Yao Zhihui, an experienced high-speed train electrician, is devoted to her work. No issue is not important for her to solve. “Each high-speed railcar has 19,726 wire harnesses (线束)and nearly 100,000 connection points,” said Yao, 37, who works for CRRC Changchun Railway Vehicles, a high-speed train manufacturer based in Northeast China's Jilin Province.
After graduating from Northeast Electric Power University in 2011, Yao was employed by the company. Since then, she has dealt with nearly 50 key production processes for 13types of high-speed trains and solved 76 technical issues.
At first, she wasn't clear about the specifics of her job. She was arranged to connect train wires, which requires removing insulation(绝缘层). To accurately remove it, she practiced over 200 times every day. She and her colleagues worked within a space of less than five square meters, so she had to kneel(跪着) to work for two to three hours at a time.
Yao discovered later that despite having the same standards, the completion was quite different among workers— some wire ends had burrs(毛刺), some wire coils were out of shape. These issues might seem unimportant on the surface, but they brought safety risks to train operations. Yao spent a month thinking out a solution and created five electrical sample boards(样板). Every wire's connection points, wiring positions and directions were shown in detail on each board. As long as wiring is done according to this standard, the quality will be ensured.
Yao has been developing her skills and improving her work, starting from upgrading blueprints, improving tools and setting standards, while also constantly summarizing the technical challenges in improving wiring efficiency, which has greatly increased production efficiency and reduced production costs in practical applications.
Yao was awarded as one of the company's top ten outstanding young employees. “I hope to inspire more colleagues with my actions and collectively work towards creating a shining example for Chinese manufacturing,” she said.
24. What is Yao's main job at CRRC Changchun Railway Vehicles
A. Designing advanced high-speed sample trains.
B. Managing all the company's daily operations.
C. Connecting wires and solving technical issues.
D. Training new workers in manufacturing skills.
25. What do the figures in paragraph 3 show
A. Yao was good at getting well with others.
B. Yao found it easy to clear the insulation of train wires.
C. Yao spared no effort to do her work well.
D. Yao learned the importance of her work at great pains.
26. What problem did Yao Zhihui find
A. The former sample boards were not shown.
B. Not all wire connections were satisfactory.
C. The workers had a poor awareness of goals.
D. There were no details in avoiding safety risks.
27. Which of the following can best describe Yao
A. Kind and emotional. B. Creative and responsible.
C. Humorous and outgoing. D. Caring and determined.
C
Studies have shown that writing by hand can have enormous(极大的) beneficial impacts in terms of memory, brain development, and even the quality of writing itself.
Some might say that handwriting has become a dying art since the advent of the typewriter in the mid 1880s, even more so due to computers. In fact, nowadays, some schools in the United States no longer require teaching handwriting as a part of the main courses. However, despite the sense that writing on paper is out of fashion, it actually has a number of very important strengths.
Writing by hand is not only important for language processing and memory, but it is also important for mental development. In learning to write by hand, the human brain must combine feeling, movement control, and thinking. For whatever reason, it does not do so when learning to type.
Writing by hand is good for mental health, and there are some studies that can prove it. Writing on paper can help students recall material better than typing on a keyboard. Similarly, a study from 2014 shows that compared to writing by hand, taking notes on a laptop results in a less deep absorption of the learned material. This is because when using a laptop, students often type out lectures word for word instead of processing information and rewording it in their own language.
These advantages actually translate to how you recall the information. In this case, writing by hand instead of typing also helps students do better on exams. Children write longer and more complex essays when they are writing by hand, compared with using a keyboard. Children usually do better writing with a pen when they write essays. They write more and faster.
The next time you want to sit down to write an email to a loved one, why not try writing a handwritten letter instead It can be more beneficial to your brain. Plus, the personal touch of a handwritten letter can make your message even more special and memorable.
28. What does the underlined word “advent” in paragraph 2 mean
A. Appearance. B. Request. C. Alarm. D. Rent.
29. What does paragraph 3 mainly tell us about handwriting
A. Its requirements. B. Its types.
C. Its development. D. Its advantages.
30. What happens when students use a laptop instead of a pen to take notes
A. They have a lower understanding of the material.
B. They do better in writing essays.
C. They are less confident about their exams.
D. They recall more words.
31. What is the author's purpose in writing the last paragraph
A. To share a personal experience. B. To express thanks.
C. To honour loved ones. D. To make a suggestion.
D
A rare moss (苔藓) called takakia has adapted over hundreds of millions of years to survive the extremes of life on the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau. And there is a team of researchers who have been studying the moss for nearly ten years. Takakia is found only on the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau.
Takaki a in this location has been buried under snow for eight months of the year, and it faced strong UV rays when it came from its snowy cover. Takaki a has been developing here for over 65 million years, with the habitat increasingly becoming extreme. The researchers record how climate change has greatly changed the moss’ habitat within just a few years. And the team is surprised to find takakia's shape in 165 million-year-old fossils(化石), showing that genetic changes affecting the shape developed more than 165 million years ago under wildly different conditions.
Despite having hundreds of millions of years to adapt to climate change, the little moss will be ended if the global climate keeps getting warmer. Since they began taking measurements of takakia’ s habitat in the early 2010s, the researchers have described an average temperature increase of almost 0.5℃ per year. Meanwhile, the glacier(冰川) near sample sites is melting at an alarming pace— around 50 meters per year. The researchers note that takakia's populations have become significantly smaller over the study period. During the ten years, the coverage of takakia's populations decreased by 1.6% every year, faster than that of four local common mosses—a trend they expect to continue.
“Our study shows how valuable takakia is in tracing the development of land plants. The population reduction we found is frightening,” a researcher says. “Luckily, knowing that the plant is threatened(威胁) or dying out also gives us a chance to protect it. For example, we can grow it in the lab,” another researcher says. “Takaki a has seen the dinosaurs come and go. It has seen us humans coming. Now we can learn something about adaptive ability and survival challenges from this moss.”
32. What can be inferred about takakia on the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau from the text
A. Its habitat is free from snow.
B. It has been developing wildly in China.
C. It has adapted to extreme conditions for quite a time.
D. Its genes have been unchanged for millions of years.
33. What might be the main threat to takakia according to paragraph 3
A. The rise of glacial water.
B. Human harvesting.
C. The competition with the local mosses.
D. Global warming.
34. What is the attitude of the two researchers in the last paragraph to takakia
A. Caring. B. Curious. C. Indifferent. D. Impatient.
35. Which of the following can be the best title for the text
A. The Ancient History of Takakia
B. The Threatened Survival of Takakia
C. The Unique Adaptive Ability of Takakia
D. The Rapidly Increasing Population of Takakia

How to Protect Your Online Security
In today's digital age, protecting your online security is more important than ever. With the increase in cyber(网络的) threats, it's crucial to take steps to safeguard your personal information. 36 Follow these tips to enhance your online security and protect your data.
37 One of the simplest yet most effective ways to protect your online accounts is to use strong, unique passwords for each one. Avoid using the same password across multiple sites, and make sure each password is complex and difficult to guess. Avoid using easily guessable information like your name or birthdate. Consider using a password manager to keep track of your passwords securely.
Enable two-factor authentication(双重验证). Two-factor authentication adds an extra layer of security to your online accounts. 38 This makes it much harder for hackers to gain access to your accounts, even if they have your password.
Be careful about public Wi-Fi. Public Wi-Fi networks are convenient but can be risky. 39 If you must use public Wi-Fi, consider using a virtual private network(VPN) to encrypt(把……加密) your internet connection and protect your data.
Keep your software up to date. Software updates often include important security patches that fix vulnerabilities. 40 This includes your operating system, web browser, and any app you use regularly.
A. Use strong, unique passwords.
B. Protecting your online security doesn't have to be complex.
C. It's essential to be aware of the potential risks and take steps to minimize them.
D. Be careful of clicking on links or downloading attachments from unknown sources.

Emma is a teacher. She is 42 years old and lives a simple and regular life. Every day, she teaches at school and takes care of her family after work. Although her life is stable, deep inside, Emma always has a desire to challenge herself and try something she has never done
before.
One day, Emma’ s son, Jay, came home excitedly with a flyer(宣传单) in his hand. “Mom, our school is having a parent-child mountain climbing competition, and I signed up!” Jay said with excitement.
Emma smiled and nodded, but she felt a bit uneasy inside. She hadn't done any hard exercise for a long time, let alone a mountain climbing competition. However, Jay's eyes were full of expectation, and Emma couldn't say no.
“Please, Mom! Don't refuse to do it. I know you can do it!” Jay looked at Emma seriously, his eyes showing firmness.
Emma was surprised. She never thought she would join in a mountain climbing competition, but Jay's words gave something in her heart. “I know you can do it” reminded her of what she often said to her students in class. She realized that if she didn't believe in herself, how could she encourage her students
So, Emma decided to take the challenge. She made a training plan, running every morning and doing strength training at the gym every evening. At first, her body was not used to it, and she often felt very tired. But whenever she wanted to give up, Jay's words would echo in her ears, “I know you can do it!”
Months later, the day of the mountain climbing competition finally arrived. That morning, the sky was blue, and the sun was shining. Emma, Jay, and the other participants stood at the foot of the mountain. Her legs were shaking a bit, but her eyes were firm.

1.续写词数应为150个左右;
2.请按如下格式在答题卡的相应位置作答。
