could. He had all kinds of friends. During his life,
he called Robert F. Kennedy, Martin Luther King, Jr. Gore Vidal, and Liza Minnelli his friends. He once said his
goal was to be “accepted widely as an entertainer and human being.” Darin may very well have achieved his goal.

He got home at last, tired
and hungry. He was lying on the grass, relaxed. He sings happily.
1. It’s + adj. of sb. to do …= 主语+ be + too + adj + to do sth =so … that …/…adj. enough to do …

go free one by one into the sea.
Since 1992, researchers in Dalian have successfully saved 388 spotted seals and put 299 of them back into
the wild.

Passage 2

Passage 9
(2025·江苏镇江·一模)根据短文内容在文章后表格中的空白处填入一个最恰当的词,每空一词。

35. 根据“Hongshan Zoo has become a hot topic on the Internet”可知,洪山动物园已经成为互联网上的“热门话
题”。其中“hot topic”对应“under discussion”意为“被热议”。故填 discussion。
36. 根 据 “It led the digital adoption program, which aims not only at teaching science but also at increasing
interaction, encouraging animal-lovers to take part in animal protection.”可 知 , 文 中 明 确 说 明 该 计 划 旨 在
“teaching science”,此处使用动词原形“teach”。“designed to teach people science”表示“旨在教给人们科学”。故
填 teach。
37. 根据“Adopters can be anyone who lives in Nanjing.”可知,居住在南京的任何人可成为认养者。因此
“Common adopters”指“local people”。故填 local。
38. 根据“Through the activity, she fed, touched and played with it in a close way.”可知,句中描述她以亲密的方
式去接触它,“in a close way”指“以亲密的方式”。此处需用副词形式修饰动词短语“Feed and play with
animals...”,“close”的副词形式是“closely”,表示“近距离地”。故填 closely。
39. 根据“Since I don’t live in Nanjing, I’m thankful that the zoo offers livestreams and it is easier for me to know

with adopted animals”表示“与收养的动物交流”。故填 communication。
42. 根据最后一段“Actually, digital adoption program helps provide a meaningful way for animal lovers from far
away to make a contribution to animal protection. On one hand, even if they can’t visit the zoo, they can support
their adopted animals as well. On the other hand, they can stay connected with their adopted animals through the
zoo’s mini-program all the time.”

A reader’s brain is different
It appears that few young people read for fun these days in the UK. In a 2024 survey by the UK charity The
Reading Agency, almost one in four people aged 16~24 in the country said they didn’t read regularly. What does it
mean What kind of structure does a good reader’s brain actually have
My new study published in the journal Neuroimage studied open-source data from more than 1,000 people.
The result shows differences in two regions of the brain’s left temporal lobe(大脑左颞叶), which sits behind the
left ear.
One is the lobe’s front part known as the temporal pole(颞极). It helps connect and sort different kinds of
information. For example, to understand a word like “leg”, this brain region links how legs
look, feel, and move. In people who read well, the left temporal pole is thinner compared to
the right.
The other is the Heschl’s gyrus(海氏回) on the lobe’s upper part. The fold hosts the
auditory cortex(听觉皮层) that processes sounds. That the auditory cortex would be related to
reading might seem less obvious(明显的): isn’t reading mainly a visual skill Not only. To match letters with
speech sounds, we first need to be aware of the sounds of the spoken language. This phonological awareness has
been known to set the stage for children’s reading development.
A study ● It is 47 on open-source data from over 1000 people. ● It studies the influence of reading on the 48 structure.
There’re 49 lying in two parts of the brain’s left temporal lobe.
The temporal pole
● It lies in the front part of the lobe.
● It helps connect and sort information.
Findings ● Skilled 50 have a thinner left temporal pole. The Heschl’s gyrus
● It lies on the upper part of the lobe.
● The auditory cortex in this part deals with sounds.
● Though it isn’t 51 noticed, the auditory cortex helps children’s reading
development.
● People with a thicker auditory cortex do 52 in reading.

Passage 11
(2025·江苏常州·二模)阅读短文,回答问题。前 3 题每题答案不超过 10 个词
57. When did people
