One of the most popular places for mountain climbing is Africa's highest mountain—Mount Kilimanjaro. It is in the east of Africa between Tanzania and Kenya. It is about 5,895 meters high,so climbing it is not as difficult as climbing Mount Qomolangma, but the low temperature and strong winds often make it difficult and dangerous for climbers to reach its top.People began to climb the mountain in 1861,but no one reached its top until Ludwig Purtschellerand Hans Meyer from Europe did so in 1889. Now Mount Kilimanjaro is a place of interest and thousands of tourists come here every year.On March 16,2018,a seven-year-old girl named Montannah Kenney from the USA succeeded in reaching its top.She is the youngest to reach the top of the mountain.
